Marc, thank you for your reviews. As always, I enjoyed them a lot, especially, the one on Anne Carson whom I have been reading since her first publication. She is a great scholar and an author, indeed. I am looking forward to reading Daniell's Two Sherpas. Thanks for your recommendations. Have a great week.
so happy you liked the Carson--i loved it too...started my copy on the plane, finished about our lunch....(incidentally, you-know-who also says hello, she adore your hair, even though she said, 'tell me im sorry i was sleepy, i couldnt really follow you old writers" lol lol ) ....'utterly potty'....love this idiom, never heard before, going to use and teach to my students....btw, completely agree with your analysis of Rivka's book....i couldnt even finish it ;)....utterly potty, for me......btw, i really enjoed Kei Miller's book (thank you so much!!!) and Victoria Kennefick's (i've ordered her newest collection as well) ...regarding Two Sherpas, it is published by Charco Press, one of my fave independent presses who published lots of great SA Writers, including a writer you and I both adore, Claudia Piñeiro....and i'd love for you to check out one of my fave SA writers, who they also publish: Sergio Chejfe...i really like his novels My Two Worlds , The Planets and The Dark, all published by Open Letters Press.....ordered Patricide and Gub...excited....thanks Marc...see ya in summer, bb
@@authorleetee but, in British slang it means": slightly insane; eccentric adjective, pot·ti·er, pot·ti·est. Chiefly British Informal. slightly insane; eccentric. British. paltry; trifling; petty." hahahahah....i mean, the Brits do love their 'toilet humour' dont they (eg, Benny Hill! hahahah )
Just finished Two Sherpas last week and really enjoyed it Marc. I initially thought I’d love it as I loved the language, the structure, all the things about the Sherpas and the digressions but, without spoiling anything, I wasn’t overly keen on the older Sherpa section with Rabbit and sometimes I felt the language was a little overly intellectual. Still a great read though.

Thanks, Bob - was wondering if that was 'utterly potty' or 'utterly paltry'.

There's no doubt the carefull crafted tone changes in those sections devoted to the older sherpa Jo
Two Sherpas sounds interesting.
