I’m a Phils fan living in Nats country.
When the Phillies were rumored to want Harper, my friends back home were unsure about his attitude. I said “No. He’s matured. He’s not that punk kid who started in the league. I hate the Nats, but I respect the hell out of what Harper has become. We want him. Badly. It’s like when Pete Rose came all those years ago. Is he Pete? Nah. But he loves the game, and he’s got that Pete Rose dog in him. Philly will love him.”
And he’s certainly proved it. Harper is that kind of guy places like Philly, Boston, NY, etc. eat up. He’s all heart, he actually gives a damn about the game, and he will give you everything he’s got.
Hopefully Bryce doesn't have too much Pete Rose in him if you know what I mean. And it has nothing to do with gambling or sports.
He's better than Pete. He's (hopefully) not an alcoholic rapist. And he's got great HOF numbers. Harper is way better because being a legendary athlete isn't only about statistics, it's about the man behind those stats too.

As a life long Phillies fan that lives in Atlanta, I cannot tell you how nice it is to hear a player be genuinely happy to be a Philly. Folks here thought the Braves were going to sweep. Philly fans are tough, but loyal and don’t tolerate someone who just phones it in. I’ve not seen a Phillies team like this in a long time, if ever. The affection between fans and players is so real. Wish I could be in the stands! Go Phillies!

Dodgers only offered Harper 4 years because they felt he would be washed by then and wanted to make sure they had enough money available to extend Bellinger. They also traded Yordan for a middle reliever. Truly the fools of the 2022 playoffs
And ended up with Mookie in right field. Yordan was probably traded because he cant play defense and there was no DH in the NL
Man.. Watching this postseason run by Bryce n the Phillies really makes me wish we had a player w that much emotion and grit on the Dodgers. We could’ve had em along w Yordan as you mentioned, but banked on the fallen MVP in Belli who I love but just wasn’t the right decision. 🤕

Yordan was crushing it from day one in the minors. It was very clear very quickly what he was gonna become. Dodgers also traded O’Neil Cruz for a middle reliever that is no longer around. Imagine Cruz, Yordan and Harper into the future . Yikes

It makes me so happy to see Bryce getting his big moments after all the disrespect he has unfairly put up with over the last few years. I happily supported him since his Nationals days, he is one of my all time favorite players and I have been hoping for a World Series ring for him which hopefully can come this year! His legacy would be undeniable
Last few? He has been embraced and loved here. He was the MVP last season. It's never been his fault here and the organization every year tried to give the team what it needed and even canned managers when they weren't cutting it. Middleton the owner and the fans have been all in on Bryce
@@roman727 I know Phillies fans love Bryce, I'm talking about baseball fans in general. Being in the same class (and similar hype coming up) as Mike Trout has subjected him to being called overrated a lot of times and after winning his first MVP in Washington lots of people were actually calling him overrated because of not replicating that monster season immediately (of course he silenced those critics) and then a lot of hatred from Nationals fans and baseball fans all around after he left them for a division rival and they ended up winning the WS without him that same year. There has been a lot of disrespect for this all-time player for sure, but I know that people that actually care and know about baseball appreciate the amazing player he is and I'm so happy he just sent the Phillies to their first WS in 13 years!!! Hope he ends up winning!!
