Project Racing Green is my 1989 Rover Mini Racing Green that has had an official John Cooper conversion fitted by John Cooper Garages. The standard 998cc engine is boosted from 41BHP to 60BHP thanks to the engine upgrades. The upgrades include a polished and ported Cylinder head with enlarged valves, LCB exhaust system, Roller tip rockers, and Twin HS2 SU Carburettors. The interior enhancements include walnut door capping, walnut dashboard, alloy door furniture, and luxurious John Cooper emblem full leather GTS recliner seats.
Very informative Kieth, thank you. The car looks fantastic & you should be well pleased after all your hard work.
Thanks 👍
Looks amazing Keith, you should be proud of the results you’ve achieved.
Thank you
Absolutely love the channel, I'm half way through my own budget restoration. learning as I go , all your advice has been invaluable and inspiring. Keep up the great work
Glad to help
Very thorough video. Great advice. I've had mixed results over the years. I'm glad it worked out for you. The car looks great 👍
Thanks 👍
Very well done Keith, really great work and commentary, I hope you do another one soon, many thanks joe
Thanks Joe
Looks amazing in the sun well worth the spend Keith great video
Fantastic job Keith , well worth the money & effort. 👍
Looks fantastic Keith. Awesome quality of work. Good work
The paint job looks fantastic Keith. A credit to you. Thank you for sharing the costs. I will be painting my mini once I finish the metal work. I was planning on getting a professional to do the paint work and was budgeting about €3.5K but I think now that might not be enough. Cheers.
Thanks 👍
Impressive results from a garage job 💯
Hiya Keith-£1057 sounds great. RG looks as good as the day it was new, probably better. You should be really proud. Get that engine in now! Bruce is going in tomorrow to have his roof done in blue. I'll send you a pic when he's done. Keep well.
Looks amazing! 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Looking beautiful mate
Great video thanks for sharing. I got quoted 6k with me doing 90 percent of the prep 4 years ago.
Wow!
Wow it really does look beautiful, well done 👍
Excellent job looks very nice!
The finish looks brilliant, well done. I don't do paint, have not the patients for it. Give me a Rover K series to build any day 😂
Great job, I did the same. Bought a spray gun and had a go. Lots of info on RUclips on how to do things.
Can't beat watching CMW when England is playing 😮
Car looks better than new Keith and will no doubt have more paint than the original.
You need to come clean, the Upol fairies came in during the nights and painted it 😂
You must be very proud 👏
Give yourself a massive pat on the back. The colour is amazing and is testament to all the hours spent preparing the bodywork. I’d be interested in knowing what the total spend has been from the body panels and new bright work? Have you made a note of the man hours you have put into making that as awesome as it is. Can’t wait to see you out and about in it once you’ve refitted the engine.
Keith you have inspired me to paint my own mini! You did a great job and appreciate so much this video particularly as it helps a lot. Just a question, where do you dispose of waste thinners, cleanup liquids etc?
Our council recycling centre has a container for waste solvents
Brillant paint job worth every penny if I had tried to paint a car myself it would cost me a lot more than a £1000 because I would of messed it up big time
Wow doesn’t do it justice of what I’m looking at , your attention to details is astonishing , can’t get my head around of hoe unbelievable you are , noticed you have another mini , are there any videos on that one ? Sorry I only started watching your videos last week = looks like I’ve missed out , take care you = me.
Welcome along
@@classicminiworkshop have been binge watching your other videos, mind blowing = attention to details is on another level = wow.
@@classicminiworkshop the other videos I think you had four minis, what happened to the other two?
@@KavanOBrien I sold Project Sprout and Vini, I didn't really want to but needs must. I paid a big chunk of my mortgage to offset the rising interest rate
@@classicminiworkshop I understand, I would imagine you got a good price for them with the work you put into them.
Lovely job 👏 if it's a cooper does it have bonnet stripes?
Bonnet stripes weren't really a thing until the Rover Coopers came in during the 90's
Well done when is the engine going in
I'm still waiting for it to be rebuilt, very frustrating!
Hi Keith, how do you not get overspray on your floor and tools etc?
I cover everything up with sheets/plastic, cardboard on the floors
do you get ideas from Jeremy Thorpe?hmm i'm suuuure!!
I don't understand, who is Jeremy Thorpe?
Hiya Keith where do ifind your email im a little thick when it comes to pc's
