Thank you for this wonderful informative video! Very happy to learn more about this new crop in my garden. Would you please share the excellent music you have playing in the background? I tried my music identification app and it was no good.

The flowers on mine are dark burgundy. Is it okay to dry the calyx like you do for regular hibiscus?

There are many different hibiscus species so not sure what you got. Sorry

I wonder if you could trim the bushes,so they would not grow very high, but would be bushy and grow wider and it will be easier to collect Flowers 🌸

Interesting. I have been using the closed up flowers for my tea, not drying them. I find a bit of lemon juice really brings out the red colour. I will try the open flowers to compare the result. Cheers.

Yes, the closed flowers are fine if you don't dry them. If you want to store the flowers and enjoy the tea for months, drying the blossoms is the best way to do in my opinion :)

Permaculture Haven That's good. I will have to try the open flowers for comparison.

@@hippiekayaker9351 yikes, I’m still here! :) I find the closed flowers are easier to harvest, and I like to look at the open flowers so closed is better for me. But I don’t collect them to dry, perhaps the open flowers are better for that. Try it both ways.

Can I make tea form giant hibiscus?

I always thought you use the calyx to make the tea not the petals.
