    Thanks for making a tray & experimenting with something unique & not a freakin coaster or sun catcher! I have bought loads of window transfer film & trying to collect every pattern. I’m in love with the whole halographic trend! Whoever figured out that it works & transfers, is a damn genius & I pay unlimited gratitude to them! I was curious about the same things & if u would remove the film or would it stay built in & then feared the air bubble problem too! U just set my little brain on fire with millions of ideas😊
    Also I must say, I feel u on the whole cricket formatting confusion. I bought a Silhouette 4 & my daughter set it up for me but when I realized all the technical stuff u have to do in order to get it to cut out ur vinyl/ projects, I was completely terrified by it all. My daughter learned enough to print some t-shirts. I am also in need of someone walking me thru how to use the software step by step. Haven’t found any tutorial that explains it in a way my brain will download!

      I am so happy that I have inspired you to use your holographic film. It absolutely works amazing on resin. The Cricut is a mind boggle for me still. I have not found a good tutorial yet myself, so please let me know if you do. I am happy to share when I have also 😊 Thank you

    I have already tried this so I knew the window film would work, but I had to watch till the end to see your reaction. Totally worth it! Both pieces turned out lovely.

    It always works on the docker color so much better although you can see it on the lighter color. I’ve never used the cricket machine to do this. I’ve just always carefully cut with very small shop scissors and I’ve never had a problem. I’m happy that come out for you.❤

    Does the window film have an adhesive side, and does that side stick to the mold? Then after resin cures you remove it from the resin? I’m not sure if I missed something. This turned out absolutely amazing!

    • @smurphyart-love2create268
      @smurphyart-love2create268  3 месяца назад

      Exactly that, the film kinda just stuck to the mold and with the weight of the resin when pouring, it did not move. Thank you, and apologies in the reply. I have only just seen them all.

    GORGEOUS! One question. Which way did you lay the window cling down in the mold?

    • @smurphyart-love2create268
      @smurphyart-love2create268  3 месяца назад +1

      I laid it with the holographic film facing up. This would allow it to transfer, when I poured the resin. Then peeled it off, when set.

    What side of window film do you stick to the mould to get best effect

    • @smurphyart-love2create268
      @smurphyart-love2create268  Год назад +1

      I place the film into the mold with the holographic side up. You want to ensure the holographic side touches the resin, as it will transfer to it. I hope this helps, 😀

    Is the effect lost if you add a clear layer to protect the holo effect? (Im assuming it would but i wanna be sure)

    • @smurphyart-love2create268
      @smurphyart-love2create268  Месяц назад

      No I think it would stay. I still have this tray, and the effect is still as beautiful as the day I made it.

    lm new to epoxy. how u clean your hands from epoxy and your tools ???

    • @smurphyart-love2create268
      @smurphyart-love2create268  Год назад +1

      Tools I use sticky tape once it has set. I should be wearing gloves. But if I do get it on my hands, hot soapy water has helped and I do use hand cream.

      Rubbing Alcohol first, then soap and water, finish with a little hand cream. This works best. ❤

      It has been a while since I have made this. I do tend to over make, and have smaller mould on standby to fill. There is a way to fill the mould with Water, then calculate what is required. Clare's crafty corner has a video on how this can be done ✅😆

    I did this and it works too but I got bubbles impression. I took out the backing. What should I do to prevent bubbles?

      I did press the film down onto the mold, and rubbed it to ensure it fit with no over lay. With a slight overlay, it could move you even lift. Although I did get a bubble or two in the piece x I think I shimmered it too hard lol 😆

      Oh no. Did the resin cure over the lip of the film? I found it was hard to pull away on one of the edges that did this. I was happy with how this turned out. 🙂

    Did u adhere the film to your mold? I tried this and my resin seeped between the mold & film & encased the film. I'd love to get this to work for me. Help would be appreciated.

      @smurphyart-love2create268  2 года назад

      I did not, the film when placed on my mould and kinda stuck itself. The Holographic side faces upwards, so the flatter side down. I pour onto the Holographic side. It making sure you are laying the film the right way up. What film are you using? As I have only used the one type so far. I hope you manage to perfect it 💜 Let me know how you get on , or have any other questions. Good luck Sharon x

      I'm not sure if you're using the same film as I've got but there is a backing layer on mine. Taking the backing layer off seems to give it an extra bit of sticky to cling to the mould. I've done it both ways, taking the backing layer off and leaving it on and it's not made too much difference but I was just thinking the extra bit of stickiness might help you if you've got the one with the backing layer attached.
