Just finished mine. One of my door tops had a bit of rust that needed to be welded. Mine have the window locks on the top that are riveted in place. They had to be removed to get the window out. I also didn’t have the small spacers . I referenced the Haynes restoration manual as well, but it’s always helpful to watch someone. Thanks again Cheers!👍
Next thing on my list. I’m refurbishing my door tops though, not replacing. Mine only have minor surface rust . Looks pretty straightforward. Thanks for this.👌
Great videos as always very helpful I’ve been thinking about putting in series 3 doors and military tops for my defender but I’m just worried about the safety aspect is the a lock to hold the windows in place so they cannot be opened from the outside? Thanks again 👍🏼
Another good video - enjoyed it!! Are you fitting the rear bench seats next? If so please could you video doing them too, can’t see anyone else having done them on YT. Have mine to do in a few weeks! Thanks and keep them coming!!
Thanks you👍 I'm fitting individual tip up seats but when I get around to it if a have a spare bench seat (I'm not 100% sure I've got one) I can do I quick vid on that aswell 🙂👍
That's one really nice Land Rover that you have. Cracking job. I noticed your sandblaster in the background. What do you think of it? I am looking at buying one. I brought a compressor fromage recently and am really pleased with it and there service.
Thank you! The blaster is good for the price overall but the light is useless and ideally it needs an extractor but you'll have the same problems with any cabinet in this price range there all the same really. There's a couple of vids on my channel somewhere. 🙂👍
Very helpful. This is an upcoming job on my own Land Rover that I've been putting off. This will help a lot. Shouldn't there be a small rubber block on the inside of the window to stop the glass when opened fully? Do you find it necessary?
Hi, I've never seen a rubber stopper on one and the ready glazed tops you can buy don't come with one either. The windows barely open enough without so I wouldn't want to restrict the more. Thanks Craig 🙂👍
As your comment is 2 years old, you probably have already done your windows; however I made some small rubber window stops from a piece of fuel hose, and put them in the upper forward corners. Looks factory, like in the parts manual.
Hi, there from paintman panels I believe they ship world wide but you'd be better to ask them. Have a look on there website they're great people and would be happy to help if they can.🙂👍
Sorry didn't look properly I thought you was commenting on a different video, do you mean the long thin shim under the window rubber channel if so it's to pack the frame so the window isn't loose, rattling and drafty. 🙂👍

What's that kit called please? I can't find it on their site. Tx.
If I remember correctly it a window channel and glazing kit. 🙂👍
enjoyed the video you make it look easy
Thanks! I've done it a few times now🙂👍
What is the tape you are using on the door frame at the beginning? Thanks!
The tape for glass? Is double sided foam tape. 🙂👍
``Good Day. Where did you buy the doortops? Will I be able to order and let them ship it to me in CapeTown, South Africa?

Hi, where are you putting that shim? I can’t couldn’t really see.
Thanks
Just under the galvanised trim it's a bit of a cheat but with aftermarket parts they're not always a perfect fit. 🙂👍
So shim in first lying flat. Then oddly shaped trim butted up to glass as shown in your video then brush sliding base rail in last
Trying to understand the purpose of the shim lol

Very helpful thank you..
No problem thanks for watching 👍 🙂
You need a microphone. Very difficult to hear you
I've just had a quick look and it seemed fine to me 🤷🏻♂️ I think it was raining that day it doesn't help🙂👍
