  • It’s crab review time!
    Last week, we reviewed the Chasebaits Crusty Crab, and today we have this review of the Savage Gear 3D TPE Crab.
    I’ve been testing out this lure for a while now so that I can give an honest and thorough review.
    I’ll share:
    - the pros and cons of these lures
    - my favorite scenarios to use them to catch sheepshead (and even grouper),
    - some really cool underwater footage so you know what it looks like in action
    - how to get these lures for 20% off
    If you’re thinking about getting this Savage Gear crab lure, you're going to love this review.
    Also, we’re not affiliated with Savage Gear or any other company, so you can be sure this lure is totally unbiased.
    Have any questions about these lures?
    Have you used them?

    We need more crab lures or better jigheads for the ones on the market. I think a simple weighted hook that can be threaded on the bait would be great but sadly there aren’t any on the market. The only thing I think that might be similar are the crappie tube jig heads. I use the gamakatsu ones for saltwater but they bend out from time to time.

    Have a pack also, gonna try them in a creek to see if I can get some bites. There's a disclaimer on Tackle Warehouse not to store these with other soft plastics.

    Great video I've just made the purchase can't wait to use them, when your retrieving the crab you mentioned you let it sink, then slowly wind and stop just curious do you want to have any tension on the line or do you want slack in the line?

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  2 года назад

      You generally want to have some slack in the line to let it sink. but once it has had enough time to hit bottom you want to keep line tension.
      Thanks for leaving the comment!

    How would this lure work with fast moving tides like we see here in SC? Typically with fiddlers, we have to drop straight down with a fairly heavy weight so it won't just float with the tides endlessly, and away for the pilings where the Sheepshead are.

    • @twomovesahead_media
      @twomovesahead_media 4 года назад

      Yeah the tides are really fast down here in SC. Do fiddler crabs work as bait though???

    There is so much controversy and issues with the actual size of these Savage Gear crabs. On the front of that package you have it says 2.5cm-1", 2g-1/14oz; but that label on the back says, right in front of your face, TC-50-NP 2"-1/4oz...and you don't point out the discrepency in those labels. Savage Gears own website has THAT crab, TC-50, in 2", 3", and 4" sizes. There is no 1" crab for that model. Now if you go to Bass Pro Shops website, they have this same crab...TC-50, in 1" and 3". If you go to Tackle Warehouse website, they have it in 1", 2", and 3". This makes no sense!
