    When you were playing the chords how did you get them to have that almost washboard type sound to them? Did you mute some of the strings or was it just a lighter strum?

      When playing chop chords the aim is to create a percussive sound. The 2 lower sets of strings, the G & D, are the main ones to hit and lift your fingers off them immediately after striking them i.e. don't let them ring.
