I had no idea the original had become so expensive. I got mine from GameStop when they put it on clearance for around 40 bucks or something. It is a nice piece though, real high quality feel, and this reproduction in your video looks pretty damn close. I certainly wouldn't pay 200 bucks for the real deal with this one available for much cheaper.
Crazy to think stuff like this goes clearance and then skyrockets in price. Same with the Batman vs TMNT figures at Gamestop

This is definitely a knockoff in the sense that it’s a replica of the original set minus diecast and perhaps one additional accessory and the included Bulma figure. At least they aren’t trying to fool you with the same box as the original. Bandai will likely reissue the original set; they’ve been getting around to lots of re-releases for fans that missed out.
I hope they do more rereleases then! Lots of stuff out there that has gone way too high in price. I should have probably said “bootleg” and compared to “knockoff”. The “bootlegs” out there are hideous. This is actually nice
I hope they reissue or redo Z Broly. The paint jobs were immaculate, but the body proportions were weird. The shoulders were too big and the head was too small imo. I much prefer the Super broly hair, head and body sculpt proportions but I like the z aesthetic far better with the gold accessories and such. Classic.

I think by definition it's a bootleg because it seems to be the same sculpt, but there are certainly edge cases like this (and the 2008 neca turtles for example) where the bootleg is probably worth it compared to the price of the real thing.
Yeah, I may need to really think about "bootleg" versus "knockoff" as well. Personally, I would say this is more in the territory of "knockoff" and the cheap, $15 versions with bad paint are "bootlegs". But, they probably mean the same thing lol. Maybe "knockoff" is only when it would be something like, "Dragoon Sphere"
Dude I love that I can watch your videos. When I was younger I stole dbz action figures from Walmart. I'm Older and I buy them. It means more buy them because its the right thing to do.
Fun fact: the image in the back of the box is oolong wishing for a pair of panties in order to prevent Pielaf from using them to rule the world, a moment that leads to the climax of the first arc of the original Dragonball. Yes I've read it enough times to know that from sight alone.

I think it also ties back to the name pun. Bulma = bloomers, which nobody really says in English anymore, but it comes across as Oolong promoting the set AND being a perv. lol

I might get it. I don't have a lot of anime stuff. But that is pretty iconic of magic Dragonball, and you don't see much of Akira Toriyama's mechanical designs in plastic.
Irwin toys made some little die cast capsule corp machines in 2000.

It's cool that Bulma's name is supposed to be a reference to "panties." Your DB/DBZ love is a reminder that I still need to read/watch that series (don't hate me!). First I have to finish watching 10,000 episodes of One Piece (or read like a million chapters of the manga). Why do the popular manga/anime properties have so much material?!

I loved Dragonball Z back in the day. I haven't seen it in years. If I get Dragonball Z figures it will definitely be cheaper ones. Idk if Jada toys makes them. I'm collecting Jada toys Street Fighter characters. They're as articulate but $25.00-$30.00.

Honestly though we've seen NECA figures slightly inconsistent figure to figure. One big one that comes to mind is Tokka and Rahzar. The original release was more of a matte finish while the 2nd was far shinier. Its those posts that introduced me to Mr. Super Clear Matte. I ended up with a 1st release Tokka & Rahzar but I've used that spray on other figures and its fantastic! Another is the turtles headbands being different shades. Blackhole did great! You could show me the 3rd party and I'd not know it was 3rd party. :)
A good matte finish can completely change a figure! Amazing stuff
I just got into Dragon Ball recently and picked up a few lower priced figures. I picked one of these up from Aliexpress after watching the video.

I ordered the Bulma with bike. I just got the Black Moon Jitendra and it’s great. Really tight joints though.

as if the translation wasnt funny enough in real time the edit with the roshi nose bleed had me 😂 i found the blue hair goku at target last week, and my figuarts obsession is taking off exponentially. not a bad knock off here, but i prefer the adventurer bulma (i just gave her that name) from your other video.
Mad Max Bulma, haha! Yeah, I do to. I was really just here for the bike, but in the end, I would suggest the real Bulma over this thing unless you did want her only on the bike. My Figuarts obsession is also taking off exponentially. Haha!

How is the weight of the Capsule 9 bike? The real one has some decent weight with the metal in it.
My biggest gripe with the DragonBall SH Figuarts line, is the inconsistencies of scale... but to some degree, I understands why they didn't make kid Goku and kid Krillin so tiny... just makes it tricky to pose the child figures near the more adult figures.
Fun review... that I personally, didn't need (having the real ones) but I enjoy your style, so if a video of yours has something of interest to me, whether I own it or not, I've to to watch!

No metal in this one, but it feels like it looks like it would? Haha doesn’t make sense. It’s certainly not a problem at this weight.

The comments arguing about this is a KO, bootleg not a third-party, etc... Who cares about the semantics? The majority of people who collect Figuarts refer to Demonical Fit, Kong, and now Black Hole Toys as third-party which is meant to say it's a figure made by people trying to either give you a much cheaper alternative for a now very expensive SHF, as well as some unreleased characters using the same joint structure, whatever. Where as the terms KOs or Bootlegs are for the complete garbage like Legend Creation that are always advertised with the SHF stock photos and are just trying to trick you.
Unfortunately with crap like Bandai having sole licensing rights we can't see any other form of healthy competition as far as Dragon Ball Figures other than companies and releases like these.

I ordered Blackhole toys Ultra instinct Goku, not for the UI head but the Super Saiyan head look amazing especially since its obvious they copied figuarts awakening Goku's body. One of the SSJ heads is from just after he "kills" frieza and his hair is wind swept and he has the sad face on, so cool!

Only time I ever bought a fake(didn’t know) was a Neca Rocksteady and Bebop. One of the figures was wrapped in the box so I knew it was off. I do some digging
and what they do is take the rejected Neca figures from the factory and just sell or finish them. So they are fake but real but you wouldn’t know the difference besides maybe a loose arm or the accessories are different colors

it was on Amazon and the price was around the same price. Did some digging and it came from China and they have a whole business. I actually went thru a whole thing with amazon and it made them change the name from neca to something like zcx something but it still says neca and has the same pic in the descriptions

The issue with all knockoffs, so much smudges. Like they made it so much like the real thing, then ruin it with the careless smudges. Also how did you not mention the dress is in 2 pieces on the knockoff.

If you enjoy them that's all that matters! There is a large difference between the two lines though
3rd party wouldn't use a one for one this is a ko even though it's a tad different it's still the same. A third party would make their own design and molding. This is considered a 4th party or Knockoff. I find the same thing dealing with Transformers that will sometimes come in a different box and have a different feel but it's still a KO with the usual not as good paint job. It only matters with the mold being the same to define it as a ko

Certainly some differences in engineering like the plastics and joints. But for the bike they didn’t use metal like the real one

How is it a third party if it has the same sculpt, though? Same sculpt is a knockoff to me. Now, I’m not going to say don’t buy it. Especially when prices get stupid. Ramen Toy sculpts are original. They just skirt the license part.

Probably made at the same factory using older tooling , it happens often. Figuarts version may have had a revision, and instead of scrapping the steel molds they just use it after the retail run. Marvel legends is stinking with this stuff.
There’s a huge difference in quality and packaging between this Black Hole company and the bootlegs that show up in the same “SHFIGUARTS” box. The painting on those are hilariously bad.
