    Introducing the 2023 Radical MP! Like previous generations, this update delivers easy targeting and great feel to intermediate and advanced players. Compared to the Radical Pro, the MP is a tad lighter and faster, making it easier to whip up spin, scramble on defense or react quickly at net. For 2023 Head improves ball feedback with the addition of a uniquely flexible Auxetic construction to the yoke. This racquet also features Graphene 360+ (called Graphene Inside), which combines the stability and easy power of polarized weighting with SpiralFibers in the lower head for a softer feel. Like the previous generation, this racquet has Head's Control Pattern which features tighter mains in the center in order to deliver a more precise and predictable trajectory. The payoff is more confidence when turning up the pace. Ultimately, with subtle updates to the feel, the Radical MP will continue to attract intermediate and advanced players looking for a versatile player's racquet that keeps big cuts on target.

    Reminds my of the YT Halloween paintjob. I've watched many reviews of this racquet and everyone seems to love it. It's got some nice ATP endorsements too. I have a pair of the old YT Radical MPs and it makes for a great platform frame. Just add lead tape to your favorite spots and you can turn it into a variety of different racquets.

    Hi TW, I'm your new subscriber. which string do you recommend for the head radical mp 2023? Thanks. 😊

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Год назад

      There are a lot of good options for string, and a large part of the decision comes down to personal preference, playing level, playing style, and also if the player has a history or current arm problem; like tennis elbow or wrist issues. Most of our playtesters preferred strings like Head Lynx Tour 17 in the champagne color, or Solinco Hyper-G 1.25, or Volkl Cyclone 17, usually strung at about 52 pounds. All of these are poly strings, and recommended for players who want to maximize control and spin potential, but are not good choices for players with arm issues, as they are relatively stiff. TW: Austin: I have three concerns: touch shots, flat ( mostly flat shots both sides)and a one-hander… Would this radical be a better choice over the PA 98, or VCore 95?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Год назад +2

      @johnnacke2017
      There's a bit of give and take between comparisons across these three racquets:Touch Shots - The 2023 Radical feel is MUCH improved here, I thought the MP had impressive feel at net and with drop shots for a racquet series that is typically known for its flexibility. The PA 98 is 'ok' in this dimension and the VCore 95 feels the most muted of the three.Flat Shots - Comparatively, this is where the Rad MP wasn't as impressive as the other two:The PA 98 definitely has the most pop off the string-bed, the VCore 95 has the most "heft" AND entails a slightly higher launch + great spin production, the Rad MP feels the "quickest-swinging" of the three which really lets you amp up the racquet head speed but power and spin is still really, really good.OHBH -I'll be honest, the PA 98 isn't my favorite when it comes to a frame that seems particularly dialed-in for a OHBH, it works, but something about the hoop-shape and balance, I'm just not as comfortable laying into aggressive backhand strikes as frequently.The VCore 95 and Rad MP are much preferred but for different reasons (similar to the reasons mentioned above for flat-shots).Overall, I though the versatility of the Rad MP gives it the distinguishing edge here and I was comfortable playing virtually any shot from the backhand side.
      Austin, TW

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  6 месяцев назад

      They have pretty similar specs overall, however if I had to base it on feel I find a slightly more solid response with the TF40 (maybe due to the foam inside the frame) and a bit more precise feel, and with the Radical MP just a bit easier power, and maybe just a bit easier use. Troy, TW

      @EP-yc2gu Год назад

      @@jlparcerisa The feel difference between the 2021 and 2023 is small. The auxetic material, allegedly, made it softer but the only real difference I can feel is that the older version gives better feedback. Everything else is essentially the same, minus the cosmetic. To say that the old one feels harsh or painful in comparison is hyperbole at best. I’d say it’s no more than a 5% difference in feel.

    Jason: Like you, I play with the Prince Twistpower 100x, especially against those who are not hard hitters. I notice that the specs of this new Radical MP are equal to the Twistpower 100x Tour, with the exception of head size and rim width. I did try the TP 100x, but thought that it was a bit too heavy. I am looking for an addition racket that would enhance my game: 4.0 senior, one- handed backhand, minimal top spin, lots of flat / slice, and touch. I just ordered this radical. I also have my eye on the PA 98, too. You have test driven both, which IYO would better fit my style? Thanks, John

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Год назад +1

      I spoke with Jason about your question, and playing style, and he mentioned that the Radical MP should be a good choice. That said, I also noticed your question for Chris recently, and you mentioned that it wasn't working all that well on the one-handed backhand. I am not necessarily into the lighter racquets, typically preferring something 305 grams or higher. I know that a lot of our testers enjoyed testing the Prince Textreme 100 (290). I also haven't hit the current 2022 version, but in the past I have accidentally grabbed the EZONE 98L, thinking it was the standard 305 gram version, and I was pleasantly surprised how solid it felt for being a 285 gram frame. I can't really make much of a judgement on this MP version (I wasn't on this review), but as far as the Radical Pro 2023, the feel is pretty good actually. We all know that feel is a subjective thing, but even with the Pro having a stiffness of 64, that doesn't mean the feel is bad. And if you want something with a lower flex, just go with the Prestige Pro (60 stiffness), that racquet feels great. Troy, TW

    Going out on a limb here, but TW’s reviews are utterly useless, and we’re basically viewing to watch people play tennis. There’s zero value to any of the comments made. Every racquet is a gem or great for the right player. Might as well run a disclaimer that says, “we won’t sandbag any model because the manufacturers will get upset”. Just a thought.

    • @tenniswarehouse

      Thanks for the feedback! We encourage you to take a look at our written reviews as well which are thorough deep dives into the racquets and much more in depth. Also, it is worth sharing, we do our best to set up our playtesters up for success so if someone hits a racquet and initially really doesn't like it, they aren't going to be stuck playtesting a racquet that doesn't fit them for weeks. We definitely speak up when we don't like things -- sometimes it might be said in more constructive ways but we do our best to add value to the viewers, at the end of the day, we are a retailer, so yes, we promote selling tennis gear :) We also, always recommend demoing if/when you can and don't just take our word for it!
