    I love the whining sound of grass bugs.
    What season is your garden now?
    The season is opposite to that of Korea, so is it late summer or early autumn?
    Now, in Korea, spring has just begun.
    You are the one who grows succulents most similar to the way you grow succulents in Korea.
    I watch many channels abroad, but few people like you use crushed granite at the bottom of the pot to improve drainage.
    In Korea, because of the hot and humid summer, light volcanic stone, perlite, or granite is used as a drainage layer in the pots of succulents grown by individuals to improve the drainage of succulents.
    Say hello to your lovely parrot too~
    Have a happy day~

      We live in an area where I have access to granite and that's the reason I use them. Lots of healthy plants are growing in just straight granite here.
      It's now early Autumn and getting colder. Today is 19°C top temperature and some Autumn growing succulents are coloring up.

    Hey Liz 😊 just a tip, I discovered the hard way that the Chinese Dunce Cap succulent doesn’t do well with the Metho solution for aphids ☹️ mine just seemed to melt and get all soft straight after spraying and then died. I was able to get some tiny baby cutting that survived so fingers crossed they grow! If not it’s a good lesson anyway.

    Hello Liz, i feel i know you because i watch your videos everyday and i am in debted to you for teaching me so so so much! I am a new collector and have roughly 140 different succulents and cacti. I am always surprised by how many different strains and hybrids there are... Just WOW. i was curious to see if you found a strain of semperverium ODDITY hen and chicks. Reminds me of. Trumpet echaveria, i actually thought it was mislabeled when i found it. I havent seen it on any of your videos so i was curious if you have it in Australia. I am writing from the USA we have 4 seasons here in Pennsylvania too. Well keep up the great work, as i always look forward to your videos. I recently acquired Sedum Clavatum i fell. In love with it in your video, hope mine is as prolific as yours. Lots of love from USA XXXOO DAWN MARIE XXOO

    Hi Liz,
    I would like to start growing my succulent collection beyond the common varieties found at chain nurseries. I want to start collecting now so that I can eventually have a collection to be proud of, like you are!
    I'm in Sydney, where do you suggest sourcing succulents at affordable prices? Do you have any go to websites?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 года назад

      I don't buy online and mainly get my succulents locally from Bunnings and other plant nurseries here in Canberra. I also get them from other collectors and these rare varieties do cost a pretty penny. I suggest joining Facebook groups to source out the rare ones and also check out a few succulent sellers around your local area. You might be pleasantly surprise. Good luck.
