    I like the tip about firing the tricep at the bottom. I'll definitely do that.

    Awesome equipment! Great routine, I really like that you focused on all areas of the strength curve. Good to see biceps being trained using strict range of motions!

    When he says fire the triceps does he mean to also lock out the arm?

    • @mvvdII
      @mvvdII 7 лет назад +3

      It's oil yes. Look at the appearance of the arm.
      Even the forearm is small.
      Look at the old photos of his arm.
      I've been training for 30 years.
      I know when there is oil in the bicipes.
      Peace bro

      Marcos Romano training 30 years? Well that settles it then- you must be right . I've only been training 29 3/4 years, so I must defer to your expert opinion

    I know he is a world renowned trainer but his understanding of strength curves is wrong. The reason there IS a difference in the amount of muscle torque produced throughout the range of an exercise is due to inefficiencies. In the "stretched" position, such as the bottom of the curl, there is minimal overlap between muscle fiber cross bridges which is WHY you are weaker there. You are simply unable to recruit or create a lot of cross bridges, making you weak in that position. Overloading this portion of the range will NOT improve your ability to create cross bridges. It will also not stimulate better improvements in strength and size... it will do the opposite since you are stimulating less motor units in that position.
    If you want to receive the best response from training you must recruit and fatigue the most motor units possible. This happens in the STRONGEST portion of the strength curve. This is WHY you are the strongest at that part of the range of motion. For insance, at 90 degree elbow flexion in a standing bicep curl you are creating optimal over lap between cross bridges and recruiting the maximum number of motor units. This is why a simple standing bicep curl is a great exercise. At 90 degree elbow flexion, gravity is providing the most resistance on the barbell where your biceps is the strongest. The only reason you would use ANY range of motion is to hopefully find and challenge the strongest part of the muscle torque curve... since we dont know exactly where it is on every exercise. If we did, you could just do static contraction until muscle failure and you'd be done.

      Jay Vincent Regarding the first part of your lecture, I'm pretty sure he never said otherwise...

      So I can just static hold a dumbbell curl until failure and my bicep will grow?

    • @JorisWeima
      @JorisWeima 7 лет назад +1

      tdreamgmail It will grow but not as much as with actual dynamic reps because those target more motor units

    why do his biceps look "funny" uhhh the dudes 60 years old.
    btw how many olympic athletes have you all trained?
    exactly.... Poliquin charges about 20,000$$ for personally training program. so why dont you all stop hatimg, and appreciate Free advice from one of the best trainers on the planet ...

    • @joshualienhardt9229
      @joshualienhardt9229 6 лет назад

      junk ? yea okay you know his supplement/ steroid History dont you ! lol
      you know there are Doctors who prescribe Steroids and HGH n stuff legally right ???
      This guy was a huge proponent on having regular bloodwork by the top experts and doctors year round.... probably one of the smartest/safest in those terms.
      theres bodybuilders who dont get blood work and doctors watching them who live until there 90 .... so yea ,
      again You know heart attacks are very genetic and people are predisposed right?
      but you can provide the autopsy that he died due to steroid use... id like to see it 😉
      millions of people who die from heart attacks who domt take steroids and are "healthy"
      again
      you coupd spend your whole life studying strength and conditioning and not know half of what Charles Poliquin knew.
      anyone serious in the industry knows who he is and that hes one of the most instrumental people in the fitness industry
