I am from the US and pretty much ignorant of the protocols and regs for such things, and I catch myself yelling "don't touch!!!" when I watch some of these videos. I am pretty positive that if I ever get the chance to visit I would say to the guard, "forgive my ignorance, but I want to respect you and the horse and not overstep" before taking a selfie.
I would ask the guard if I could take a picture with him and his horse and if I could touch his horse out of respect. I'm not sure if I'd get a response or not.
I'm also from the U.S. I know I'd know I wouldn't touch a mounted police horse without asking. These horses are working.
Or, remember, these guys are doing a job, and you not take a selfie at all, but stand away and just take a picture. I'm sure you would be pissed if you had hundreds of people coming up to you every day while you're working just to take a selfie. It ain't Disney land.
I agree! I’d respect them by not taking a selfie at all! I don’t get the narcissism of humans since cell phones came around. How many pictures do you need of yourself! Be in the moment & just appreciate the gorgeous, working horse & guard.
@@louisejackson8770 You can take a selfie from an appropriate distance. Much further away than many I see in these videos. But I would still ask the guard, because I would never let anyone I don't know hold my phone. The guard's opinion is the only opinion I care about in this regard.
@@Joywldlife I usually never take sefies, but in this case I would because I never let anyone hold my phone that I do not know. That is a good way for it to get stolen. Still, like I mentioned in my answer to the other person, I would ask the guard first and do it from an appropriate distance. If the guard said "no," then no it is, end of story. The guard's opinion is the only one I care about.
Fantastic change of horses and guards. Great to see them telling people off not a letting them run the show. Ty for your service 🐴✨️
I love ig when the Guard adds his voice to the police officers requests to move back.
I recall an occasion when a tourist ignored both police and Guard and stood his ground quite close to the gates. When the Guard was nodded on to move from the box he rode straight towards said tourist....who moved pdq!!
I loved it.
Respect our Guards,please.
Finally the guards are getting tough. Good for them! Don't let up!
😊😅❤❤
😊😅❤
About bloody time 🧐
The King needs to stop allowing anyone to touch the horses or get near the guards. It's his responsibility. But of course he's not really a king.
Good to see police officers and guard taking charge
They always do at changeover time.
some times they do, mostly they are chatting to each other..... and are looking the ohter way........
Why can't people keep their hands to themselves? I was taught when I started walking, "Don't touch!"
Exactly ☺️
That's right my mother taught me: you look with your eyes and not with your hands
@@Everlien7184 I remember those same words spoken to me. God bless mothers
Me too......constantly.
Because most people feel entitled. They think rules don't apply to them. Narcissists.
Good to see the police and royal guards sorting the tourist out nice one
It was lovely to see people thanking the guard for photos
Somebody everywhere is always trying to buck authority no matter what! Pitiful 😢
Priceless, when the Handsome Guard grin, after his Majestic horse shook himself, and scared the people 🤣❤😊
Easy way to remember how to behave around the Household Cavalry
A - Ask politely and nicely.
R - Reins are for Riders
S - Soldiers not Entertainers.
E - Everything can startle a horse.
D - Don't forget the thank you.
Brilliantly said Elliot, The Thank You is rarely heard at Horse Guards and yet so simple to say
Actually, almost NOTHING can startla these horses, well-trained as they are. But sometimes a horse that would jump through the fire for its rider without hesitation would also spook from a wrapping paper on the ground that wasn't there the day before.
And read the Guide book....
I like - Reins are for Riders. I wish that could have been on the Warning Sign. But I know that not many people take notice of the Sign. If I were there, I would tell each Reins grabber, those words. Among the more sensible tourists, are too many Distracted or Clueless. 🇬🇧
You can tell the horses don’t like being touched by strangers just leave them alone
I admire the tourists who thank the guards!
Write it on the sign:"Don't touch the horses".
Some of the horses love a pat and sometimes even a mint if approved. Each horse has a personality where one would rip your face off, another would grin and kiss you. Just be gentle and ask the trooper where the best place to pat his horse his, then you won't get bitten. Also do not wear perfume or cologne.
Touching the horses is allowed. Just not the reins.
This part of the job is being a tourist attraction!
Or perhaps you thought sitting on a horse in that uniform serves some military purpose? !!
@@adrianwright8685 I think, the problem is solved. See the signs "Don't touch the reins" 🤷.
@@realist8977 glad you agree!
They are not a tourist attraction. They protect the area.
They really need to stop people ALL PEOPLE from touching horse. It's getting worse.
Winter will be here soon and the tourists will mainly stop.
Touching the horses is allowed. Just not the reins.
This part of the job is being a tourist attraction!
@@adrianwright8685No the guards are there to protect the military base. Don't be so naive.
If the Behaviour is Suspect Challenge Them.
This is simple. Just as a police dog is considered a police officer. These horses are soldiers. You give them the same space and respect as you would give a person. Don't touch, don't engage them. They are on duty. Simple.
2 rude men. One told by two police to move back, first he ignored and second he debated with. Does he expect them to hold up the change so he can go where he want. The other the guard yelled at was a chancer. He just had to be further forward than everyone else. Some people just do not like to be told what to do.
It is for their safety and the safety of the horses. I mean it is not rocket science.
I bet the guards and horses are glad when the end of the day comes.
I never understand why people feel the need to touch the horses , get your photo and move on.
I have always wanted to come to the UK so thank you for making this video.
Was always told look with your eyes not with your hands
Good that there is police protection for King's Guards and King's Guard´s horses. Some tourists who are provocating King's Guards or Police Officers should be removed immediately from the area.
Respect for King's Guards, King's Guard´s horses and Police Officers who have to coop with disrespectfull tourists.
Good on the guard ,some tourists need to listen, respect
What happened tothis guard? I have not seen him in several months. He was one of my favorites. I wish the best to you wherever the road takes you. Just know you were a one of the best and I enjoyed watching you guard for the Queen and the King and taking care of the King's horses.
Well done to the guard, the cops need to up their game.
It doesn't matter if someone complains about one of the guards, nothing will happen. It matters if someone complains about one of the police officers, this is the stupid society we live in now.
Great they told the guy out till changing
Ormonde, what a wonderful horse!
This horse is Ormonde and she will happily take anyone out on her own…let her at him!!
Tourists are always getting Distracted here. IT IS A CONSTANT DANGER, judging by the countless Incidents that have happened here .🇬🇧
What 'incidents'? Tourists told not to touch the reins and to stand behind the barrier lines during changeover is the only time they are yelled at. The signs clearly warn them that the horses might bite but I've never seen or heard of an 'incident' where an ambulance has to be called!
@@jillosler9353 People have been bitten, and butted getting too close to the horse, more worrying, children also. The way things are, it's only a matter of time, before an Ambulance is called !! You Clearly, haven't seen many of these films and Comments, otherwise you would not question what I and many other people have seen on these films, and often commented on with much Concern !!??🇬🇧
@@ginettechiverton7113 There is a sign warning against this and it is also just common sense, natural selection i guess
The police have so much gear on it's a wonder they can move.
They're kitted for counterterrorism so they're wearing body armour as well as the usual equipment.
The guards kit weighs about 80 lbs. Even more in cold weather with the heavy wool coat.
What an arrogant man to think he didn’t have to follow orders. 😠
He should have been arrested immediately just by wearing those shorts.
The black and white uniforms are so sharp looking.
As a respectful lover of all animals an d nature I can not tolerate the ignorance an d abuse these majestic animals have to put up with an d their guards.
Please king Charles an d all your animal loving family stop the abuse of these beautiful horses an d the guards.
Protect them from so called human beings please 💖
How did the woman at 8.10 get away with the hold on the bridle?? 🤬
One tall dude at the start of the clip😗😗😗
Reminds me of one of the legendary Harlem Globetrotters!
Still wearing his short trousers, big chap.
Looks like his trousers were divorcing his ankles and marrying his knees😂
I think its wonderful how the British people honor their past. They honor the Kingdom and I think that's a very noble thing! Best regards always!!
The cameraman obviously thought the same thing I did about the muppet in the black old ladies hat.💂♂️🇬🇧
Imagine being a part of Napoleons infantry in 1815 fighting at Waterloo and seeing & hearing these cavalry en masse high above you bearing down & facing slashing swords & iron shod hooves. Absolutely terrifying.
Why don't they arrest them? There's too much of a slap on the wrist as "punishment "
No wonder the police get no respect
Arrest them for what crime exactly? Being stupid?
For what ? What offence ? It's also not up the police to decide on punishment. These are mod police who have very little trianing in law and legislation, not like a home office force. They are there basically as armed security in the event of a terror attack.
"The Police Officers and Guard saw this and Yelled Massively at Him" Where❓
@@adrenalinejunkie3828
Thank you. I'm trying to understand what the guard said.
@@Frostyblu "Move back behind the bollards Sir. Get back."

Um cavalo kkkk
Lovely respect for the young lady. VOIDRAKER SAY'S YES.😊
Who is this challenger who is a runner up to our famous Ellis? What is his name?😘 You did know that Ellis is now a married man. I saw a wedding on his left hand while working the group of people at the back while the horses were being changed.
@ Annerichard5266oh golly, trooper Ellis now married, ?? All my hopes are dashed,😢😢 I'll just have to keep looking, wishing and hoping 😅😅😅
😊 yes I watched him and a woman kissing in the back the guards shop. Nice looking together.
I just sat and watched 20 people take a selfie with a horse.
What else do I have in store for this amazing day.
Well done guards ❤
The tall blackman is acting oddly 😮😂
Can you imagine how hard it must be for that horse to take in all that noise!
Maybe somewhere deep down we viewer's don't mind the occasional shout it's interesting. What is more interest is watching the relationship between horse and soldiers
The Guards look so so much better minus the heavy coats.
How very pleasing to hear the appreciation many tourists showed today.
Do you think the message is beginning to sink in?
This one bites. This horses head movements say don’t touch me. I love it when it’s horse 1 and visitor 0. Yay horse. You warned them.
Rude? Well that's a very polite way to describe him.😂
That female Trooper seems to appear quite a lot on these vids recently
What will the tourists do when their access to the Horses is cut off?
I hope they get barred from touching the horses. Period.
Polite and no nonsense ,cheer from me 👍
I would love to see them stop these crazies from touching the horses. They can have their pictures taken without manhandling the gorses and guards. They should take that into consideration.
These stupid tourists don't seem to realise that these guards are actually working and not there for their benefit as tourist attractions. The guards should be treated with more respect and definitely with more common sense.

I like the larger horses - people don’t seem to approach them the same way. If if they “Nip” all the better.
I am writing this from Canada
I feel sorry for the horses, every second person grab or touch the horses. This needs to stop. Pls Kings guard, many ask this, whats gonna happen about it?
quelles sont les heures de garde de ces cavaliers ?
I was really dissatisfied with what the tourists did to the horses and royal guards, they were treated no differently than items displayed at an antique exhibition. Despite the strong intervention from the security staff but this insult was only slightly reduced.
Excuse me for this ignorance... but I wonder if this is the right thing for the government to allow them to freely enter and exit the royal palace as if they were shopping in a supermarket, even littering in front the gate one of the most noble dignity places in England ?
Shame on them good for you. 😊
Guard does nothing again, between 9-12 minutes, people pulling on reins and pushing horses head.
Shocking job for a horse….
Love the way they both acknowledged each other.
❤Ormonde♥️
Fake credits, the police officer is asking people to get behind the bollards as the bell signifies the changing of the guard, the baldish guy was just confused not rude, and the Cavalry Soldier shouted to tell people to get back
Who would waste their time going to this place lol?
Why are most of the tourists so creepy and cringe? They just stand and stare at the guards and the horses. It's creepy.
Argh, that one woman grabbec the Harness rather than the Reins. WHY are people so Grabby?
They should stop them touching the horses, anything could be in their hands
LADIES....Where is Trooper Ellis ? The Guard on the Right is Very Handsome he may give Trooper Ellis a Good Run in the Looks Dept.!! lol
Ellis is a gentleman. The handsome guard is mysterious
Ladies and gentlemen take a cold shower.
Lol about Ellis he's cute but I guess he has a. Girlfriend or a wife. So just keep looking.❤❤❤
@@mariongriffiths1066he has a lovely partner.

4:00 good on the guard for telling the stupid tourists i like he was quick to say move behind the bollards you got told
You will do as you are told mate
Wow the armed police officer must be 5ft tall the gun is bigger than him! How not impresive
The problem is that we rely on the tourism to keep our economy going but there should be a happy medium so that everyone is happy without having to shout?
How long is each guard and horse have to stand there until the next set comes in ?
One hour.
One hour.
Weird how ppl insist in touching the horse 😾
I'd keep well away , especially if armed, but that's just me
Que ....pasa .....que todo el....mundo....viaja a ese pais ...solo......cuantos... Turistas ..... 🤷🙏🤦
Not sure whether to call that a lot of pomp or a lot of poop!
Pienso porque la gente tiene esa necesidad de sacarse una foto con los guardias y que se queden ahi como pavos mirandolos , no es un circo, ni un zoo.Son tan molestos !Si se dieran cuenta lo ridiculos que se ven !
It’s not a petting zoo is it?
DH tourist with cap. Super arrogant.
Nice one👍👍
Didn’t see anyone yelling!! 👎👎
They really attract the wired and peculiar I wonder where they all come from? Is there a mental health hospital close by?
this guard looks like he's 16
That's called animal cruelty keeping the horse standing like that for not good reason for the animal.
Poor horse
What are they there for
How long do Horses Trail with There Riders before ready for Duty ?
What’s going on with the female’s curb chain? It’s supposed to be under the bottom lip, not under the chin. 💂♂️🇬🇧
The title of this clip is ridiculous
I didn't see any confrontation in this video.
