- Knies is a very unique player. For a 6"3 210-pound player, he has some insane skills and shots. He played for Minnesota this year on the same line as Logan Cooley and Jimmy Snuggerud.
Toronto fans should be very excited for this guy because he looks insane

good pick by the leaf he is very good
Looks like a steaal
the cooley knies combo is nasty
And snuggerud… best line in the NCAA by far
@@TChockey if knies' game translates well to the NHL, the knies-matthews-marner line could be the best in the NHL one day
@@TChockey absolutly even Michigan does'nt have a top line as lethal as this one...
@@TheKitKatThe very fair take yep
@@user-ed6nt1ml6p he has been better than i expected him to be so far in this playoff season
last fall I watched a video of Andrei Kuzmenko's highlights (before he played for the nucks) and l thought to myself, wow. And last year watching hiim play was so exciting. And this video ladies and gentlemen, gives me the same feeling
Awesome!
Got u my man
Welcome to the Leafs!! 👍
Wow I didn’t realize the kid was this good
Same! I didn’t know he was this skills
Damn good player!!
Oh yeah so good
W video
W man
It's like watching someone play Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey.
You'd think he's he second coming of Wayne Gretzky by how all the Toronto media is acting. That's the center of the universe for ya.
He is gonna be good but yeah they are overhyping him a little bit
good game good game
Yeah very good game
Can you do cooleys highlights of the season
For 6’3 he has hands baby
Oh yeah!
He looks slow I guess because of his size but like dekes guys out and has good stick handling...also protects the puck so well from stick checks...very creative...unselfish player...I'm looking so forward to watching his career.
the hands are bonkers but why is he trying to dangle in some of these situations.
Against easier competition it works well but it will not work like that at the NHL level
Exactly….
There’s a kid who should’ve got fostered into the CHL his game would be even better! Hopefully he develops with the leafs.
No doubt he will develop well in Toronto… he already looked very good in his first 2 games
Wrong wrong wrong😊
CHL is literally lower level than NCAA d1
Bring knies in the playoffs leafs please
Could be nice to see !
why is it common now for the ncaa to play olimpic sized ice sheets?
Lots of hype for this kid, but there’s some serious holes in his game, he’ll have to work his butt of to be a regular
He still needs a couple of years of development for sure but he really has great tools already
Wrong,,,,,younsuck at evaluating talent
This comment didn’t age well considering he’s penciled I. To the top six after a good playoff run cut short by a dirty player who couldn’t even do one pull up at the draft combine in his year.
Well he’s not overhyped just sucks that he played so well in playoffs but he’s on the leafs
he did great this year. A legit top 6 guy in the futur no doubt
Is it me, or does the NCAA play on international ice? The size disparity of players can’t be that big to make them look that small
Yeah they do, the ice is way larger and the neutral zone is a lot bigger too
the guy always rushes into the goaler xdd
this guy is gonna get rocked in his first 2 weeks, someone should let him know the value of passing, and not just when you run out of room
Rocked?, He's 6'3' and 222 pounds...good luck with that assessment.
He does pass the puck my guy but I only choose clips where we can see his individual abilities
He looked great in the playoffs.. 6’3 220+..
Yea 6’3” 220 at 20 years old. Give him 5 years and he’ll be our Tkachuck
Looks like he's doing just fine
Papi 2.0
I see more of Matthew Tkatchuk in him than Papi tbh
look at all these people in here trying so hard to convince themselves that he isn't good, that he won't be able to transition to the NHL .. SMH i bet if he was a Pens prospect or something ya'll would be suckling at the teet
I think that some people are thinking that he is gonna be a superstar in the NHL and that's why other calls him overrated but with great development he could be a good top 6 guy and a great complementary piece to Matthews and Marner
That’s funny! You’re probably right! Leafs fans (I’m the biggest) are everywhere: we’re just begging for a winner. 😳😉
Has to stop making those blind passes to the slot
His IQ is not the best
You guys all suck at recognizing talent….he already on the top two lines
Everybody had their worries about him but he has been absolutely amazing this far. He could be a x factor for the leafs for the rest of the playoffs
he's really good, but he gotta learn how to pass more, and cut out the antics after he scores. He will be humbled very quickly in the AHL or NHL if he makes the cut. GO LEAFS GO
He does pass the puck more than what you see in these clips. I tried to show his individual abilities more than his al’ around game. But leafs got a great one in him
Antics? He should celebrate and is all ready bigger and stronger than the vast majority of nhl players
NCAA is kind of a joke though. It rarely ever translates to NHL. NCAA players care more about being flashy than the fundamentals, causing them to get steamrolled in the show. There's 0 hits in NCAA
Well the ice is way larger in the NCAA so there is more space for skills player so ofc they are gonna be more consistent with there dekes. But yeah you are right 90% of these flashy play won’t work against NHL competition
The CHL is still overall more skilled but college hockey is as strong as it’s ever been. Jack Eichel, Cale Makar, Adam Fox, Quinn Hughes, Charlie McAvoy, Trevor Zegras, Cole Caufield, etc.
Then you’ve got guys like Fantilli, Hughes, Cooley, Knies coming in, and while all unproven, they all have a high upside too
You must be blind. There are so many skilled college players in the NHL right now.
The fuck are you talking about? New to hockey I see.
The physicality won't be an issue he us already 6'3 210.
When he actually plays against talent he’s horrible. Trying to deke into like 3 guys and loosing it because he doesn’t have the actual skill. Half of these dekes here are him failing but he still corrals it because the players are so bad. Did you see him in the world juniors he looked like he had low iQ. He’s overrated but for what he actually is a 2nd round pick he’ll be a decent 3rd liner. Maybe net front guy. But this guy doesn’t belong in the top 6 with guys that have iQ and playmaking ability. He should just be a net front guy on the 2nd PP and then a work horse individual guy on the 3rd line. He’s also not NHL ready at all. He will struggle hard and contemplate his decision. Because it seems like the Leads are trying to rush him
I realise that too don’t worry. An important point to look to are his line-mate. Cooley and Snuggerud are the real stud on that line but Knies is a good complementary player to them. He could potentially be a top 6 player on a weaker team in the NHL imo tho
you are right however, he is young and when he makes the transition to the NHL or Marlies he will have some learning curve and he will get better, he has ton of potential to be a great power forward.
@@rogersalles200 well said my guy
Kinda weird to act like a guy as good as he is won’t be able to improve and adjust his game
@@austincosman2907 he will no doubt about it, it will maybe take a couple of years but who cares
