I’ve seen a few people sum it up pretty well. It looks like a average John Wick knock off with a crow flying around in the background. It’s really lacking a sense of style.

WATCHMEN for example the movie is the closest thing you’ll ever get to novel/comic accuracy and people shitted on it when it came out. All I’m saying is for the sake of Brandon Lee’s legacy they could’ve just made their own or yea tried to follow one of the other iterations.

27 people have come back as The Crow. 27 different stories to pull from. To me this feels much closer to Michael Korby's run as the character than Eric Draven, so why not just call him that? Leave Eric Draven alone.

2:44 the effects are so bad. Look at the gun firing. Absolutely zero recoil or realism. This is going to be so heavy on the CGI, and if they can't even put enough effort into the film to at least make the action seem somewhat realistic I shudder to think how bad the rest of the film will be. Look back at the scene where Eric goes into the night club at the end of the film, and all the criminals open fire on him while he's on the table. Brutal and realistic. Also, they kill Eric and Shelly (if that's still her name) with bags over their heads? Really? The brutality of the original deaths made such an impact, and were so poignant. Such a silly way for them to die, I mean their hands were free and right by their faces... just tear a hole in the bag? Lol. Do filmmakers not think of this stuff? This looks more like John Wick than a proper Crow film.
Idk if u guys knew this but this move has been done filming since September 2022 it took 2 years to find a company to release it in theaters Look it up and u'll see
They only started post-production in September 2022, and they’d negotiated a lot of the distribution before that. Also, September 2022 to March 2024 isn’t two years.
So my brother gave me the crow comic right before he died in 1989, so I’m way more part of this than most , this movie is missing the gothic tone , but there is a chance it could be a good movie , we’ll have to see , do wish it was more 80s goth of course , but there are things I see in this trailer from the comics that wasn’t in any other film so we’ll see , he looks good
Im such a fan of the original and dont think it needed to be remade. All they had to do was have a different character and id be kinda stoked. I saw the original movie in 4th grade and was obsessed with it. Pretty sure i looked like an odd bird by how much i loved it. Skarsgard is a great actor imo but i just feel dirty thinking this movie is about to be a thing.

Brandon lees was basically Eric Draven, I enjoyed how they introduced another crow character in city of angels. It would have been sick if this one would have brought in a new crow since bill almost resembles Micheal korby’s crow since he has almost the same build along with the random tattoos. I’ll probably give it a look when it hits streaming services
im going to go into this with an open mind.. im not a fan of the music choice for the trailer.. wanted something slower.. but clearly there showing you the story is slightly altered so we shouldnt be expecting it to be the same.. i like the punisher/john wick vibe for the character.. im a fan of Skatsgard & Huston as the villian.. but not a fan of Skarsgards cut.. but i think if you’re a real fan of the original you should want this to be successful.. we’ll see

everyone needs to understand it's number one a reboot number two modernized,based in present day.when the original crew came out everybodydidn't go see it it wasn't a huge hype.it's made most of its money over the years with VHS ,DVD ,and Blu-ray sales.and in that process it became a cult classic.the only change I would have done different is I wouldn't have called them Eric draben.I would have went with a different Crow name or a total out of the blue cool name.that way it wouldn't necessarily been a reboot it would have been all its own.based on the crow but it's on story.I believe it's not going to hit at first,but over time it will fall right in place with one of the goats.
I think its lacking in the style that makes it a crow, and i think the villains being white collar conspiracy esque guys kinda takes away from the tragedy of Eric and Shelly dying so violently by random chance. That said, i think it on itself seems like a decently made and well shot, if slightly generic, supernatural revenge movie

this version is not as good as the earlier version with Brandon Lee. Bill should not have touched the lead character at all. the music was not as good as the version that had Brandon Lee in it, the actors do not input the same atmosphere as the first one did. (PS Top Dollars gf in first one was played by Bai Ling.) And the Gothic feel of the first one did not get embraced by this one. this one is a failure , through and through.

Movie looks abysmal, if you take away the crow asthetic it could be any old modern revenge film. The Only interesting thing is the kiĺls are gory but even that is dragged down by the Horrible CGI. Another issue I have is why not just change the identity of the crow to a new person? Why use Eric Draven and not make the character or the city look correct or close to the actual identity of the character/city?
This is just a cash grab capitalizing on name recognition. Eric and Shelly being drug addicts misses the mark. He doesn't become the crow until the end of the movie. The old guy stealing the souls of younger people so he can live longer is dumb. The tattoos are awful. Wtf is the nipple tattoo?!? They're just making it more gorey in the trailer to get people to watch it. He doesn't become the crow until the end of the movie, most of the movie is them meeting and falling in love at drug rehab. They runaway from rehab to do lots of drugs and have sex. The trailer showed you most of the action in the movie. I agree, 27 different people have been the crow, there was no need to name the character Eric Draven.
This just looks like an incredibly generic movie. From the trailer, it doesn’t seem like The Crow at all. I don’t necessarily want the same atmosphere as the ‘94 movie, but an atmosphere of some sort would be good. This just looks like CGI gore and dull dialogue. I wasn’t super interested in seeing this, but I’m not interested at all after seeing this. This trailer’s goal seems to be proving that gore can be bland.

Nothing can live up to the original, but doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed. Not everyone has to dissect every little detail to a movie. Some people such as myself can just shut the brain off and enjoy them. Is it going to be as magnificent as the original? Probably not but i think it has potential to be good in its own way.

In this trailer we can see more about Eric and Shelly relationship that looks good but the background location moved from the gothic and dark city ruled by anarchy and street gangs to some big metropolis ruled by a criminal organization with this rich tycoon as the main boss. Eric is some sort of comunist hero who fights against the capitalism. \\\\\\\\SPOILER ALERT/////////// DON'T MOVE ON IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE SURPRISE EFFECT YOU'RE WARNED //////////////////////////////////// I read a leak about the plot from this guy called Mr H Reviews that had from an anonymous source who watched a screening test of the movie after the filming end in 2022. This guy said the movie starts with Eric and Shelly first encounter in a rehab for drug addicted people, they fall in love then they escape from the facility and they set up in a new town starting over their new life together. They have some sex,drug and rock n roll relationship untill the main antagonist of the story pops up, the rich boss called Mr Roeg has supernatural abilities that allows him to collect people souls using them to extend his life. Roeg has a connection to Shelly's past and she has to bear witness to his process so he sends his thugs to kill her, Eric gets caught in the middle of this and killed too. He then wakes up in this supernatural limbo where this guy introduce him to his new after life mission, he can chose to save Shelly's soul from Hell by sacrificing his one through revenge, so he comes back to life with the immortality skill. Here we see a more vulnerable version of Eric at first, that can feel pain and he's not much capable with getting revenge because of the Shelly's death trauma that still lives in his mind. This Eric gets stronger through the movie and more resistant until he turns into the violent killer we see in the last part.

The guy said he liked Bill's acting and Shelly's actress too but he complained about the slower rhythm that moved all the action to the very last part of the movie. I'm more worried about this new nemesis that looks like something already seen and i'm waiting to check if he can stand the love relationship that's behind the all work.
😮 i won't be watching this. CGI because no one wants to clean up. The last good movie i watched was Hereditary. i love a good flowing story line and imagery that matches the story. i'm a tough critic and i'm not going to subject myself to watch...no offense intended.
It is not more accurate to the comic. The original movie was pretty close to the original story published by Caliber Press back in '89. Some names were changed, and there was some slight retuning of characters, and the circumstances of Eric and Shelly's deaths were altered to be a bit more "cinematic," but that's all standard fare when it comes to adapting a story to a new medium (those level of changes occurred in the Lord of the Rings movies for example). This version doesn't seem to have anything in common with the original story besides the main character being named Eric (he didn't have a last name until the Brandon Lee movie) and not painting his face white. Perhaps there is some parallels with this movie and something published by IDW, but none of those stories revolve around Eric Draven like the movie seemingly does.
LOL. I have a super embarrassing anecdote about this. It wasn't until I met a Brandon in real life, and was told off for constantly mispronouncing his nam, that I realised Brandon and Brendon were not the same name. I thought it was purely a dialect thing lmao. I was 22 years old at the time.

This is just a cash grab capitalizing on name recognition. Eric and Shelly being drug addicts misses the mark. He doesn't become the crow until the end of the movie. The old guy stealing the souls of younger people so he can live longer is dumb. The tattoos are awful. Wtf is the nipple tattoo?!?
They're just making it more gorey in the trailer to get people to watch it. He doesn't become the crow until the end of the movie, most of the movie is them meeting and falling in love at drug rehab. They runaway from rehab to do lots of drugs and have sex. The trailer showed you most of the action in the movie.
I agree, 27 different people have been the crow, there was no need to name the character Eric Draven.

This just looks like an incredibly generic movie. From the trailer, it doesn’t seem like The Crow at all. I don’t necessarily want the same atmosphere as the ‘94 movie, but an atmosphere of some sort would be good. This just looks like CGI gore and dull dialogue.
I wasn’t super interested in seeing this, but I’m not interested at all after seeing this. This trailer’s goal seems to be proving that gore can be bland.

I hear ya. The original is a classic, and if you just don't want to see it changed, that's totally legitimate. Personally, if it was a one to one remake, I'd be less interested because we already have the original. I'm still only cautiously optimistic. I'm not sold on this by any means. -Nathan

Nothing can live up to the original, but doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed. Not everyone has to dissect every little detail to a movie. Some people such as myself can just shut the brain off and enjoy them. Is it going to be as magnificent as the original? Probably not but i think it has potential to be good in its own way.

In this trailer we can see more about Eric and Shelly relationship that looks good but the background location moved from the gothic and dark city ruled by anarchy and street gangs to some big metropolis ruled by a criminal organization with this rich tycoon as the main boss. Eric is some sort of comunist hero who fights against the capitalism.

I read a leak about the plot from this guy called Mr H Reviews that had from an anonymous source who watched a screening test of the movie after the filming end in 2022.
This guy said the movie starts with Eric and Shelly first encounter in a rehab for drug addicted people, they fall in love then they escape from the facility and they set up in a new town starting over their new life together. They have some sex,drug and rock n roll relationship untill the main antagonist of the story pops up, the rich boss called Mr Roeg has supernatural abilities that allows him to collect people souls using them to extend his life. Roeg has a connection to Shelly's past and she has to bear witness to his process so he sends his thugs to kill her, Eric gets caught in the middle of this and killed too.
He then wakes up in this supernatural limbo where this guy introduce him to his new after life mission, he can chose to save Shelly's soul from Hell by sacrificing his one through revenge, so he comes back to life with the immortality skill.
Here we see a more vulnerable version of Eric at first, that can feel pain and he's not much capable with getting revenge because of the Shelly's death trauma that still lives in his mind. This Eric gets stronger through the movie and more resistant until he turns into the violent killer we see in the last part.
Woah yea, it makes sense. So a bit of a difference from the original!

The guy said he liked Bill's acting and Shelly's actress too but he complained about the slower rhythm that moved all the action to the very last part of the movie. I'm more worried about this new nemesis that looks like something already seen and i'm waiting to check if he can stand the love relationship that's behind the all work.

😮 i won't be watching this. CGI because no one wants to clean up. The last good movie i watched was Hereditary. i love a good flowing story line and imagery that matches the story. i'm a tough critic and i'm not going to subject myself to watch...no offense intended.

This Crow is from a different Crow comic book from the 90s.
Its not a remake of the brandon lee movie, its an adaptation of the comic book and seems to be way more accurate to the comic.
It is not more accurate to the comic. The original movie was pretty close to the original story published by Caliber Press back in '89. Some names were changed, and there was some slight retuning of characters, and the circumstances of Eric and Shelly's deaths were altered to be a bit more "cinematic," but that's all standard fare when it comes to adapting a story to a new medium (those level of changes occurred in the Lord of the Rings movies for example).
This version doesn't seem to have anything in common with the original story besides the main character being named Eric (he didn't have a last name until the Brandon Lee movie) and not painting his face white. Perhaps there is some parallels with this movie and something published by IDW, but none of those stories revolve around Eric Draven like the movie seemingly does.

LOL. I have a super embarrassing anecdote about this. It wasn't until I met a Brandon in real life, and was told off for constantly mispronouncing his nam, that I realised Brandon and Brendon were not the same name. I thought it was purely a dialect thing lmao. I was 22 years old at the time.

The crow is way deeper.. search it up watch the first 58 min vid abt the comic and the inspiration for the character. You’ll see everything clearer this rebut is like a spit in the face almost
