0:57 for those who don't know the tragedy, a prop gun had malfunctioned during attack where Brandon's character is shot point blank in the chest during the flashbacks. The cap had gotten stuck in the barrel, and then, when they did take again, the prop manager had not inspected the weapon before doing so, and as a result, the pressure released when the trigger was pulled projected the cap out like an actual bullet, and struck Brandon in the abdomen.

@@bobvargo4483if you know the full story behind this it’s a literal disrespect to the crow bru. The creator made the crow because his parter got killed by a drunk driver, hence you can see why Eric and Shelly are the type of people they are. Taking in a girl to save her from her druggie mother, Eric telling others to not smoke or do drugs, etc. in the remake however, they turn Eric and Shelly into the exact thing they fight against. Like I think we got 5 lines combined between the two of them in the whole 3 min trailer, like they deliberately didn’t show his acting (like what they did for the new Batman). How could you know what they “turned into” if we haven’t seen it, like he doesn’t even look like a hench men from the first one. And again it’s not meant to be a shot for shot remake, y’all would’ve hated that a lot more, it’s just the director putting his own take on a character that he probably enjoyed when he was younger, we see this happen all the time. we can’t just base this new movie off of 3 min of trailer and a movie that came out 30 years ago

I've just seen bits and pieces of it over the years, but I remember when it first came out."When I was developing this Crow character, I wasn't thinking about the movie at all. I was thinking about Kiss, I was thinking about Rocky Horror, I was thinking about Batman. As a 90’s kid who loves the 1994 version and considers it THE cinematic version of ‘The Crow’, people decrying that this version is “disrespectful” to Brandon Lee need to calm down. Like you said, remakes and reimagining are a thing and always have been. When I first watched the trailer, I was disappointed because the first film was just so ahead of it’s time that it didn’t need a remake. After rewatching the trailer, I’ve been gravitating more and more to the idea that this is going to be very good and accepting the fact that this is more a standalone Crow movie.

Brondon's movie consistently tops my 5 all time favorite movies, with the other 4 varying. I know that this movie will not replace that, but I don't want it to. Its just another telling of the same story. I am so excited for it! My hope is that this will do well enough that they continue on with the other Crow stories, for a new fan base, and for us who deserve their stories to be told properly.

  • @pragmata7997

It's interesting how artistically clueless people are nowadays. They don't even know what a reboot means anymore. Reboots are reinterpretations, re-adaptations of a work, simply comparing them to the original is foolish. Each work is a product of its time; the aesthetic of the original work may not fit today's standards since it was created. Another point is people thinking a reboot comes to replace or erase the original. No! That's not how things work. You can still watch the original and find it better, but you can also give the new one a chance. Another thing is the culture of hating, hating on things before even watching them; it's just stupid and petty. Well, I hope people raise their artistic standards, and I hope this reboot turns out to be a good movie.

My main issue is this version does not feel like Eric Draven’s (Brandon Lee) Crow. People don’t know The Crow was a comic novel and Eric Draven was the first in the comics to become the crow and other novels later new characters became one too after the previous ones get their revenge. That’s what this version feels like. This does not give me Eric Draven vibes even though that’s who he’s playing. Eric was supposed to have the OG look. That’s why people are mad

Okay, don't come at me. Just hear me out.
I'm going to see this movie because I'm interested. However, there is something very important missing from this small taste of a trailer.
    It's the "coolness ".
Brandon Lee's Eric Draven was it cool because that's the way he was written or costumed or directed. His coolness came from the character himself. Call Brandon Lee infused himself into the role.
What's lacking in this trailer may not necessarily be lacking in the movie. It's only a teaser, after all.
What's lacking in the trailer For Me (as that's the only person I'm speaking for) is that "coolness" -- in the characters (plural), the aesthetics, and the creativity.
To paraphrase Yoda, the object is not to Try. It's to just Do.
James Cagney. John Wayne. Samuel L Jackson. Bruce Willis. Keanu Reeves. Billy Dee Williams. Even characters that are dorky (McLovin), nerdy (Kick Ass), aloof (Wednesday), and optimistic (Luffy).
They're genuinely interesting because they're Not like everyone else, and that makes them Cool.
Think of the incredible people they played and you don't see an Attempt to be cool. You see a person embodying another "person," embuing and infusing, making that character a bad azz. Cool.
In several of the threads, I read that the director was trying to make a movie that had an aesthetic that translated today's vision of itself, per se, in the same way the original movie translated the aesthetics of the 90s.
But, maybe that's where the problem lies. The 20s doesn't have Cool. It has Level 5000 Angst. It has emotionalism and insecurity and posturing, which come directly from social unteractions from internet media rather than from genuine social interactions.
That's not to say we don't interact in person. Of course we do.
It's just to say that the internet, specifically, the onslaught of social media, severely changed Society and the individuals in it. That's just Facts.
This truth is projected through what I saw in this trailer. But ... a teaser is not The movie.
Still, this seems like it's Trying to be cool instead of simply Being cool from a natural source -- the infusion of actor and character.
Bill Skarsgard is a great actor. He could do it if external factors weren't pushing so hard. Buff up. Get tats. Act tough like you've been in prison. Wear a mowhak. Put on this white and black makeup.
Yet , he doesn't have IT to me (pun may have been intended). All external features that don't make a cool character.
He could've been given the hallway "death is here" makeup Evan Peters's character in AHS: Murder House had and it wouldn't make a difference.
Maybe I'm just salty because I thought Skarsgard was going to be the main villain. haha.
Like I said, though, I'm very willing to give this movie a chance Because I'm a fan of the original... and I really want Something to look forward to seeing 'cause, dayum. The past year had Nothin for me.
Just an opinion. There's no reason for hate over it, so I won't entertain it.
    Discussion? Yes.
    Debate? Maybe.
    Hate and trolling. Hard No
