It’s funny how sometimes when you feel like your workouts have been lacking throughout the week and then Nick comes out and assures you that you’re on the right track by sharing his experience. It’s also very nice that we get to learn something new from every video. I like the piece on stimulation not obliteration, that’s a new perspective this hybrid athlete needed to hear
I’ll do a pushup for every like on this comment!! I’ll post the video next week! Time to take advantage of all the motivation from Nicks Hyrox series ;)
Your dedication to fitness and mental toughness is so inspiring! Watching this video has motivated me to push harder and stay disciplined in my own goals. I appreciate the way you emphasize consistency and commitment because it's a great reminder that success is built through everyday efforts. Thank you for sharing your journey!
Hybrid training is definitely the way to go , I’ve never felt better and fitter than I have this past year pushing 50 . 1st Hyrox booked in Stockholm solo, Malaga doubles and fingers crossed , doubles in Glasgow when dates come out , all the best from 🏴
Same here. I also gave myself a Hyrox for my 50th birthday when I was moderately fit. I started in Cologne in April. 1:34:58 :-) At 51, the goal is the 90-minute mark. The varied training is really fun. Good luck and have fun
this is great congrats! how have you trained for Hyrox? i want to do my first hyrox too but i'm worried that i'm not fit enough at the moment @@guwekoeln
@@guwekoeln thank you my friend , I hope you break that 90mins . Totally agree with you regarding the training , it’s so varied , you’ll never get bored
I have learned progressive overload and to embrace discomfort from Nic and his team!!! Love this and can’t wait to see you and the BPN team in Austin for my 1/2 marathon! Go one more!!!
Thank you for this video! I found your channel after I did my first Hyrox last month in Amsterdam, and it has been very helpful so far in further understanding hybrid training. I'm looking forward to bettering my time next race.
Great video Nick, first HYROX will be Vegas in February. Doing a Doubles event with a buddy. We have started training pretty heavy already but definitely don’t want to peak too soon. Have to be patient but my running has improved significantly over the past two months. I come from a strength and endurance background as well. Starting out in Sports then the Marine Corps, being a Trainer, mararhoner, etc. Excited to see how you do in November. Rooting for you and if you ever would be open to me checking out your operation there in Austin please reach out. Would love to meet the team. I live about an hour away. 💪🏻 Keep inspiring!
This Hyrox consept is really interesting - but not resonating 100% though. I've been planning to modify it a "little" bit to more functional direction matching better with my goals and visions, and start training on my field later this year. Shorter more explosive sprints instead of 1k runs, and no machine's in the stations. Just bodyweight burpees etc and passive sled stuff, log carrying/lunges, archery and other ninja stuff 😈
About fasted training as well, never again. It's like night and day at least for me. Idk if it's getting older, 44 now, or what but in my twenties it didn't matter so much. Might be something to do with vegetarian diet as well idk 🤷🏽♂
Really big inspiration to me Nick has been an absolute machine watching for years now you inspired me to be a better leader a better athlete and better husband and father go one more 💪🏻🔥💯
Sounds like boxing training, a lot of easy runs that are designed to give you the fitness base to do the boxing training, then boxing training which is explosive work, stamina, weights for endurance, weights for strength.
I'll be at the same Hyrox Dallas event competing in the mens doubles. I'm going to stick around to see what Nick does and how he competes with guys like Ryan Kent and Rich Ryan. Hunter McIntyre was supposed to be there but now I'm hearing he isn't. Either way, I'm anxious to see how you do Nick.
@NickBare I am curious, I use your app for the Hyrox program, but is what you’re doing seems to be completely different from what that program entails. Will you be adding your current Hyrox circuit/program to your app?
He said he would be releasing his Hyrox prep in a different video and he said it would be released after his whole prep is complete. His hyrox training is different than the hybrid training in the app
And no gymnastic elements either (see handstand walking, muscle ups etc) Hyrox is a pure fitness circuit, CrossFit is a skill, strength and endurance sport (crossfitter personally but see the validity of both)
Strongly disagree. As a type 1 diabetic, i find it healthier to burn a similar amount of energy everyday consistently but doing different activities. For example, I no longer run everyday. Did 1.5hrs on a stationary bike this morning and tennis tonight - that is my recovery day now. Fun. Low stress. Low intensity. Low muscle damage.
Just listened to ur recent podcast , if ur looking for a new type of cut of meat to try, u gotta try a tomapork. I got it one time in Greece and it was the best piece of meat I ever had.
Shit I’ve been dropping my mileage for three weeks. My knee is fucked up, so should I just keep pushing through the pain and pull back up my mileage? You said to learn to run on compromise legs. ?
2-2.5 hours of training a day. So your left with over 20 hours in a day. If you’re dialled in and diets on point. Getting right amount of sleep. There’s plenty of time to recover. And also like it’s said in the video. Regulate your workouts.
Not nearly as much upper body focus in Hyrox. It's almost all lower body focused really. Wish there was at least one movement that challenged upper body strength more.
CrossFit, by definition, is constantly varied. HYROX is the same 9 movements repeated in exactly the same way. 2 of the 3 main components of CrossFit are gymnastics & weightlifting. HYROX has neither. HYROX has no barbells, no dumbbells, no pullups, muscle ups, or anything from a rig, no oly lifts. Most CrossFit workouts don't exceed 20 minutes. HYROX is 3-5 times longer. I just don't see how you can say CrossFit and HYROX are similar workouts/sports.
I agree with your comment because Nick once said he did not continue with CrossFit because he did not know the CrossFit movements and thus didn’t feel confident in them. For me if I was in that position I would keep hammering at CrossFit because anything you shy away from because you don’t understand how to do it is calling out to you to get past that mountain. Instead he regeared to Ironman and marathons and now hyrox because yeah, he already knows the movements. Remember anyone reading this: something new is not meant to feel comfortable- learn the skill then you can get better at the skill and advance. But confidence will come just from learning the thing, whatever it is.
bro look at Olympic wrestlers, their days are much harder than Nick's training. they sometimes have to train 3x per day depending on their program. it's doable but you have to regulate properly.

Good luck Nick with your hyrox training. You are an inspiration to hybrid training and your way of training changed my life. Keep going!
Hyrox is like an athlete workout session turned into a sport.
Go One More! I Love this series!
So freaking excited for Dallas! Cannot wait to see you and the team execute what you guys have trained so hard for! G1M
Thanks for your experience... i will be doing my first hyrox April 2025 @ Barcelona
Like this one Nick, it seemed a bit more relaxed than some of the recent ones which got quite intense at times! Good luck with your training 👍
Waiting all week for this 💪🏾

The biggest lessons for me has to be Lesson #3 and Lesson #5 so powerful and extremely underrated for progression and development!
Worlds toughest mudder is the ultimate “running with obstacles” event
Sounds like boxing training, a lot of easy runs that are designed to give you the fitness base to do the boxing training, then boxing training which is explosive work, stamina, weights for endurance, weights for strength.
Great advice. Best out there (plus Hunter)
2 days to go brother good luck

Nick very strong!
“ consistently good rather than occasionally great “ needs to get on a BPN shirt
Thanks for the summary on this nic
My first Hyrox will be Dallas, too! See you there! #G1M
Hyrox sounds very interesting , that's basically what wild human tribes used to do and still do today anyway .
50 secs ago is crazy
When u releasing the Hyrox Training plan Nick?! Thank you. Huge fan from Texas as well💪🏽 G1M
Let’s gooo!!!
When is the collab with Hunter Mack ?
Do you use TRT?
He's not on TRT he's full blown blasting my dude.. Wake up..
@@LotusstaWe found the weak loser with the trash ass genes. Shut up. You’ll cry that anyone with muscle on their body is “blasting”.

Why .
We were having a discussion about if we could run and build muscle. One of the friends shares this (this video was shared 3 hours ago) 😅
When you will include hyrox training in your app?
Drugs + Genetics + Mental Illness/ Mental Health = A badass athlete. 🤫
Lol just go workout bro. You don't have to be the loser that doesn't know anything on the internet. 😂

What journey do you use to track? It looks really nice quality
Like from Spain. Have a great day.
love it
what about normal obstacles races?? have you ever done some??
How much sleep do you get? 😅
So it’s CrossFit without the Oly lifting?
And no gymnastic elements either (see handstand walking, muscle ups etc)
Hyrox is a pure fitness circuit, CrossFit is a skill, strength and endurance sport (crossfitter personally but see the validity of both)
how long do u sleep?
This sport is in South Africa 🇿🇦
It's all over the world, my friend.
That is a lot of volume, how many weeks is your pre-prep workout before hyrox??
Where can I find this plan!
lol let’s go, MURPH.
Not gonna lie, I miss the old school vlog style videos
I wanna do one of these. The shit gets me hype
👏👏👏
So HYROX only consist in these 8 exercises? It’s only one workout?
7 days a week training!! Damn,, when does your body recover?
No days off??
With test you don’t need any
Dude when do you recover, like you dont have one rest day, aren't you afraid of injury from all that stress you put on your body??
💉 💉💉
Have you every thought about any combat sports
So no rest days ?
No rest day. Don’t care who u are or how fit u are, everyone needs a rest day every week
Strongly disagree. As a type 1 diabetic, i find it healthier to burn a similar amount of energy everyday consistently but doing different activities. For example, I no longer run everyday. I am so happy that you got married. I met you at the courthouse with you and your friend.
I don’t think strength and hyrox go together, I would say CrossFit is a better test of a hybrid athlete
That’s is the dumbest comment 😂.
What’s your stack
So no rest day?
Why do you need a rest day ?
Would love to see you do a Spartan race! Another great example of a compromised running race with obstacles.
Just listened to ur recent podcast , if ur looking for a new type of cut of meat to try, u gotta try a tomapork. I got it one time in Greece and it was the best piece of meat I ever had.
Nick Bare workout regime - Heavy Lifting, Heavy Running Volume, Heavy Tren Injection. 💪🏽
Shit I’ve been dropping my mileage for three weeks. My knee is fucked up, so should I just keep pushing through the pain and pull back up my mileage? You said to learn to run on compromise legs. ?
Compromise as in tired/exhausted/fatigued legs, NOT injured legs.
Pull back is my advice. Knee problems aren’t something to be worked through.
You need to take a break from running and heal
Is this real or not? Why should you wanneer do that?
I did sprints yesterday. I am sore
Do’t you run on tuesday?
So a CrossFit workout?
So your doing that type of volume with no rest days and stacking two day work outs? Like the work outs not agreeing with resting your body ever
2-2.5 hours of training a day. So your left with over 20 hours in a day. If you’re dialled in and diets on point. Getting right amount of sleep. There’s plenty of time to recover. And also like it’s said in the video. Regulate your workouts.

It’s CrossFit with running. Just you know the movements. Which makes it easier to train and prepare for the event
Not nearly as much upper body focus in Hyrox. It's almost all lower body focused really. Wish there was at least one movement that challenged upper body strength more.

I don't really see a difference between Hyrox and a Crossfit competition.
so Hyrox is basically a new crossfit?
Not at all, completely different
Yes. Only Hyrox same exercises each time and Cross Fit different exercises each competition.
