    It’s funny how sometimes when you feel like your workouts have been lacking throughout the week and then Nick comes out and assures you that you’re on the right track by sharing his experience. It’s also very nice that we get to learn something new from every video. I like the piece on stimulation not obliteration, that’s a new perspective this hybrid athlete needed to hear

    Great video Nick, first HYROX will be Vegas in February. Doing a Doubles event with a buddy. We have started training pretty heavy already but definitely don’t want to peak too soon. Have to be patient but my running has improved significantly over the past two months. I come from a strength and endurance background as well. Starting out in Sports then the Marine Corps, being a Trainer, mararhoner, etc. Excited to see how you do in November. Rooting for you and if you ever would be open to me checking out your operation there in Austin please reach out. Would love to meet the team. I live about an hour away. 💪🏻

    This Hyrox consept is really interesting - but not resonating 100% though. I've been planning to modify it a "little" bit to more functional direction matching better with my goals and visions, and start training on my field later this year. Shorter more explosive sprints instead of 1k runs, and no machine's in the stations. Just bodyweight burpees etc and passive sled stuff, log carrying/lunges, archery and other ninja stuff 😈

Did 1.5hrs on a stationary bike this morning and tennis tonight - that is my recovery day now. Fun. Low stress. Low intensity. Low muscle damage.

    • @davewarfel1
      @davewarfel1 Месяц назад +4

      CrossFit, by definition, is constantly varied. HYROX is the same 9 movements repeated in exactly the same way.
      2 of the 3 main components of CrossFit are gymnastics & weightlifting. HYROX has neither. HYROX has no barbells, no dumbbells, no pullups, muscle ups, or anything from a rig, no oly lifts.
      Most CrossFit workouts don't exceed 20 minutes. HYROX is 3-5 times longer.
      I just don't see how you can say CrossFit and HYROX are similar workouts/sports.

    • @heythere1115
      @heythere1115 Месяц назад +1

      I agree with your comment because Nick once said he did not continue with CrossFit because he did not know the CrossFit movements and thus didn’t feel confident in them. For me if I was in that position I would keep hammering at CrossFit because anything you shy away from because you don’t understand how to do it is calling out to you to get past that mountain. Instead he regeared to Ironman and marathons and now hyrox because yeah, he already knows the movements. Remember anyone reading this: something new is not meant to feel comfortable- learn the skill then you can get better at the skill and advance. But confidence will come just from learning the thing, whatever it is.
