17:28 Wait what? I've never heard anyone mention the bow of light being in this game before. Guess I'll have to keep this in mind when i eventually get around to 100%ing Minish Cap.
Minish Cap was the first video game i played and completed mostly by myself, it left such a huge impact on me. My first tattoo is silhouettes of the triforce, master sword, and... Ezlo 😅 Great video!
I played Minish Cap on the Switch and it blew my mind at how good it was. It might be a Top 5 entry and my personal favorite handheld Zelda game. I'm not sure how well it played on the Game Boy Advanced (I can see straining your eyes to see shrunken down Link being a problem) but my experience was nearly perfect.
I’m restarting this for the second time right now. I think of all the 2d games, it feels the nicest to play. The items really feel like you’re using the items, not just pressing a button in a video game. That said, I have a hard time ranking it higher than A Link to the Past or even Link’s Awakening because it’s so short.
I remember this game being like 25 hours long on my second playthrough. That is like 10 hours longer than ALttP which I just replayed recently and finished in less than 15 hours with 100% completion.
@ Something I think about a lot is that if you get stuck (in any Zelda game) your play time is going to be a lot longer. Also if you know a game well you’ll be able to beat it more quickly. ALttP has 12 dungeons and MC has 6, so as someone who doesn’t know either game well (2 completions of ALttP, 1 for MC) I can’t imagine how MC would take double the time. And don’t get me wrong, I want to rank MC as the best 2D game, it feels so good to play. I just feel like it lacks scale. I like revisiting areas through the kinstones, but each area of the map seems to mainly exist for the dungeons and main quests they house, not for mindless exploration. Not trying to criticize at all really just trying to explore my own feelings towards what the best 2d game is.
The Minish were initially planned to appear in Breath of the Wild but were ultimately cut. The developers found that incorporating a shrinking mechanic would be challenging in an open-world Zelda game.
@@itsgheb I wish they had brought back the Minish for "Tears of the Kingdom." However, that would require adding miniature towns in the Sky Islands and the underground, which might be too much. They would also need to create exclusive bosses or enemies that players could fight while in Minish form. Interestingly, there are technically miniature buildings in "Breath of the Wild," but they are mostly hidden. For instance, in a construction area where players can build a house, there is a mini house that seems to be designed for a Minish character.
Just finished this game for the first time about a month ago & i absolutely loved it! Honestly was already excited to play it but was taken by surprise at how good it actually is 🗡🛡❤️
The Minish Cap is actually the only LoZ game I've ever played start to finish, and the only one I've spent more than an hour in, and this video has made me realize just how distorted my view of the entire franchise is because of the limited experience I've had with the franchise lmao 😅 Like, my understanding of the entire franchise was formed solely by this game, so I find it kind of wild that Ezlo is a minor character that basically doesn't exist outside of this game, and the idea of the Minish being responsible for so much of the fun and hijinx basically vanished from the rest of the series is crazy to me. Cause I LOVED the miniature people in this game, and the cobbler story, and all of that extra miniature lore this game has. These ideas were SOOO fun and interesting to me when I played them, I seriously didn't know that they were basically a one-off that weren't fully fleshed out and canonized throughout the rest of the series (and tbh, IDK what really is canonized at this point). Like all the puzzles and gear were SUPER interesting and original from my perspective, makes me want to try some of the other games that people apparently love so much more than this one. Anyway, all else aside. I get that my experience with The Legend of Zelda is a bit warped from the fact The Minish Cap is the only game I've properly played, but I GENUINELY *LOVED* this game in ways I didn't think I could for most other Gameboy games outside of Pokémon. I had to consult a magazine, as a kid, just to beat the boss who had Eyes in his Hands as his vulnerable point. I loved this game so much, at the time I actually understood why so many people loved this franchise, even though it was the only taste of it I had ever received. And turns out, most people who love the franchise don't know much about this game at all! Which is kind of weird to think about, when you're entire exposure to Link is this one single game. But it's really cool seeing someone else try to put it into perspective for themselves, and makes me want more than ever to play more Legend of Zelda games so I can re-frame the franchise for myself! Fantastic video, I loved re-exploring this game from someone else's viewpoint who understands the franchise 100x better than I do lol
Despite how short the game is and how objectively easy it is compared to other titles it’s one of my favorites of the 2D Zelda games. It’s overall presentation and color pallettes as well as the shrinking mechanic make it stand out in way that a lot of the other games don’t. The Kinstone system is annoying but I normally mostly ignore it.
I love Minish Cap. Super underrated gem in the series. Well, all of the GameBoy Zelda's are great in my opinion. Minish Cap also looks really nice. I love Tingle, BTW.
I've tried multiple times to play Minish Cap... and every time I always get lost and stuck when I have to go to Lake Hylia. I've never been able to find the temple at Lake Hylia. Ever. I just find the layout of Lake Hylia so confusing, convoluted and unintuitive to explore. And I've played and beaten A LOT of Zelda in my life. Link's Awakening. Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask. Wind Waker. Oracle of Ages and Seasons. Twilight Princess. Phantom Hourglass. Spirit Tracks. A Link Between Worlds. Skyward Sword. Breath of the Wild. All played. All beaten. ... But I can't for the life of me figure out where I'm going in Lake Hylia in Minish Cap 😂
I love the Minish Cap, l know a lot of people are going to hate me saying this but l think it is so much better and fantastic compared to A Link to the Past, l always thought it not did Minish Cap have more character, much more colorful and the items were far more interesting than A Link to the Past !

MINISH CAP IS SUCH A GOOD GAME!
Im happy to see u talk abt it!
My fav 2d Zelda :]
I'm like the only person in the world who liked the kinstones lmao.
No, you are not alone friend. I am a completionist (thank you /fuck you, pokemon) and I really enjoyed the kinstone content.
I love them so much
I enjoyed them!
I loved them~
I loved them too! Thought it was so satisfying seeing them fit together!
Omg just realized youre doing these in release order. Subscribing for the Twilight Princess drop
I'm playing through it now for the first time in almost 18 years. It's just as awesome of a game as I remembered it!
@itsgheb ooh have so much fun!!! cant wait for the review!!
Glad to see Minish cap getting some love!
btw there's a few editing errors with multiple starts to sentences
Otherwise great video :)
Minish Cap is one of the most gorgeous entries in the series. I wish we had gotten one more original Zelda for the GBA
Minish Cap is a contender for the most charming Zelda to ever do it
I recently played this game because it was on NSO and it’s easily one of my favorite Zelda games!!! 👌🏽

I didn't know that! That would be so awesome, but the thought of traveling across BotW's map the size of a minish is insane to me

5:50. Good ol' Cory Smith.

Ezlo is the best Zelda companion who isn't a dummy thicc goblin. Sassy bird hat for life

Love this game. I never got 100 percent on it because I could never find that last person I needed to kinfuse with.
I did it. It didn't feel great
Great video ❤

i'm playing link to the past in my 3ds, and minish cap is my next, playing old games, just finished DK 2 before new year.
Minish cap is great, but I have to say Phantom hourglass is the most underrated
I still have a physical copy that I've had since high school. (A long time ago lmao)

Doesn't like Tingle? Fake Fan.
You’re so fine 🥹
Nah. It's a disappointment. I can't really put my finger on whatit's missing but it's a big disappointment compared to the Oracles.
