Happy Veteran's Day Tony! Thanks for your service! Yep, Love my Tekton tools. Had to warranty an item one time. If there aren't any Tekton stores close they'll let you just send a picture and they'll ship you a new one asap.
Tekton is the only American company that offers complete socket/ratchet sets without useless SAE sockets. Everybody else shoves SAE in your face whether you need them or not. Nothing but respect for Tekton.
I just recently got the 1/4" drive deep SAE set in 6 point. The 1/4 turn rails are nice, but I put them on my organizer anyway and repurposed the rail for other sockets I have. They've already seen plenty of use and will for the forseeable future. Best part is they fit my old Craftsman locking extensions better than the Craftsman sockets they are replacing.
I went ahead and ordered the 12 point 3/8 deep set. Need a complete set for head bolts, etc... Had to buy from Amazon since Tekton was out. It was the only quality looking set I could find at $32 or under with no skips. So your vid just made them a sale 👍
the tekton socket rails are special ordered ones from ernst manufacturing ( so they say tekton) so if you want other colors look them up. i do rather like tekton as a company because they really do offer the best warrenty out there, very good people to work with
Another good review. Seems like Tekton is really stepping up there game . I bought new deep impacts from them . The no skips in sizes is great . I see more Tekton in my future.
Tekton should be paying you (Not that I'm saying you're a shill). just because I think you're the first person I saw that showed Tekton tools and I've since bought a bunch of their stuff. They make some decent tools for the price. I've been beating on their 3/8 impact sockets for a few years now with zero complaints and have a set of Tekton wrenches in my truck for road repairs. I'll have to check out their website. Have a great week.
Thank you. Haha ya when I saw tekton improving upon the old designs a few years ago and the prices I figured that's a tool company I can support. They make some really good tools at a really good price. I'm glad you have enjoyed the tools you have bought as well. The website is great. They share alot of info on everything the make. 👍
Really hoping they offer the flex head 90tooth with a comfort grip as in the winter here in Michigan not having one is hard and cold on the hands. Love the roto head ones I have right now.
those socket rails like my Ernst Socket Boss rails. I love those rails, they have made a huge difference in socket organization in my tool box. I wonder if Ernst is making them for Tekton… I am lookin got pick up there new swivel socket set to replace my old worn out craftsman swivel sockets.
Ya I have they are nice and once again with williams it all depends on the tool. Some are not the best and over priced and some are actually really nice for the price. Happy holidays
Hey Tony I wanted to reach out and ask you if the 12 point Tekton sockets are good? I’m guessing they are awesome as I’ve seen no bad things said about tekton. I ran I to 12 point fasteners today and it caught me off guard and I had to borrow a socket from my buddy. I bought the 3/8 set and it was only 69 bucks compared to 279 bucks from Matco. That 279 is with the student discount lol
Ya lol some of those matco ones are ridiculously priced. The tektons will do you right!! Like I'm sure you already know, you won't run into much 12 pt but it's nice to have a set on hand for when you do. And they will hold up very well. Sorry for the late reply.
@@TonyTheTechnician yeah I figured there’s no need to drop the coin on snap on for some sockets I will rarely use. Plus I hear tekton is a damn good option
Yes indeed and they seem nice I did a cleaning / lubricating video with the new ratchets. Internals seem nice and clean. Just don't use a grease or anything for lubrication. Just a drop or 2 of 3n1 oil for lubrication is best.
I just ordered the 55-pc 6 point socket set in 1/4" dr. $55.00 both sae/mm. Standard and deep well. $55.00. Should be delivered June 3rd. I can't wait to check them out.
Tony hey bro I love the new rails and you just showed us here from tekton my question is do they have the numbers that would go on the rails like the one withholding the Snap-on from Ernst
Great review Tony thank you!! Their warranty process is sooooo EASY.....IF one is a DIY type try to get a broken/worn Snap-on tool warranted!!! LOL LOL I wrote Snap-on they told me to write THEM that the local tool trucks could NOT help me. I said screw it NEVER buying Snap-on again LOUSY service for the DIY type folks like me.
Great film, Triple-T. I have the older Tekton 55 piece, 1/4" drive ratchet/socket set, it has the 72-tooth ratchet. Now, I can look forward to the ratchet failing so it be replaced with the 90-tooth one, I hope! After two years though nothing in that set has failed me yet. Triple-T, do you use your Tekton stuff in the everyday environment in a shop, or just at the house part time? I only use mine periodically with my side work. I'm pert near close to abandoning not ordering tools through the mail and get some more Tekton tools anyway. The two Tekton sets I have were birthday gifts to me.
Thank you very nice that's great to hear. All of my tools are supplied to me at work so I don't have to use my own but sometimes I will bring mine in and use them to see how they hold up so I can give a better review of my thoughts. It's just hard sometimes bc at work I use alot of sae and at home and side jobs it's mostly metric lol
Does the stamping orientation all line up to the side of the rail, so that you can identify the size of the socket without removing any of them from the real to see the stamping?
For the most part I believe so. I'll have to double check in the morning. But you can also buy stickers that go on each clip so you can identify each socket without looking at the socket
I hope so. I'll have to ask them about it. I haven't really heard anyone complain about the torque wrenches but the design is the simple old style where I know many people are looking for that more slim professional looking design.
Hey Tony, been going thru your videos to get some advice. Would you recommend Gearwrench or Tekton? I'm starting from zero as far as tools (been borrowing). Personally I have two classic Chevy's so all SAE but I help my friends with they're modern cars which I'd need metric for. I'm trying to decide between Gearwrench 80944 And Tekton SKT05301, SKT15311, 90191 Any advice either way or better ideas? Thanks! This is a tool for a DIY hot rod restoration on the weekends in my garage on my own cars as a lifetime hobby.
Thank you and I think the gearwrench set is great for the price. As well as sets 80942 and 80972. They all have a great variety of tools and all come in a nice little mobile toolbox which is nice. And the tekton stuff is great for the price. Great sets and great prices as well. Both brands and sets are really good quality for the price and I believe either way you go you will be very pleased with the tools. You can't really go wrong going either route. So it's really up to whichever one you like more. You picked some very good sets. Please let me know which way you decide to go.
@@TonyTheTechnician went Tekton, that warranty was too hard to resist plus nicer website and access to tool information gave me more confidence in the company as a whole.
@@KJ_Moore completely agree with you no argument with that. Absolutely amazing warranty and I love the site as well. It's very easy and gives alot of good information.
I tried warranting some of the old screwdrivers with the acetate handles and I couldn't get the whole screwdriver in the pictures to include the damage of the screwdriver at the bottom, the screwdrivers don't even say tekton on them anymore so idk what it mattered. I showed a nasty tip on the acetate handles... shoulda been just fine. I sent them new ones but never got a response, its been a year =p
