I played trove A LOT in high school, for like 3 years, got to be one of the top players of the game and almost never touched it again after, but it's really good ! Never expected you to talk about it ! And really didn't expect you to talk about Yu-Gi-Oh master duel ! Been playing it non stop since launch ! It's been a blast ! Been playing Yu-Gi-Oh irl for the past like 3 years very casually with my brother and I now love playing MD, it's the best Yu-Gi-Oh online experience, with the music, the effects and the ease of use ! Love that you advertised it !
Love seeing Super Animal Royale get more attention. It's an amazing game, easy to pick up, hard to master. It's looking like a smaller version of the Among Us situation - it already had a small dedocated playerbase for a little while before it started to get popular, so the older players who are staying kinda sweep everyone since there's no ranking, but that's just kind of how unranked BR works as a genre. As more players come in it will slowly even out.
Trove is surprisingly fun, and a good amount of the free content is actually user generated! You can submit weapons and costumes and even dungeons to the dev team for a chance for your content to be added :)
Trove used to be much better in it's monetization in the past, you could easily earn classes before and I had like almost all the classes. Then they made the classes craftable with insane amounts of expensive ingredients

I remember getting Rocket League as a holiday gift. Then a couple years later when my brother got a switch lite for a holiday gift, he got it for free. What I could've got with that money...
Gonna have to try out Eternal. However even though it's not free...I haven't put slay the spire down until I complete it I love it so much . Dont feel bad about putting card games on your list each time they are great fun!
The nice thing about Super Kirby Clash is that if you do wish to pay, you're only ever going to need $40 and you never need to pay again. You'll have more gem apples than you need. So basically they made a $40 game but it's not mandatory to pay for it. Granted paying $40 upfront does kill the fun a little bit, since all the gem rewards stop exciting you anymore. I just wish there was a more balanced middle ground.
Just so ppl know, rocket league is v popular and always has people playing. I find games with people almost instantly. It's also cross play, I've played with friends on ps4, pc and myself on switch all simultaneously with no issues. Pretty cool!
Trove actually got my attention, thanks for recommending it. I tried out Minecraft but I was put off by its graphics, but this seems much more pleasing to the eye, beautiful colors. I hope I will like it

2:11 their is a pretty sharp learning curve in super animal royale but once you get the game down which shouldn't take that long the game becomes super fun
I played Super Animal Royale steam version before, and I certainly can confirm how brutally good the players are on the game, never thought it's as hard on the other platforms too! Very good list though!
Not sure if you have done it for good eShop games worth buying but i really recommend Blazing Beaks. Its a twin-stick shooter and quite hard, it has a good feel of progression by weapons and abilities, but also by the player improving. Not to mention its nice art style :). As a veteran in Yugioh, I play the game in my switch and I can assure you. It is not actually free to play if you screw up, but it is some what free to play if you know the competitive format and what to craft and what to get and once you do it right. You will have a decent amount of decks and pretty powerful decks to play online rank mode up to platinum or diamond starting today. But the game does not perform well enough on the switch and it kind of really need to reboot at times. However, if you really into learning and just want to play the game on casual and not spend any money on the actual card game it self. It has a really fairly good content of cards for you to do so.
Me and my friend downloaded super animal royale when it first came out. It was ok, but completely unoptimised for the switch. Idk if thats changed since then, but basically it was a straight port from pc and the hud was way to small and made you strain your eyes alot.
If you got the money, You might enjoy yugioh legacy of the duellist link evolution. You can play the single player campaigns from the earlier series. Once you beat a character to can play the duel in reverse. For example, you play as yugi to beat kiba. Then once you win you can play as Kiba to beat yugi. You also have the option of playing that character's deck or your own.
I beat Super Kirby Clash last week, and I would actually recommend spending a little money on it if someone finds they're enjoying the game. The cheapest 50 cent bundle doubles how much free currency (Gem Apples) you get every day. Got 50 gold points sitting on your account? You can do a lot worse things with it.
Re-review them, make that best of free. I'm sure it'll be entertaining to go back through some of those older freemium games and see how they hold up. 😛
With Rocket league a big part of it being free is the fact that you now start with nothing instead of starting with like 16 or more cars and heaps of cosmetics and the fact that all if not most dlc is now gone and almost never comes back.
super animal royale has been out for years before the switch release. its also cross platform meaning your also playing with pc players and its easy to tell which ones are which cause of the movement when they jump and aim. still a great game tho and theres a huge community. they even have a discord and sometimes they have events separate to the in-game ones

I've been playing Super Animal Royale for almost 2 years now AND I LOVE IT. I prefer it on PC though. It came to Switch a few months ago. The US servers are FILLED with sweaty people. I prefer to play EU because I feel like I find more chill, average players over there which better fits my skill level lol. But I definitely suggest checking it out! 👍 (Also I don't know if switch players and PC players mix naturally in lobbies or only when players make a party together. If they do mix naturally, that could be why it's more difficult and you die so quickly. The controls are so much smoother on PC... in my opinion.) I also love Trove, but they've updated the game beyond my preference. It's gotten so big and in depth, I get overwhelmed... But it was fun when I played it years ago. 😌
If you're interested in Yu-Gi-Oh and know nothing about it, I reccomend Legacy of the Duelist before Master Duel, at least for single-player content. You play through the major duels of the first 6 anime series, so you can follow the card game as it progressed and new mechanics were added. It's better for learning the basics of how everything works before you jump into the insanity that is the Meta
i highly recommend Kirby Clash and Pokémon Unite for younger kids. my son is 3.5 and gets car sick easily so he plays a switch lite in the car and we just put it on our hotspot on our phones for him to play online. the games are easy enough for him to play them without much help and he really enjoys them. we as adults enjoy being able to play those two games alongside him also.

curious fact of super animal royale, there are many, many things that you can get by playing, certain things if you want to support the devs you buy things with the tickets but you can easily do A loadout without putting money
If I were to personally recommend a free game on Switch to others, it would be Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2. Yes, it's technically a demo for a game that will be fully finished throughout the future, but even with the first 2 chapters you get for free, the game is really good. It is recommended that you have some knowledge of the game Undertale before you play it, but I don't think you fully need to. At most, you'll miss our on a few small details about returning characters and minor elements from Undertale, but those elements aren't really super prevalent in Deltarune (at least not yet, I don't know if that'll change in the later chapters). The gameplay is fun, the characters are memorable and likeable, the humor is really funny in my opinion (especially in chapter 2's case), and it's an overall enjoyable time. Plus, you're getting a fair amount of content out of it, at least 8 to 10 hours worth of game time. The game is also on PC and PS4 for those who don't have a Switch.
Another one I recommended that is fairly recent is roller champions. It’s by Ubisoft and is REALLY fun. I recommend downloading it to see for yourself how fun it is.
Bro I played trove so much a few years ago. Super freaking grindy but I found a group of people that invited me to their clan and it was pretty fun playing with them.

You should do a review on Asphalt 9: Legends. In my opinion, it is an AMAZING free game on the switch.

If I were to personally recommend a free game on Switch to others, it would be Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2. Yes, it's technically a demo for a game that will be fully finished throughout the future, but even with the first 2 chapters you get for free, the game is really good. It is recommended that you have some knowledge of the game Undertale before you play it, but I don't think you fully need to. At most, you'll miss our on a few small details about returning characters and minor elements from Undertale, but those elements aren't really super prevalent in Deltarune (at least not yet, I don't know if that'll change in the later chapters). The gameplay is fun, the characters are memorable and likeable, the humor is really funny in my opinion (especially in chapter 2's case), and it's an overall enjoyable time. Plus, you're getting a fair amount of content out of it, at least 8 to 10 hours worth of game time. The game is also on PC and PS4 for those who don't have a Switch.

Another one I recommended that is fairly recent is roller champions. It’s by Ubisoft and is REALLY fun. I recommend downloading it to see for yourself how fun it is.
Bro I played trove so much a few years ago. Super freaking grindy but I found a group of people that invited me to their clan and it was pretty fun playing with them.
