Thanks for sharing. These are good units. The 8300s are pretty nice as well. Some of the USFF models use MXM 3.0 video cards, and I’ve had a little fun trying out cards that weren’t listed as compatible. The best card appears to be the HD 7650A but the NVS 5100M and a couple others aren’t too bad either.
Have an 8000 and I can't do anything with it because it asks me to set time and date or press F1 to load defaults, but it won't work with a usb keyboard because for some reason it doesn't enable the usb keyboard on boot. Need a PS/2 keyboard apparently.
Great video man, I got me one of this and fully upgraded it.... sorry and correct me if I'm wrong but I noticed there's 2 ram sticks on that pc and look like they are installed next to each other (cant see the image really good) but isn't it running on single channel if you have them next to each other on the ram slot 1 and slot 2 instead of 1 and 3?
Thanks, I was in doubt if the motherboard was only compatible with the power supply. Is there any way to connect an out of the box power supply to it with some kind of adapter?
I got this computer w8th a hp L1906 monitor, I can't get the monitor to stay on. Cuts on for a second very dim pops up 2 things I can't see. Then goes black until I hit power button off then back on then does same thing.
When you boot up can you get into the BIOS/Setup menu and just stay in there for a few minutes to see if the problem still happens? That can help you eliminate if it is a hardware issue, instead in may be a Windows or driver issue.
Why are you running the RAM in single channel when you have 2 DIMM's? You can get twice the memory bandwidth speed if you run the memory in Dual Channel.

8300 gets you onboard USB3 if I remember correctly, which is always a big help with peripheral support.
Nice one Chris! You could drop in something like a GT-1030, they only consume about 35w. They are surprisingly good, especially on older games.
Definitely!

with it being so proprietary I'm not sure that there would be an adapter to go from 24 pin down to the 6 pin used in this board; very restrictive.

Good catch! I'm going to have a talk with my QA person (which is me)
