Haha.... i remember seeing Peter Hook in the early 80's just before a concert and seeing him in track suit bottoms and a vest and thinking to myself that it is about you got ready Hooky. Little did i know he was ready.
For crying out loud Hooky. Smashing Pumpkins are great but we need you back in New Order. This is bloody ridiculous and so frustrating. Have a fight or something but get it sorted out!
Jack D'Ripa i’ts not like if he would play in stadiums...he tour in the same small venues like every old school punk band do...So i don’t think Peter hook is as Rich as The Rolling Stones...I saw him last week and i was telling myself how Peter Hook isn’t a sellout or that he’s really dedicated to bring his side of N.O./J.D. to the entire world. « It’s all in the eye of the beholder »
Omygoodness, Peter Hopk is not New Order......he's a shitty singer, great bass player, but shot himself in the foot being bitter about Bernard Sumner taking over after, apparently, your muse, Ian took himself our. Ug...stop stepping on good New Order songs, trying to sing. Go set your head on auto-repeat to Disorder, by the ever late Joy Division.
Of course Peter Hook, New Order truly made you shine. So please, you are no lead man, Joy Division, wasn't even your forte, you were simply hooked to Ian, and never got to appreciate the brilliance of Bernard Sumner, as you were bitter and unhappy with Ian's choice, took it out on Bernard and New Order, which actually allowed your "genius," to thrive. So sad for you Peter. Wish you were going to be bcc a part of the only US stop, at Fillmore Miami Beach, Jackie Gleason Theater.......
To be fair, it works both ways. Peter Hook made the groups shine too with his powerful melodic bass lines & contributions to songwriting , and his iconic stage presence. Re bitterness or anger about Ian’s choice to end his life, it’s not just Peter who had such feelings, Bernard too has said that , along with their shock, grief and depression, they had some anger about it. And I don’t think it’s true that Peter never appreciated Bernard’s brilliance. Because although he says a lot of angry bitter stuff about him now, he also says Bernard’s a brilliant guitarist , the best guitarist in Manchester, acknowledges how much work he put in , calls him a genius, etc.... he just also says there’s a fine line between being a genius and being a dickhead, lol . I really doubt the fault is all on one side or the other. I’m a huge fan of Bernard but that doesn’t make me minimize Hooky’s contribution to the bands. I agree it’s very sad that we’ll probably never get to see them play together again.
They along with Echo and the Bunny-men were the two biggest music influences on me ever. Peter Hook or not. Now take away Bernard and well there is no more New Order. I'm sorry but a bass player can be replaced somewhat easily. get over it
@@everettsanchez8946 is that why they sound better live now? Maybe Peter should've resolved his grief rom within, as opposed to antagonizing the Band. Fact is, Peter Hook is noting alone, Nand New Order was amazing last week in Miami!
Mike Preiss I kinda agree with what u said except for the bassist part. Although usually true for most bands, Peter hook was a very different kind of bassist. He played in a melodic way that was usually very central and important to the songs. Without him and his bass styles. Joy division and new order would be very different, and likely less influential bands.
I bought a bass guitar solely because of Peter Hook
same here
Yep same
Same
I love James introducing Peter Hook so god damn much.
I guess he was mowing his lawn at home when suddenly someone strapped a bass on him.
LOL

Pumpkins and hooky in the one stage
genius overload

new order's classic remind us that Great Song Melodies are essential for any music, alternative, rock, pop, electronic whatever
incredible perfomance so neat
Excellent performance,thanks for the video.
Good but keyboards seriously missing
Wow his son is in sp
Killed it
It must be cool to have his son Jack Bates (pumpkins touring bassist) playing with him on stage
I was at this concert, Courtney Love was so plastered she couldn’t even stand up.
The great PETER HOOK.
es la hostia uno de los grupos que más me mola NEW ORDER versioneado por THE SMASHING PUMPKINS
La ostia en barca, y hooky canta 300 veces mejor que Barney
Peter Hook is New Order !
He is certainly the backbone of the band.
New Order's Music Complete album is their best release in a long while, even without Hooky.

@Jack D'Ripa that's why he sued New Order after leaving, he's just a little vain for his shoes.
Wonderful
Very raw
I recently saw a picture of New Order and it was NOT New Order!
Wow. I wish I could have been there...
Hooky!!!
Wow! Super jealous
Bass god
💗💗💗👌
Hooky's voice is far better suited to this song than Bernard's.
great
Hero.
Ouch...i feel like i just stubbed my big toe.
JAMES...dude...its an EEG
Is that his son Tom playing behind him? dx

Naomi Reese bro stfu Peter Hook gave new order and JD there unique sound it’s clearly evident here this song is nothing without the bass line
