Absolutely amazing,Robert.I live in northeastern US at the southern limit of the Lake trout’s range.I’ve caught some beauties but not as large as those.I’ll keep trying however,a wonderful gamefish. You,sir, are a philosopher/angler,a puzzlement to those who don’t fish for sure and are unaware of the joy and dedication angling requires.Wonderful, wonderful video!
In Door County Wisconsin, USA, lakers are big. The fish boils at outdoor restaurants boil them with potatoes onions and carrots. If you come to America you have to try it. Thanks for sharing a great fishing trip with me!
Nice laker , many times when I’m out with my single handed rods I will bring a spare reel setup with a Skagit line and bring some poly sink tips and single had swing . Works good to dredge up some big trout :-) thanks for the video
I would correct you and say I have my emotions on my skin if that saying makes sense ☺️ there is one video coming where I was fishing with my buddy Mads, I was so upset about the bad weather that I wanted to stop filming. I'm glad I didn't and it turned out quite funny I think.
I do love this one. You took us on your problem solving journey on this river. I always learn a lot from your teaching, but this was SO engaging. And I was as excited as you were with the big lakers!
Tack Anders.
Thank you for the kind and honest question. The experience for the fish in catch and release is something I'm often thinking about myself. Fishing with a rod and line is a very ineffective method compared to larger-scale industrial fishing. It does very little harm to the fishes environment and to the population so I see it as very normal and cleaver to take such fish for food. But there is fishing regulations, so some fish needs to be released. Fishing is the biggest hobby in the world so with many people fishing a spot it can really harm a population despite the inefficiency 😊 I'm not gonna go into why here in this very long answer but the trend is that people more and more wants to release more than the regulations requires. The thought is good in my opinion but what I am concerned with is when it goes so far as never taking up a fish to eat. That is wrong and I'm especially worried how the outside people that is not fishing sees it. My friend and I took up a lovely snapper today and a jack two days ago (Caribbean) I take up fish in Swedish waters too. My favorite food fish is pike. I can only admit to not showing enough kept fish on my RUclips channel and I will start doing it more frequently. I also want to mention that I have been producing a video on catch and release fishing and its effects on the fish. It is not on my channel, so I link it here: ruclips.net/video/MWwjl_Q9pmU/видео.html
Haha that legendary rock! I czech-nymphed my first 50cm+ grayling from the same one. Higher water and more current though... Nice video Robert, really miss fishing together! ...Strange however, that the grayling were not really in the mood that day... or did you do you and fish for trout 99% of the time? ;-)
The bigger those lake trout get, the harder they fight. Come up to Northern Canada to experience the largest on the planet. I can promise they won't feel boring at all

Amazing place and fish 👍
It’s a classic that the fish strike when you reel in the line.

Grym film! 💥

That's such an awesome video Robert, you cracked the code for the big Lakers 🔥😍
Thanks Mads.
I think you need a larger net Robert! Awesome fishing and incredible scenery 👌
Thanks. I hate small nets. That one was only temporary 😊
That looks fun. Enjoy your content Robert. Keep up the good work 👏
Thank you. I had the best time
Awesome fish Robert 👍 lake trout are still on my bucket list ;)
Thanks Eamon. I think timing is crucial for them not to be in the deep parts of the lake. Next time 😉
@@FlyFishingbyRobert I will be back :D
Very cool video...
12 hours for fishing is no problem 😉 best relaxing time for me
Thanks Frank
Reward for persevering!
Thanks Derek
thats a crackin lake trout mate, well done n gud release.
Thank you Stephen
So nice! A Inspiration für the coming Laketrout season Here in Bavaria💪
Thanks. When can you fish for them? Didn't know they were lake trout there.
What an amazing fish. Congrats!
Thanks
An American lake trout (namaycush) in Europe in a stream.... Very special!
It's even more amazing if you think of how slow Lake Trout grow, that 80 cm fish might be close to your own age :)
True. Hope they can grow much bigger too.

Great video, thanks
Thanks 👍
Fin video - super. Jeg har aldrig før set denne fisk fanget på flue i Sverige - fantastisk. På dansk hedder fisken “Canada rødding”👍😊🌟
Tack. Samma på svenska
Fuck thats big ! awesome Robert ! Happy for you.
Haha thanks
Great fish
Thanks
Sjukt bra ställe, fick en öring på 64 cm samt harr på 53 där 2018
Amazing!🤩
Thanks!
what a tank laker! Im so jealous
One of my most memorable fishing days. I was so happy.
Wow! 21:50 good fish.
Thanks
Hey, what mic are you using along with your gopro? The sound is really nice! :D
Massive!! 🎣👌
👊😎
Fantastic stuff mate! thought the first trout's markings looked like a pike to start with! do you fish for those much? all the best
Thanks Ryan. I do. There is a few pike videos on my channel
Interesting there are lake trout there, they must be introduced. I wonder why it is not an arctic char fishery due to it is in europe
There are arctic char in that water too. The lake trout is introduced many years ago

Okay nice! Miss you too. The grayling fishing did not live up to what I hoped for.

I believe you Matt. I think they are an awesome fish
@@FlyFishingbyRobert biggest so far is 110cm with a girth of 63cm. Can't wait to find some even bigger ones
Cool
Nice!
Thanks
awesome!
Thank you!
i want to come fishing with you !!! 😁
I guide so, do it.
@Fly Fishing by Robert where are you exactly ? is there local accommodation? id be coming from uk. when is salmon season ?
Nice ones it is 2 Canadian chars and not 2 lake trouts nevertheless nice fishes
In North American where they are from they are called lake trout. Canadian char is a less known name.
@@FlyFishingbyRobert ok my bad trout is not what I assumed it is Oncorhynchus, Salmo and Salvelinus I thought that trout was Salmo trutta
Ack! Sorry your reel broke!
It was fine. It was just a clumsy thing to smash it against a stone.
Is it a stretch private river ??
It is a separate license with limited rods per day
@@FlyFishingbyRobert Ok thanks for your answer ;)
Great fish
