I realise there are some ignorant people saying Baltic pricing is ridiculous despite having miyota 9039. I had the same preconception until i actually bought one. I was so wrong and mindblown by this Aquascape. Hello? Miyota is under Citizen and 9039 is their high premium grade movement. So it is either same quality or even better than your expensive ETA movements, while costing peanuts to service and replace. They use this movement because it is very thin and suits their case design.Mind you, their thickness is only 12mm. 28800 bph and 42 hours reserve? Case design is good and with brushed finish. Signed crown is very great and actually aligned properly upon locking. Caseback is actually aligned perfectly! QC is very good, they actually check everything and regulate the movement. Not to mention such unique neo-vintage dial design! The only weak point of this watch is weak lume. That's all. You might look at certain pictures and yell it should be $250-300, those $250-$300 watches does not even come close to one third of what this watch is offering. This Baltic Aquascaphe is even better than Oris/Longines/ and even RADO captain cook. You guys will miss a lot of great watches if all you care is about movement-based pricing.
Finally some love to Steinhart, very good and informative video. Lots of options, titanium is a unappreciated option that I love in a watch! Keep the good work my friend!
I have a yema superman heritage GMT and its brilliant. Lovely design and great build quality. I found it also wears very well on medium to large wrists as well. A very under appreciated watch in my opinion and would highly recommend!
I have the Yema Superman Heritage Blue (the limited edition version), and I can tell you, it’s been taking WAY more wrist time than my Rolex Submariner 14060M. I’m really in love with it. Oh, and this Yema Superman was released in 1963, not the 70s, and it was the first watch in the world to be waterproof to 300m.
There is this guy, Teddy and there is that imbecile Ben... subscribed here, unsubscribed there 😀 budget or no budget, you can't catalogue brands like Citizen as trash and place Spaghetti Scametti Filippo Crappety "brands" as good 🤣 pay attention guys of the history and what a brand represents, even if mass produced, some watches are legendary 👏😉
Hi Teddy, you should list the watches being reviewed on the video description for a quick reference, just like Watchfinder does, it really helps so we don't have to go back in the video for the model of the watch (my memory is hopeless). Also, what's the difference on a chinese $1 NATO and a $10 one? I have some chinese NATOs and they're really good, but would like to know what to expect from one of your's before buying. I know that $10 may not seem like much, but my country's currency is pretty weak against the mighty dollar, so $10 are quite a bit of pesos 😕. Great video BTW!
There cannot be much of a difference between a $1 and a $10. The more expensive one is what you'd buy from you local shop. The cheaper one is cheap because you buy it online and China mail to USA is literally free for most of them trade companies. Perhaps things change when you talk about $30 straps (improved QC, better mats), but let's not forget most thing are built in Shenzhen =D
There is absolutely no difference. He's buying the Chinese straps for a dollar and selling them to you for $12. I wouldn't buy a strap from this nerd unless his girlfriend hand delivered it to me on horseback.
@@nate9221 Buying straps from his site supports the free content on this channel. It MAY depend on the source but the strap I bought from China did not age well compared to the one I bought from a well known nato strap site, but ymmv.
Cheap Chinese natos are shorter, usually thinner, defintely fray and fuzz more easily, and can often (but not always) have cheaper buckles and hardwear
All NATO watch straps are made in China. Including those that claims to be made with material from the French Navy.....They can be purchased at 1 or 2$ (Including S&H....) but not duty taxes.
So happy you mentioned marathon! I have the 42mm GSAR and it wears really well on my 6 1/4" wrist. I was afraid I might have to return it because it does look so imposing in videos, and photos. But it really works perfectly on my wrist!
Great choices at all price levels - It seems that the retro/vintage diver watch trend helps all watch lovers with wrists smaller than 8 inches. Very clean designs from Lorier, Baltic and Yema - all great options. In the same vein, an Oris 65 39" diver can also be had for just under 1K (discounted at various ADs). Thanks for the video and keep up the great work and content. Cheers
Thank you Teddy for mention the thickness of all watches. I think the thickness of a watch is VERY important. I always have google the thickness and weight of all watches.
He mentioned the thickness of CASES, which is not enough when u have a 2mm plexiglass on top. He's missed the bulkiness of at least 2 pieces in this video.
I'd personally save up a little more and get a tag aquaracer 41mm. As much crap as tag gets, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried one on. Is on my list for that weekend, camping, beat on watch. Solid watch that can be had at a good price
I have a Steinhart Ocean One 39 mm Submersible and love it. I'll never find, much less afford, a Rolex Seadweller Double Red, so it's great to get that look in an obtainable watch.
Great job Teddy. Another under 38mm watch worth mention is the Meraud Bonaire. It has a similar aesthetic to the Baltic. FYI - a couple of the Helson SharkDiver 38mm variants come with ETA movements.
Im a Helson fan and purchased a Helson 38 SS. This is for a small wrist. It didn't look correct on my 7.25" wrist...so I got the Helson 40 and it fits and looks perfectly.

Hey Teddy. Can you do a video in what you are personally looking in a watch, what makes you wanna buy a certain piece among many choices and your watch style in general?
Great VLOG as always Teddy. I am a huge fan of the Baltic MB range in France, they are doing some great vintage inspired pieces. Will be looking into the Yema brand now. Would love to see content for the larger wrist Teddy as I have a 7.5" wrist..also divers which offer the expansion clasp & easy adjustment for warmer days when our wrist expands.
@@TeddyBaldassarre the straps are amazing. I also bought the SNXF05 from your Seiko 5 video. The stripped grey NATO and the cognac strap look soooo good on it.

Sorry I had to presume he meant for a Swiss movement and hence my initial comment of rebutting him.
ocb05 I agree, the Baltic looks very nice and to many that is worth a big premium. I also think it looks better than the RLG. Just saying specs/price is not that great on the Baltic. Idk about their USA supply, but here in Europe if you want the Aquascaphe with strap & bracelet inc tax, it’s $900. The black RLG has extremely similar specs and also comes with strap & bracelet for $379 inc shipping to UK. That’s a stark difference. Granted the RLG’s price is pretty exceptional for a micro brand and the Baltic is on the pricier spectrum of micros. I think their QC is good, but to suggest it is significantly better than most micros is very hard to prove. I don’t think a Baltic is a bad purchase at all btw, but they’re certainly not optimum value
I do not know about RLG QC as i did not buy any of their stuff, But let me put it this way, if i get the Odyssey, i would think of other divers again. But this Aquascaphe, it made me want to sell off other divers and make it the only divers watch i need. Yeah it is not good value per dollar wise, but it really speaks to me in a way which no other watches has done before. Not sure where are you from, but me importing from France to Malaysia, cost me $750 in total including 5% duties and DHL 3 days express delivery. So sucks to be in Europe despite this watch is actually assembled and produced in France. Well if those details and finishing and the quality control i stated above does not satisfy you at all, i do not know what will. Pretty sure any sub $400 microbrands would not give you such perfect finishing and quality control. Been there bought some of the microbrand divers, none of them come close to this Baltic divers. Maybe RLG is that good, have you bought one yet? Maybe we can privately message to exchange detailed photos of them. I am not telling you to buy it to feel it, it is just that good on my wrist and it is impeccable except for the lume. I can say it is even better than some of the well known brands out there, like seiko and even Rado, and eats Oris 65 for breakfast (all i handled before).
I prefer a big diver. Seagull Ocean Star looks wonderful on my skinny wrists. 44mm but the lugs curve down. That's the key to the fit on my thin wrists. I love the legibility with the cyclops on the date and the 28800bph movement.
I feel like it’s very inconsistent. Many reviewers say the bezel never lines up, while some say it does. Some say the movement is extremely inaccurate in keeping time, while some say it’s not. I feel like it’s a hit or miss when going to buy one.
I have 013 in my collection, but can't say I love it... Bezel doesn't line up, but it doesn't bother me. Movement is ok, works within 0-15second per day. But the overall design of the watch is terrible. I bought it online, never seen one before, and it was mistake. It looks like 33mm watch and has thickness of 45mm watch... Proportions are ridiculously ugly, escpecialy if you wear it on that jubilee bracelet. Lately I have put in on everest band, that I bought for my Submariner, and it fits :) Thats a little funny, becouse the strap is more expensive than the watch, but thats the only way I can wear it. If you want to see the picture check my IG account @gingin_watches In summary - highly not recommended.
I used to wear my SKX013 on the original Jubilee bracelet and sometimes on a Nato, but after a few days on my new Miltat Super Oyster bracelet, I can strongly recommend that combination. It just feels like it lifts the watch to another level or as if the watch has matured in some way. Not the bling-bling of the original Jubilee any more, therefore some more balanced heft.
I know you get lots of requests, but would love to see one of your videos on tritium watches! Not the most common, but my dad has a Ball and the visibility can’t be beat. Thanks!
VERY NICE REVIEW TEDDY!...YEMA IS VERY INTERESTING DESIGN BUT 39MM IS TOO SMALL FOR ME. 41-42MM WOULD BE GREAT, SPECIALLY THAT BEAUTIFUL BLUE DILE THEY HAVE IN OPTION .
Great video. On another note... I don't understand why Christopher Ward changed there C60 Trident Pro design. The tear drop hand was like the CW trademark. I'm definitely holding onto my mk2 version.
I can't believe after all these years i had no idea Seiko did smaller divers. As you say, the problem is the regular Seiko diver's are just too big. Mind blown. Cheers.
The Baltic and the Yema are my favourites, perhaps I was French in a former life. Did consider a Lorier but plexiglass on a tool watch might not work for me.
Hey teddy, my wrist is 8 and a quarter inches so yeah it'd be real cool if you would do a "perfect" size like 42 to 44 mm list thanks man🤘 LOVE your straps bro, I own a fair few now👍
Balti is the best choice of the skin diver with great Blancpain heritage. The blue gilt watch is awesome and in my mind goves a great alternative to all Submariner homagws. So well done incliding the Aquascaphe in this video/
You should do a review of some of the straps you sell. Photos are great but a few wrist-rolls from yourself would give a better idea of how they look 'on-wrist'.
It‘s a pitty that entry level swiss brands like Tissot or Certina do not fill this gap for smaller sized divers. So thats why new brands enter and take the opportunity on this.
The original Turtle was wearing much smaller than I expected at the AD. So does the Citizen NY series and the cushion case Vostok Amphibia. The Combat Sub is certainly worth a look at because it is so flat.
Longines has, after delays, released their 36mm Legend Diver. Aside from the CWard, I don't think any other diver on your list competes for fit and finish
I think I have an under 8" wrist, but for some reason under 39mm watches start looking ridiculously small on it. tho Lunar Pilot 45 looks just fine. and it's a diver, have to be kinda massive. watched video to see new brands. but yeah 40-45 mm is what I wanna see.
I would have put the Mido Ocean Star on this list as well. They come in at 42mm, but the thickness is only 11mm and they wear small. Currently going for anywhere from $600-$775 depending on the the case color and strap option. I was looking at the rose gold two tone bracelet variant for $769.
I have a small 6.25 inch wrist and I’m looking for an affordable dive watch under $350. What are your thoughts on the Islander 38mm? I would love to see you do a review and give your thoughts on this watch.
Up the price a bit and you can include the Rado Captain Cook in 37mm, as well as the Rado Captain Cook mk2 in 37mm. Cases, dials, and crystals near clones of the original vintage ones, but made with all modern materials (I mean, it's Rado, that's sort of their thing) and an ETA movement inside. For someone who likes smaller divers, and likes vintage, these are smack on the nose.

I just picked up a Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba. It’s 40mm and wears great on my 6.75” wrist.
I just got the Marathon full size GSAR and I think it’s a great watch. Definitely recommend, if you like the style.
Steinhart Ocean 39 Explorer ❤️
Willard Hooton I have that. Great watch. Looks great on leather also.
Yoooo the Helson titanium diver is fireeeee
I prefer a big diver.
Seagull Ocean Star looks wonderful on my skinny wrists.
44mm but the lugs curve down.
That's the key to the fit on my thin wrists. I love the legibility with the cyclops on the date and the 28800bph movement.
It's all in the "Case shape" and "lug-to-lug". For example Skx007 fits really good on a small wrist
The SKX013 is the quintessential under 40mm dive watch...just wish they had some more colors like they do for the larger SKX brothers.
Agreed on that. Probably why modding is so popular with them
I feel like it’s very inconsistent. Many reviewers say the bezel never lines up, while some say it does. Some say the movement is extremely inaccurate in keeping time, while some say it’s not. I feel like it’s a hit or miss when going to buy one.
My problem with it is, it wears a bit bulky for me , and the dial is a bit sunken in from the dial,. Otherwise it looks very clean.
If you want to see the picture check my IG account @gingin_watches
In summary - highly not recommended.
I bought your red lizard strap for my 1964 Timex Marlin, and it is the bomb!
Got my eye on a couple of Yema watches 🧐
Quite an achievement to be able to miss an option as obvious in this category as the Hydro Conquest 39mm.
You're right about that. It's quite the watch for the money.
Lol give him a break, he can list which everyone he wants
Great video !!!! I love whenever you make videos like this one!!!! Siiiiiiiii
I know you get lots of requests, but would love to see one of your videos on tritium watches! Not the most common, but my dad has a Ball and the visibility can’t be beat. Thanks!
Great job! That Baltic.. so sweet.
that helson 38 looks amazing. picked one up immediately!
Beginning with Vostok is so cool. It's the most affordable dive watch of world.
VERY NICE REVIEW TEDDY!...YEMA IS VERY INTERESTING DESIGN BUT 39MM IS TOO SMALL FOR ME. 41-42MM WOULD BE GREAT, SPECIALLY THAT BEAUTIFUL BLUE DILE THEY HAVE IN OPTION .
Very helpful video, thanks for posting
Longines Hydroconquest 39mm can be had for under $900. Quartz version is thinner (10mm) and is a abound $700.
I have the classic Invicta Diver. For under $100 you can't go wrong!
Great video.
On another note... I don't understand why Christopher Ward changed there C60 Trident Pro design. The tear drop hand was like the CW trademark. I'm definitely holding onto my mk2 version.
William Parker agree, I didn’t mind the logo change but i really likes that handset
Certina ds action powermatic 80 should be on the list
Citizen Promaster NY0040-09E is the perfect affordable divers watch with great history, 42mm that wears smaller and high build quality. 🤙
Axios Flagship 40 is worth checking out IMO.
Find Junghans Max Bill is the perfect watch for me! I have tiny wrists but at 38mm it’s perfect
# 8 but I’m here. Great video teddy!!
Thanks for tuning in Jorge!
I always do just late sometimes. You do a great job. Thank you!!
Dear Ted, you have ignored the Seiko, Citizen, Rado & Tissot brands, please include in your future reviews. Many Thanks.
1:57 what's the name of the watch ?
can anyone tell me what the fluorescent version of yemasuperman heritage is called? its at the time 10:07
dylan kim superluminova c3 i think. If it’s not c3 it’s c5 but pretty sure it’s the first one on this watch. Super bright in the dark.
I can't believe after all these years i had no idea Seiko did smaller divers. As you say, the problem is the regular Seiko diver's are just too big. Mind blown. Cheers.
_c_d_c even their smaller divers are too big
I just bought my first watch, a Tissot V8 chronograph 42.5 mm. Thank you for getting me into watches 😎
Also do anyone know of a breitling navitimer homage in the under 1k price range? Thank you
@@SlipySquid the seiko flightmaster has a similar look in a smaller case. Also, citizen has a lot of models with busy dials like that
@@SlipySquid Check out the Poljot Blue Angels... mechanical Valjoux-type chrono!
weird question but is there a service where you can order and try on watches and then send them back?
The Baltic and the Yema are my favourites, perhaps I was French in a former life. Did consider a Lorier but plexiglass on a tool watch might not work for me.
Mark Playford plexiglass is less likely to break than sapphire.
Great info!
Yeah, a video about tastefully done large watches would be great. I would say that though, I am 6'5" and have 8-inch wrists.
Agreed! 6'2" with 7½.
Definitely do one for larger wrist!
'm2021 and I'm just sad SKX013 is discontinued and SO HARD to find...
Photos are great but a few wrist-rolls from yourself would give a better idea of how they look 'on-wrist'.
awesome list!
Great video. Perfect with the L2L.. Thank you very much
It‘s a pitty that entry level swiss brands like Tissot or Certina do not fill this gap for smaller sized divers. So thats why new brands enter and take the opportunity on this.
What about the DS action? Quite plain but fits the smaller wrist perfectly.
The original Turtle was wearing much smaller than I expected at the AD. So does the Citizen NY series and the cushion case Vostok Amphibia. The Combat Sub is certainly worth a look at because it is so flat.
Marinus Antonius Combat Sub has those beautiful down turned lugs for great fit too!
Longines has, after delays, released their 36mm Legend Diver. Aside from the CWard, I don't think any other diver on your list competes for fit and finish
Maen hudson is a solid option imo
Satoshi Koga Just received my 38mm blue Hudson (version 2.0) and it is amazing!
I needed this video!!! Great work Teddy!
Great video
the baltic looks so damn good but the price for a miyota movement is a very bad joke.
Great lineup and from someone with an 8.25” wrist, I’d still wear most of these offerings.
Let’s see what you recommend for us 8”+ guys now. 👍🏼
Amazing watches. Inspired me to set up my own RUclips channel
whats the watch (gold case, brown leather straps i suppose) on the poster behind?
the poster looks like it says something about an "electric Timex." it's definitely a vintage model
@@TraptbyBenjamin thanks a lot. I think it is 1967 timex electric.
Great video Teddy! I’m looking for a leather strap for smaller wrists so I don’t have to use the last hole typically:) any idea where I can get one???
I didn’t know that Marathon offers Automatic watches. It’s interesting. What do you think of Miyota and Serita movements?
What do you think of the Yema Navygraf FSM?
Nice choice on the Amphibian, I have the same spec. The bracelet it comes on is beyond useless though. I've heard stories of them injuring people.
The Lorier and Baltic are sharp
I would have put the Mido Ocean Star on this list as well. They come in at 42mm, but the thickness is only 11mm and they wear small. Currently going for anywhere from $600-$775 depending on the the case color and strap option. I was looking at the rose gold two tone bracelet variant for $769.
hello teddy, any updates on small affordable divers (36-38mm)?
I have a small 6.25 inch wrist and I’m looking for an affordable dive watch under $350. What are your thoughts on the Islander 38mm? I would love to see you do a review and give your thoughts on this watch.
SKX013 with ISO certified is the best value of the list
The yema superman ❤
Up the price a bit and you can include the Rado Captain Cook in 37mm, as well as the Rado Captain Cook mk2 in 37mm. Cases, dials, and crystals near clones of the original vintage ones, but made with all modern materials (I mean, it's Rado, that's sort of their thing) and an ETA movement inside. For someone who likes smaller divers, and likes vintage, these are smack on the nose.
