Never missed a beat, but Velocetts rarely do. Exelent video. I owned two 1938 mss Velos, and a 1955 mss, that my friend Charlie Neal brought up to almost Venom spec
Lovely bike. I,v been lucky enough to have owned 2 thruxtons A 1966, and a 1967 one .the 1966 one bought from Geoff Donkins. Fitted a 22 gearbox spocket on the 66 one reached 70mph in 1st gear ,90 in 2nd But would not pull anything in 3rd or 4th.Back to 18t.
Please note the wrist/fairing edge interference interface here. Made to be ridden in a crouch most of the time, bless it. One of the few British bikes I'd really like toown, even with the "wrong side" shift and 6v electrics. Well, at least you can change one of those things..
what wrong with 6v on a club man road bike it’s got a mag for ignition and modern led make a hell of a difference velos are its said are the best handling british bike i know i use to show up a lot of modern bikes but mybe it was the rides not the bike
I understand, Anthony - bought one in 1969. Rode it round England for a month, then shipped it and myself to JFK airport and rode it back to Minnesota. Owned her for 3 years doing more than 'puttering about', and traded for a Commando. Not a bad machine ,that, either. Still have the Commando but I'd like to have the Thruxton, too.

Have you got Amal GP carbs on that, hence the lack of idle circuitry?
You are correct.
Is this a stock engine or modified?
Its mostly standard.

Actually the right side shift.... the other side is both left and wrong.
