With two self absorbed parents. A father with an overriding hedonistic lifestyle and a mother absent for most of the year, how on earth did Caewlin grow up to be such a lovely young man. Parents more interested in their own desires than giving love and nurturing to their son and no doubt their daughter too.

Normally I’m put off with ridiculous, wealthy celebrity tv shows, especially in my country (US), but this was very interesting! The family and their estate is a part of English history and the younger couple seem easy going and down-to-earth! The baby is amazingly CUTE....I guess he is no longer a “baby” now. ☺️

With the 7th Marquess of Bath’s recent passing, it’s only a matter of time now before the seafoam green is gone from the grand entry. I was surprised to see it still green on an Instagram photo from the 2019 holiday season recently. I’d guess the repainting will be within the year though later due to quarantine and rescheduling of experts. I’m sure the repainting in a more historically correct color will be a relief to historians and curators.

A lot of (not the heir) sons of the aristocracy went off to China, Japan, India, Africa, etc. to make their fortunes back in the day. I suspect they wanted something exotic. Really what does a zoo have business being on an "English" estate? I loved the end result. So colorful and other world like. I imagine it was spectacular in person. I'll have to google and see what they've done since. Overall I've read the Longleat estate is doing quite well now. The cash, commitment and vision needed. If left to the old Lord...they'd be broke!

    • @elainabauer4531

Visitors are mostly from the area and they're not going to go to the same thing over and over again. It's just a theme for a few weeks. It's not permanent. The year after there will be another theme. This is how Longleat is one of the most revenue-generating estates and will survive for the next generations. Lots of estates are closing down because they're not renewing or generating revenue.

I have the same thought on the lack of filling system. As for hoarding, I think the importance lies within those pieces throughout the estate..... even the look of the landscape remain unchanged for ages.
I guess the way I see it is... preservation of a family heritage is hoarding and there's no way around it.

Lisa jessop... for your information , are you aware that if a Solar Storm were to hit our planet then ... ALL TECHNOLOGY AS WE KNOW IT TODAY WILL BE " FRIED " AND BECOME FOREVER IRRITRIEVABLE / USELESS ( there will be no cloud with back - up info ) including your car engine ? Are u aware of this science ? Do you know that this will inevitably occur sooner than later, maybe in your lifetime ? As certain as there will be another Massive Earthquake or Tsunami or Hurricane or Tornado or Big Flood... there will be another Solar Storm to hit our planet !!! The last one , if I am correct , was a bit over a hundred yrs ago ... at that time we did not even have electricity !!!! People like you make me shake my head , you are so secure in all things electronic ... bank - accounts, important information and all essentials and security of your lives ... yet you have no clue that WHEN this happens again, because of our dependability on this new technology, well, it will shut our lives down and send us right back to the 1800's or even further !! Keep that in mind and educate yourself a bit on this subject . Btw , accidents like fire or weather phenomenon can cause information ( on paper ) to be destroyed as well but in this case ... we can still try to find solutions to control that !!

@@XSCAPE-eg2dl We have solar storms all the time; almost every time you hear about power grids going down, that's what's happened. Could a really big one, say an X-10+, shut the planet down? Sure. But should we really not bother using electronic technology just because that possibility exists, as you seem to imply? If you do feel like that, why are you even here? Why are you using a computer to watch shows about the idle rich?

I can' t imagine being a brand new mom with cameras and peek-a-boos everywhere. Here the grandmother typically moves in and helps the new mom to transition into her new role. There's something sad about Emma. She seems lonely to be honest, though she desperately tries to be happy. I feel for both Ceawyln and Emma, their parents (the ones on camera) seem REALLY off. How did they turn out so normal?
And what's with the curator? She seems to have some thinly veiled aught against Emma. What was her little dig about her having slaves?🤔They're called ladies maids sweetie. Maybe it's all that clutter and trash in her office getting next to her. Maybe she needs a little help getting things in order. She'd feel better, less 'frail'.
