Wonderful interview!! This week, I ordered the Blu-ray of the the documentary! ❤👍
I saw the Carpenter's in concert 3 times! I have read all the books that I can find, & I have Randy's book, signed by him! Thanks so much for all of your research, and dedication, Randy! And, thank you, Rich! 👍

Very glad that Randy Schmidt mentioned the great contributions made by Karen’s closest friends. The memories of Frenda Franklin, Karen Ichiuji Ramone, and Olivia Newton-John contributed enormously both to the book *Little Girl Blue* and the documentary “Starving for Perfection.”

You are very welcome. She was extremely talented as well as being a great person. I am happy that you enjoyed watching it as much as I had recording it.

Great interview with Randy. I really wish more of what Burris did to Karen would come out. I realize there might be some legal issues & with Frenda asking Randy to turn off his recording I can only imagine the pain he put her through but those who truly loved her & her true blue fans should have that understanding. As of a year ago, Burris was still alive living in Sedona, Arizona.

Richard will never change -- control all the way.

I’m watching this, and I think I realize why Richard will never ask Harriet to sing with him. He would, again, be second fiddle to the singer. I was hoping that he’d ask her to sing on his little UK tour, but probably not even though it would be incredible.

Does anyone know why Tom Burris wanted the wedding albums? I know the video was sold to someone and found its way onto RUclips.

1979 Two ships that passed in the middle of the night. Karen Carpenter and the Real Book. The real sad part was that she could have single-handedly hijacked the American Song Book, the Jazz song book and eventually the Brazilian (Bossa Nova/Samba) songbook.

The book was much better than the documentary.

Haynes movie was a student bootleg video way back in the day. I've seen it more than once. Richard ostensibly banned the movie from release because Haynes used actual Carpenters songs on the soundtrack, but I think the real reason is how he thought he would be perceived in his actions towards his sister and her battle with AN. He doesn't come across very well. 😉

Said she had such a rotten cold-hearted mother that didn't show any kind of love or respect for her own daughter. Seems to me she was a narcissist jealous of her own child...and Karen paid the price.

Sounds like Richard a bit narrcistic
