She is legit the one of the greatest vocalists. But is such a wholesome and nice person as well. One of my best experiences was being remembered by Patti herself. Im from South Africa🇿🇦. My story starts when Patti joined Oprah Winfrey when Oprah came to open her leadership academy in SA. Patti and Oprah were singing with us locals and I managed to go up to Patti to introduce myself. She was so nice and gave me the nicest compliment saying I reminded her of her late friend Luther Vandross, (whom I am a massive fan of as well) because I was just as large, in charge, tall, dark and handsome as him and could sing, (not like him but in my mind she did say I sang like him #dontstealthedream😂😂😂) nicknaming me Baby Luther Anyways years later when Patti would return to SA I made sure to be at her concert. During her encore of I believe I can fly she decides to walk up the aisle while singing and walks pass me she walked to the back of the auditorium when she reached the end of her song started strutting back to the stage but taking the chance to interact with the fans. She proceeded to walk pass again and turns around and shouts out "Baby Luther" and gave me the warmest hug ever after which I may or may not have fainted but that ended up being the best moment and day of my life ❤
Patti is the real deal! Some of the best nights of my life she was onstage blowing our minds with her singing and doing things for her fans that she did from her heart. If I had a dollar for every kind thing I knew she did ( when no one was watching or would ever know) I'd be a rich man. I would bring friends to the Tropicana in Atlantic City or the Minskoff in New York City and they would be fans for life. They couldn't believe Patti knew my name. I'd say " this phenomenal woman knows the words to 1200 songs my name is easy and they'd laugh!" Her voice was so big and amazing that television sets and stereos didn't do it justice. I feel on some of her earlier works it was hard to even get it right on recordings. Well Baby Luther keep on singing! If you can get a later released on Philly records the CD Patti Labelle live in DC those were the type of shows we lived for.
You Can be a Patti Fan and not be able To sing. her voice make You want To sing and This is How i've learn singing. Those men She brought On stage, lived their best lifes out there 🥂🎉🎉🎉🎉
That was performed in Los Angles California and was a different night of recording. The record company tweeked the album before it’s released because Luther Vandross’ record company wouldn’t sign off on his feature so in came Eddie Levert and Gerald Levert if you look it up They never were in The Hammerstein Ballroom putting on show together but in 1998 they didn’t know we would have google to fact check and undo their manipulation manifesto 😂

I love the video where they turn up her whistle cause I know live that never happened while singing with Ms. Patti 😂😂
@@librnx1988 They didn’t turn it up. The whistle in the fan edit is from her interview where she showcased her range.
Anyone know what the lyrics are for the intro to Lady Marmalade?
