i think the AMY documentary captured her life and career perfectly. it had real footage of her and told her story the right way. we really don't need an impression of her. let her rest.
I remember how she was torn down & made fun of while she lived. Now, the british media act as though she was their cherished, beloved icon. It's so sad she wasn't given this love & respect during her lifetime. Let this woman Rest in Peace.
Tale as old as time. Makes me think of how Marilyn is Hollywood's eternal sweetheart but she was treated like trash by almost everyone especially the press. Even her husbands were all abusive. She was so cool though. She was talented and smart. Just wanted to be appreciated
I find it fascinating how often nowadays people have sympathy and love for her when she's gone than when she was alive. The British press was a special brand of scum. She clearly was going through a lot of with her substance abuse and didn't fail at being cruel posting her on the cover. I've always have been a fan of hers and was heartbroken at how her life ended. She deserved better.
She deserved so much better! I too remember the cruel coverage, the Sun's 'Camden Caner' and the awful awful things they would publish about her appearance when she was clearly mentally unwell. It would never fly in this day and age. Amy was horrifically failed but we will never forget her. I hope it has been a lesson to the media , but I doubt it.
@@edelweiss-nh8si It is, RUclips deleted my comment about them. The British press is nothing but evil hounds who prey upon people who are vulnerable or doesn't quite follow their agenda. They were taunting Amy, trashing her when she was at her most vulnerable moments of her own life. They prey upon her downfall because they'll profit over the headlines of her own death. Now she gone, they're making money off of her death by creating Amy Winehouse over dramatized movie of her. They act like they love her now but they never cared about her, they only cared about money.
I am an Arab man. I used to work with the British Army in Iraq as an interpreter, and in the camp I always listened to Amy Whitehouse’s songs, but some of the soldiers used to tell me that she was crazy and had destroyed herself by becoming addicted to drugs. I was surprised by this talk at the time, but when Amy died, I was very sad and cried even more. I still feel hurt by her story😢😢
@usuario-ro8nx8lw6e
I would like to see the movie. I saw the Documentary Amy and that was amazing, very well done. But I have to say the girl that plays her in the movie doesn't look anything like Amy Winehouse, I feel like they could have done better with the casting. But I'm.still going to check out the movie when it comes out in May.
Addiction, bipolar, heart break and the pressure of being a high profile figure is too much for anyone to handle. Poor thing was treated terribly and it wasnt even that long ago.
Back to Black album is absolutely one of the best albums ever recorded. I feel like she created a brand-new style, taking influences from various genres.
Amy was a creative Genius. She was a Goddess sent to us to sooth us through music.... Now that she has returned yo the Gods - Act like you got the message‼️ Know your worth❣️
Amy would've hated this. She never liked being in the spotlight. Performing for large audiences wasn't for her, she preferred small underground jazz clubs. The constant hounding from the tabloids fucking destroyed her. Her last tour induced so much stress that she relapsed into alcoholism and died.
Exactly ❕I have a feeling all these people who hype this are not real Amy fans they really think that this is doing her justice or something 🤷🏻♀️As if this is like Walk the line or ray
Exactly. They make her out to be this fame seeking, desperate to make a mark superstar… not that I knew her but I do remember her saying something along the lines of she knew fame would kill her, and boy did it.
Exactly. Her last tour was so stressful she intentionally relapsed with alcohol so that it would be canceled. It was incredibly painful for her to sing back to black because she had a tendency to relive her past relationship as she sang about it. She just wanted to sing and be at peace. I feel like this documentary won’t portray her in the right light 😔
I Can still remember being 8 and getting ready for school here in Mexico, my parents had the news on and as my mom was doing my ponytail, I heard them announcing Amy’s death and showing all the tributes Mexican fans were doing, I remember being shocked. Her talent crossed borders that’s for sure❤
It's Mitch. He was unhappy with the Amy documentary because it painted him in a bad light and Amy too. I feel this film is not necessarily about telling the truth warts and all, it's more about correcting the documentary. He didn't want the documentary to win the Oscar either. Amy wouldn't want this biopic and I think it's about how much more money can be made on this woman.
What's wrong for letting her live again so new ppl can find her they did it with elvis several times and nobody complained abt it it's basically just letting her live on for years to come
It disgusts me how the media and the public ridiculed her, insulted and humiliated her so much while she was alive, and then conveniently turned around and praised her after she died.
I adored her when she was alive no matter what the media did she was one of a kind and there will never be anyone like her. I was so sad when she died I always hoped she'd get better and come back stronger with another masterpiece of music. ❤❤
You're right but from what I can tell of this trailer they're only telling one part of her story; trying to tell the love story that inspired her most successful album. That's the pitch. It's how they're selling the film to audiences, to explore the love that birthed it. The only way you can tell the 'same' story is if you come at it from another angle. This is their angle. They're dramatizing the love story, not necessary her 'life' story. The documentary told her life story well.
As a fan i don’t wanna know whats going on her private life, i like her as a singer and she deserve to be remembered that way.. let her rest and the legacy continue to exist. Period!
I'm gonna bet it's a lot of lies making him look like a loving father. People watch Amy the documentary. You'll learn how terrible he is and how much he took advantage of his daughter's talent.
My thoughts exactly! This is just another cash grab from Mitch Winehouse. Still exploiting his daughter from the grave! It infuriates me! If he would have been a proper father and allowed Amy to get the help she so desperately needed, she might still be here today! At every turn to try and get her help, he shot it down and prevented it! He was an awful father to Amy! But she loved him fiercely!
This film had touched me and left me with deep thoughts... I painted a pprtrait of Amy im 2010 and then heard that she passed away in 2011. I love you Amy, and I'll always miss you❤❤❤
We all know her story, those of us who lived and were blessed to live during her time. We know her voice, we have 'AMY' to know her life and we all remember the live trainwreck that happened on stage too. But what we DON'T need is this glossed over version of the truth and someone who's willing to make a buck off her story.
I didn't listen to much Amy Winehouse when I was young, but my stepsister would always play Back To Black all the time. Watching this has made me feel really excited for the film, and what's made me upset, is that I never knew Amy died, and legends never die. ❤ Rest In Peace Amy Winehouse ❤
Listen, I've been a fan of Amy's since about 2008. I was just a young girl in my early 20's. I was nearly obsessed with Amy and devastated when she passed away. Because of my fascination with Amy, I can easily say that this actress is just that... an actress, and maybe she's done a good job, I haven't seen it. But she definitely didn't capture Amy's personality, from what I see in the trailer. Maybe no one could. Amy didn't speak in regular, straight sentences like this. She really did not care about what other people thought of her, she was loyal to Blake, and she was kind. She also had a very idgaf kinda attitude about everything, very straightforward, doesn't mind offending people, speaks whats on her mind, kind of girl. She wasn't trying to impress people. If you go back and watch her interviews, you'll see what I'm saying. She loved Donnie hathaway, sam cooke, and once said she felt like a black man in a jewish girl's body. She was really funny and likeable. I wish she was still making music today.
That's exactly how I feel too. They made Amy into a basic character when she was far from it. I don't see any of her attitude in the actress or script. I loved that Amy didn't care what anyone thought and would talk however she wanted and I don't see that from the trailer atleast. It just seems like a bad impersonation of her
I am not an Amy fan... but I saw this movie today at the cinemas. In the past I did heard things about her... but now I've seen this movie. Damn... what a beautiful soul she was. RIP, she lived for her love and Jazz was her outcomes. Her music is fantastic!
Even if some press commentaries say this isn`t good, I think it is, the press doesn`t know what they`re saying. Amy is the best female singer I`ve ever heard. Honest.
Amy doc was the epitome of an Amy Winehouse film, and pulled the right heartstrings of her sad, sad song. This flick will likely end up like the Jimmy Hendrix film, forgotten before it gains its sealegs.
Bro said Jimmy LMAO. Tell me you're not a real fan without telling me. His name is Jimi Hendrix, one of the gods of guitar, Mr left handed on a rightie guitar, Mr military who served time, he was all around an amazing talent. No film will do him justice just like with Jim Morrison and the doors film.
❤please leave Amy to rest in peace , there is no need for this so called film , please show her some respect and dignity, rest in peace beautiful girl ❤️❤️❤️🌹💐💐💐
I saw the movie today and it was TREMENDOUS !!!!..... hypnotic the way Marisa Abela channeled Amy Winehouse . I so hope she gets BEST ACTRESS, because her portrayal was flawless.

Just visited Camden today and Amy lived here for a good many years. Camden's a great place to visit.Went in a pub where Amy used to sing and pull pints. RIP Amy you are sadly missed gal.
This made me cry - was a fan of hers since little. I remember the day that she died and I could not sleep. Even named my adopted dog after her, cause it was so close in time. The press would not leave her alone. Only hope this is a good one. Amy, you are truly missed.

@@TripleR250according to the doctor in the AMY documentary it was predominately the damage of bulimia and alcohol that essential ruined her heart. Bless her, it’s absolutely gutting how her life went.
I don’t know if she was broken, her heart was broken at one point. Yes, she struggled with her mental health, as many of us do, and became an addict once she tried doing drugs just as so many do, but ‘broken’ kinda sounds like she’s bad in some way, like innately fkd up, a loser, and I don’t believe that to be true. I’m sure you wouldn’t describe yourself like that, even though I know what you mean when you use the word. I’m already crying. And I already know I’m probably going to be crying throughout nearly the whole entire film. I have a tattoo of Amy that covers the bottom inside of my arm. She is someone special. She will always be a special soul so this is going to hit hard
Watched the film today on the release date 🍿 🎥 I must say it was gripping from start to finish and an incredible insight into what was such a wasted talented young lady with the world at her fingertips. The real moral of the story is addiction and abusive relationships can overcome anyone regardless off their social background or success 😪 …
I saw this movie last night. I was surprised in a good way. The movie is quality, and the actres did a good job playing Amy. On my way home, this movie was still busy in my head. It touched me...
I didn’t know what to expect watching this trailer.. and I’ve been left with a horrible feeling .. I definitely won’t put myself through the whole 90 minutes..
Just saw this tonight and the actress did a fantastic job! Those who criticize her are like those who criticize portrayals of another favorite icon, Marilyn Monroe. Ya just can't win. Anyway, I think she was very brave to take this on, and did her homework.
I've seen the Amy doc multiple times. I'm a sucker so I'll definitely go see this. One of the greatest albums ever? Bold statements like that usually make me roll my eyes. But for me, it's very true.
Same! I would even say she will go down in history of being the top 10 best artist of the 21th first century. I’ve cried at that documentary multiple times, but I refuse to watch this movie. The Director is a known pedophile and her FATHER is involved in this movie.
Just watched the movie in cinema. Let me tell you guys, it was an honest, respectful portrayal of her life - all the ups and downs. Also, I've realized now that the trailer doesn't do any justice to the actress - she was outstanding! A must-see to all Amy's fans out there❤ Rest in peace, angel.
I got to agree with you the actress did a fantastic job, at time while I was watching the film I honestly thought they had “clipped” some of Amy into the film she was that convincing,

Anyone who reacts like you really never understood Amy. Amy is not in appearance. Amy is soul, she is strength, she is life, as long as there are people who love her. Simple, don't watch. I'll see!

I am waiting for this biopic. If there are some like Elvis, Rocketman, Bohemian Rapsody, I wanna dance with somebody and even Bob Marley it just need to be here this one too. She was the voice of a whole generation.
You can see the inadequacy in her portrayal right here in the trailer. You don’t need to suffer through an entire film to make that conclusion. If you’ve seen enough real footage of Amy already, it is obvious.
Who ever said a love story had to be pure? Listening to Amy’s music, you can tell. She knew love. Just the kind that hurts you the deeper you fall into it.
@@nicoleedwards5708 When you say something is a love story, it doesn’t necessary imply some wholesome feel good story. There’s a time for moralizing and there’s a time to simply tell Amy’s story. We already know the love was toxic. We know the lesson here. Blake introduced Amy to heroin yes. I have a similar story. I understand the destructiveness and the carelessness involved. I think we all do. But to say her relationship or the relationship between Kurt and Courtney or even Sid and Nancy isn’t a love story is to deny them their own perspective. To say it is a love story, is to not make any moral statement or judgment. In fact, many love stories are warnings. There is an element of realism to stories like this that people can relate to because love can be mad. Especially combined with drugs. Love can be toxic. It can be destructive. It can even be deadly. We can look on from the outside and claim, that this isn’t love, and that someone who loves somebody would never do such and such. But who are we to say this wasn’t love? We can’t get in Blake’s head. I don’t think we’d want to. The guilt he likely feels would be enormously difficult. The sad truth is that he probably did love Amy but he didn’t know how to. I still carry anger towards the guy who introduced me to opiates but at the end of the day, I got clean and the last I heard, he is still struggling. His own suffering is punishment enough. I feel compassion for him. I don’t think he was or is a horrible person but he made a horrible mistake. As did Blake. In fact many of us are introduced to drugs by a partner or some guy we liked and were partying with. I had a friend who overdosed and died from Fentanyl and her bf had introduced her to it. There’s a reality to this story that plays out time and again that can only be told from the perspective of the addict. How do we recognize a story like theis if we deny one half of the lethal equation? That being love. You have to see past the judgment in order to understand, grasp and relate to Amy. The Back to black album was inspired by Blake and their tumultuous relationship. Those emotions were real. The rollercoaster of ups and downs was real. The pain was real. The love was real. It just happened to end in tragedy for Amy. We understand the lesson better acknowledging the aspect of her story that is a love story. It’s a love story because she said it was. She said that much through her music. Let’s respect Amy enough to see her life through her eyes and guided by her heart. Regardless of the end result. That is how we pay tribute to Amy. To acknowledge what she experienced. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
They were still in love with each other until the day she died. Yeah they were divorced and not together anymore when she died but they still loved each other a lot. They just both knew they were also toxic for each other so they decided to not be physically together anymore.
Give the film a chance, its very well crafted and acted ,I am a big Amy fan and most fans who see it agree ,stop listening what the press keep saying .Like Amy said Manners dont cost nutin.Back then she kept a lot of paps familys fed. Amy Jade R.I.P
As a fan. I loved the movie. I feel it didn’t exploit her or touch on sensitive things, it showcased her passion and talent. And of course that big “what if” love you Amy Jade!
Can Hollywood please stop making movies about celebrities’ lives starring other celebrities, especially celebrities that have met a very un-peaceful ending-these comments pass the vibe check too because Amy Winehouse probably would have not liked this. Keep her memory alive by listening to her music. Not everyone needs a whole ass movie made about them and the documentary was enough. Like from Freddie Mercury, Elvis (even Selena’s family made a movie about her so soon after her death) Let people rest in peace. 😢
I feel like Asif Kapadia’s doc Amy did it just fine. It was the most intimate look we were going to get. A biopic is not gonna do her justice. My RA stayed in the hotel room she would’ve been in if the concert in Belgrade were successful. I’ve been a fan of Amy since Frank and I was so devastated when she passed. I had a feeling she was going through a lot and the bad press didn’t help at all.
I hope Her Mother (Janice) is also shown in this movie, These trailers we have saw a lot of Mitch and not a lot of Janice. Who is an absolute sweetheart.
I enjoyed it, went to see it a second time today. I didn't cry this time around. I enjoyed hearing her songs & other great tunes through loud speakers. I've been in her presence briefly a couple of times & knew of her & her work in the Frank era onwards. Amy means alot to me, I recommend that you give the film a chance. I enjoy the realness of that period, of the LDN music scene in particular from Ronnie Scott's to the 100 club. I miss those days & remember them fondly & the people I got to share those memories with.
I am floored I just had a dream literally the other day about Amy Winehouse having a biopic but with Lady Gaga as the legendary singer, and now I'm watching this trailer???
She has said with her natural dark hair she got mistaken, or compared, to Amy and it was part of the reason she went blonde early on. But after that people started the Madonna talk so she couldn't win either way.

This is to shed light into her life, and explain many things to people, people like myself. We knew her voice, but we didn’t know her background, and what she battled. Love almost broke me, and I related to the love she felt for that man. A man who did NOT deserve her, but she would do anything for that high. I know how co-dependent you can get in a relationship, and I felt it. These actors were amazing, Marisa Abela was perceptive, and she gave it her all, and she was perfect. Watching Amy in other videos, I wanted to match everything, and to the touch of her hair, how Amy would play with her hair when she sang, to when she said “I love you” to him with her face and her fingers, the way she moved, everything was spot on. Really enjoyed this movie. When I remembered my 7 years in that painful relationship, of drugs, violence, and crazy adventures, I felt Amy’s loss. When you know that person is not good for you, but it’s become a bad habit you cannot seem to break. All the actors did an amazing job. ❤
Looking forward to this! To those bashing the movie coming out I'm not sure why this isnt the first of its kind they were released during Amy's life she never publicly spoke out against it and for her fans this is probably something they are looking forward to. People say just let her rest but I'm pretty confident Amy current state has absolutely no change with the movies release. And as far as I'm concerned the best thing you can hope for after death is being remembered for as long as possible and this movie helps in this department. And most importantly this movie will bring her music to new ears and create new fans which is more important than any negative critic of the movies release who simply has the option to not watch it.
People need to stop profiting off of Amy’s image, the media has always been quick to throw her in the tabloids and talk negatively about her and the issues she went through. It’s a joke to see them rehash her story and throw glitter and stargaze into it, be so fr and let her rest in peace.
The director is a roomer it’s Sam Taylor Johnson. Not a coincidence that she married a boy the moment he turned 18. And met him when he was 17 auditioning for ‘nowhere boy’
not only does she not look like her, she’s absolutely butchering her accent as well. bad casting aside, this is just another thing that’s painting Amy out to be something she wasn’t. even if it’s meant to be in her honor, it’s still just a disrespectful money grab. marisa abela isn’t amy winehouse, she’s an exaggerated caricature of the woman. RIP Amy, i’m so sorry they won’t stop exploiting you.
Completely agree. It's not like London has a shortage of Jewish girls who look a bit like Amy and can sing. Should have gone with a proper North Londoner, not some Brighton wannabe.
spot on, the part where she says “i don’t write songs to be famous..” etc grosses me out.. either she’s horribly forcing the accent which sucks bc surely they coulda found someone who could do it, or else they’re trying to make it sound like shes slurring her words either way it’s just odd and gross
what i **really** dont understand about this dumbass biopic is that Amy died relatively recently? 2011 wasn't that long ago? We had the technology to take so much footage of her, so why not just enjoy that instead of paying some jester to cosplay as her for 2 hours?
@@Emma-xm9gb omg yes and then the “i aint no spice girl” it sounds so corny and is just executed terribly in my opinion, i just know Amy would cringe so hard.
That's how I feel as a long time fan of hers! I had VIP tickets to see her in concert in 2007 but she cancelled her tour to go to rehab for the first time and I never got the opportunity to ever see her again :( I remember the first time I heard her music, I fell in love with it and then when I seen what she looked like and how beautiful she was I was just blown away even more. I call her my "Virgo Soul Sister" because I'm exactly 10 days older than her (same age. She would have turned 40 with me last year if she was still alive.) and our lives were so much alike in so many ways it's kinda weird. We both struggled with a lot of the same demons and both had dysfunctional, drug and alcohol fueled abusive lovers at the same time. At the height of her fame in 2007, I was REALLY struggling with addiction/alcoholism much like she was. I made it out and got clean and she didn't and it makes me so sad. I remember the day she died it just didn't feel real. It still doesn't really feel real to me and it's been 13 years this year....

@@redacted2275 That’s a very good point, people should watch some footage from her early days like 2003/2004 and progress to the videos from her peak of fame 2006-2008. And listen to videos of her actually singing live, she had such a beautiful voice and that’s the important thing to remember
Fellow huge Amy fan here. This is just distasteful. The Amy documentary was amazing and IMO captured everything about her and told her story in a positive way. I remember how she was torn down & made fun of while she lived. Now, the british media act as though she was their cherished, beloved icon. It's so sad she wasn't given this love & respect during her lifetime. Let this woman Rest in Peace.
Same thing happened to Princess Diana
@ositalorenzombadugha9331
The British media LOVED Diana, what are you talking about?
The movie shows how horrible the press treats her and how it affected her
Tale as old as time. Makes me think of how Marilyn is Hollywood's eternal sweetheart but she was treated like trash by almost everyone especially the press. Even her husbands were all abusive. She was so cool though. She was talented and smart. Just wanted to be appreciated
@@Krystallia87 they love money money money
That because British media were preying upon her down fall to make profit out of it. Now they're making profit out of Amy's life in a movie now.
Exactly, this film is just another chance for people to tear her apart without her consent.
That British press seems awful!
Thank you for your service as an interpreter 🙏🏻

I would like to see the movie. I saw the Documentary Amy and that was amazing, very well done. But I have to say the girl that plays her in the movie doesn't look anything like Amy Winehouse, I feel like they could have done better with the casting. But I'm.still going to check out the movie when it comes out in May.
Addiction, bipolar, heart break and the pressure of being a high profile figure is too much for anyone to handle. Poor thing was treated terribly and it wasnt even that long ago.

The documentary, "Amy" was incredible. There was no need for THIS film to be made.

And the beautiful thing is you don’t have to watch it 😃
Cash grab
@PelvisPresley420 the fact her shit dad endorsed this says a lot
Well said. Seeing this trailer just made me rewatch the documentary.
The smack had a big part of killing her ffs
Exactly. They make her out to be this fame seeking, desperate to make a mark superstar… not that I knew her but I do remember her saying something along the lines of she knew fame would kill her, and boy did it.
I mean nothing in the trailer seems to show otherwise. "I don't write songs to be famous" etc.
Her talent crossed borders that’s for sure❤
i dont think anybody asked for this or wants this. Amy wouldve hated a biopic being made about her
Not how capitalism works
a money hungry father. Lets not forget her OWN family sold pages from her diary. what kind of family is this...
What's wrong for letting her live again so new ppl can find her they did it with elvis several times and nobody complained abt it it's basically just letting her live on for years to come
Especially because how she looks
It disgusts me how the media and the public ridiculed her, insulted and humiliated her so much while she was alive, and then conveniently turned around and praised her after she died.
What that means is people don't realize what they have until it's too late.
I adored her when she was alive no matter what the media did she was one of a kind and there will never be anyone like her. I was so sad when she died I always hoped she'd get better and come back stronger with another masterpiece of music. ❤❤
IMO - The documentary "Amy" captured her life very well. I don't think this movie is needed!
exactly my thoughts!
I hate watching documentaries I like things dramatized
Good thing you weren't consulted when it was being made then aye.
I agree
You're right but from what I can tell of this trailer they're only telling one part of her story; trying to tell the love story that inspired her most successful album. That's the pitch. It's how they're selling the film to audiences, to explore the love that birthed it. The only way you can tell the 'same' story is if you come at it from another angle. This is their angle. They're dramatizing the love story, not necessary her 'life' story. The documentary told her life story well.
As a fan i don’t wanna know whats going on her private life, i like her as a singer and she deserve to be remembered that way.. let her rest and the legacy continue to exist. Period!
I'm nosey and want to know.

I miss her! That voice was everything. Why am tearing up watching this. One of the GOATS!!!! The good certainly dies young. 💐💐💐
Maybe see the movie before declaring the actress "didn't capture Amy's personality". You'd be more credible.
You looked up to that junkie? Maybe pick better role models 🤷
Long way to say an uneducated junkie
That's exactly how I feel too. They made Amy into a basic character when she was far from it. I don't see any of her attitude in the actress or script. I loved that Amy didn't care what anyone thought and would talk however she wanted and I don't see that from the trailer atleast. It just seems like a bad impersonation of her
Too bad she isn't but appreciate the mark she did leave on music and the world.
I am not an Amy fan... but I saw this movie today at the cinemas. In the past I did heard things about her... but now I've seen this movie. Damn... what a beautiful soul she was. RIP, she lived for her love and Jazz was her outcomes. Her music is fantastic!

I don’t know if she was broken, her heart was broken at one point. to call hers and blake’s relationship a “love story” is just wild
Who ever said a love story had to be pure? Listening to Amy’s music, you can tell. She knew love. Just the kind that hurts you the deeper you fall into it.
@@mercurialshift5793 that’s a gross romanization of an abusive relationship
They did love each other

Can Hollywood please stop making movies about celebrities’ lives starring other celebrities, especially celebrities that have met a very un-peaceful ending-these comments pass the vibe check too because Amy Winehouse probably would have not liked this. Keep her memory alive by listening to her music. Not everyone needs a whole ass movie made about them and the documentary was enough. Like from Freddie Mercury, Elvis (even Selena’s family made a movie about her so soon after her death) Let people rest in peace. 😢

Amy had a vibe to her that nobody can touch this isnt giving amy vibes look or sounf
This film is amazing, great acting and the main actress has a great voice.
Still working in movie 🎦 🙋🏾♂️
My mom hear this in downtown 😂😂😂 from ⛪
Looking forward to this!
Should have gone with a proper North Londoner, not some Brighton wannabe.
spot on, the part where she says “i don’t write songs to be famous..” etc grosses me out.. either she’s horribly forcing the accent which sucks bc surely they coulda found someone who could do it, or else they’re trying to make it sound like shes slurring her words
either way it’s just odd and gross
Idk why but I think gaga would have been a better choice 🤔
what i **really** dont understand about this dumbass biopic is that Amy died relatively recently? 2011 wasn't that long ago? We had the technology to take so much footage of her, so why not just enjoy that instead of paying some jester to cosplay as her for 2 hours?
@@Emma-xm9gb omg yes and then the “i aint no spice girl” it sounds so corny and is just executed terribly in my opinion, i just know Amy would cringe so hard.
This seems like a terrible idea on many different levels
trailer was awesome!
@@stumack9755Did you see the documentary “Amy”? That suited her. This movie is some glossed over, whitewash version of her life.
Civil War trailer was pretty good too :)
You know your getting old when you lived through witnessed her death now a decade and some change have passed and a movie is coming out
That's how I feel as a long time fan of hers!
@@hwoods-kg1jf first off congratulations on your sobriety and getting through it like you said allot of people don’t make it to fight that but you did your on earth for a purpose so thank you for being alive & i never got to see her live as well and when she passed I was so shocked and I didn’t really keep up with her I know more of her story now as an adult
@@LiotaR thank you 🙏🏻 😊 so much! ❤️
I'm Not Afraid To Say That I Enjoyed It So Much That I'm Staying To Watch It AGAIN!! And Yes I Did PAY For Both Screenings. We Were 2 Of 5 Other Audience Members But We Didn't Care!!
I'm proud to say she's a North Londoner. One of our own
Just got back from the flicks. Marisa Abela is OUTSTANDING in this.
Very true. The advert doesn't do justice.
Could not handle the heat of fame but what a burning hot flame of talent she was.
I urge anyone who doesn’t know much about Amy’s life but is thinking of seeing this movie in cinemas to consider watching the Amy documentary (2015) instead, and if you want to watch the biopic wait to see if it’s coming to a streaming site you have.
*Of course everyone can watch what they want but as a diehard fan, this movie just irks me and Marisa Abela doesn’t even look like Amy! So pls try learn about her real story
I also recommend watching the dozens of compilation of interviews, tributes that were released at the time of her unfortunate death to know her. There's no reason for this to exist.
This movie just reeks of trying to capitalize on her struggle once again, and like you said I cannot stand how the actress looks absolutely nothing like her and doesn’t sound like her either. Huge disappointment all around.
@@dakotagroves7392 My thoughts exactly. From my POV, the fact that Mitch is supportive of this biopic and involved in it explains a lot also. The documentary (and fan-made RUclips documentaries as well) rightfully call out Mitch, hence his opposition to Amy (2015).
He’ll probably get a free pass in this movie
@@Emma-xm9gb yes exactly. He even defended the decision to cast Marisa Abela saying she captured Amy’s essence or something along those lines. I see absolutely none of Amy’s essence in this whatsoever. And you’re right that’s why he hated the Amy documentary so much bc it was truthful and honest. I have a feeling that this movie won’t be
They better do her right in this movie.
when have they ever?
Judging by the trailers, I doubt it.
doubt it
It's so sad. Amy was supposed to be Adele smh
@@Mone333Williams To me, she was. She was 10x better. Honestly, I don't think she would have been comfortable with Adele's level of success.
Ive seen the movie yesterday.
The actress is amazing. And the actor who plays Blake is too.
There’s a lot of singing.
Its not really a biopic, its more a movie about the famous album and about her relationship with her grandma, her dad and Blake.
I very much liked it
Why ya‘ll hating. It’s a great way to remember her and her incredible talent.
My idol. My inspiration ❤❤❤❤❤
I loved this movie. I’m just now learning about her, so this movie helps me a lot to understand her, especially in her songs, now I understand why she wrote them and sang the way she does. After this movie, I listened to more songs that I’m discovering of her now bc of the movie and it just gets me choked up and just cry bc I can understand her point of view now and it makes me even more sad knowing she’s gone.
I’ve just watched the film and I think it is a deep look into why Amy was so infatuated with Blake something not really explored in the documentaries about Amy and I must say the actress that plays her was so convincing that at times I honestly thought they had “Clipped” Amy’s voice into the film, defo go watch it
Amy would HATE this
I watched this movie yesterday.
The actress did wonderful job.
I really liked this movie.
This will be superb to show Amy and her passions. I look forward to watching this.
Desde Chile 🇨🇱 con todo mi amor viaje a Londres sólo para caminar por las calles de su querido Camden 💕
Literally having goosebumps 🥹I just start listening to her music though ❤❤
It's a very nice movie, I recommend watching it till the end
Too sad that she passed too soon! I love her music. rest in peace Amy W🙏🏻❤️
