Sometimes reality beats a well meant prediction. Nadal out in 3 sets. Nadal was a great player - like Agassi, Sampras, Federer or Djokovic. But like ALL the others mentioned here - no one can beat time.
There are some quetion marks surrounding the top players, so predicting is very difficult. I guess Medwedew is the most likely to win it all considering the health or bad stretches of other good players. Rafa will go out in the first round. His body is done for professional tennis at least at the highest level. Djokovic is the only guy that might turn around the bad form as he seems to be healthy. Dimitrov might make the semi finals, but hard to believe he's gonna win it all. Same for guys like Tsitsipas, Zverev or Rublev. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. That's what Mike Tyson said. And no other sport are those words more truer than in tennis. Good luck to you on your picks sir! It was a nice listen 😊
Yes, Nadal could lose first round or win the whole thing, but the odd is probably not 50/50. As a non Nadal fan, I would say the odd Nadal wins the whole thing is less than winning first round because winning first round is just one match, even if it's against a top opponent like Zverev.
djokovic geneva semi final, all can see he chose to lose starting from 1st game, he has enough for warming up, also he wanted to rush to RG for preparation!

Most probably Nadal will lose to Zverev in the first round and even if he survives its a grand slam best of 5 set, 2 weeks tournament and unfortunately Nadal body is very unstable and can break down at any match and any stage of the tournament. So imho Nadal has least chance to win the tournament.
By picking Nadal to win already made this whole sheet a joke. Playing a 5 set match is way to much a challenge for Nadal. He will lose 1:3 in the first round.
As explained in Eliza’s IG live and this video, Nadal is an emotional pick, the rest are not. Let’s see how my draws pan out, I don’t mind getting heat if I’m wrong 😂
Nadal wining RG 2024? Sorry, but you are living in a fairy tale land. I'm Rafa fan myself, and all I expect from Rafa this RG that he looses to Zverev in style. that we are getting a competitive match. 3:0 would be ok, if there are some tiebreaks, 4:1 is what I think we going to get, and I'm ok with that, 3:2 is wishful thinking. ask yourself again the question: can Rafa win this tournament in his present state? Can Zverev? there is a clear no/yes answer to that. God, I wish to be wrong, but reality is what it is. People (not only you) are picking Rafa win 1st round and go deep and eventually win the whole thing based on weird kind of religion around Nadal being RG semi-god. He is not and his time is up. He knows it, but the fans doesn't want to see it. Good and kind of close match is all I wish for.
@@danielcraig2343 Collins has been better on clay this season. They both reached the semis in Rome but Collins reached the semis of Madrid while Coco lost to Keys in the R16.
I can't take your picks seriously if you really thought Nadal had ANY chance of winning the whole thing. That was absolutely ludicrous. I took Zverev -1.5 sets and it cashed. Pick with your brain, not your heart.
With Djokovic in a bizarre mental state - almost as if he's playing hide and seek - Sinner and Alcaraz both struggling with injuries, the current big three are no clear favorite, hence the tournament is very open. As such you can bet on any recent clay court winner, that is Zverev, Ruud or Tsitsipas. While Nadal has a mythical status in Paris and will go to the max in what's likely his last, him winning RG would be a miracle, given his results in the recent tournaments. Miracles do happen, but predicting them is rather delusional. See, on one hand there are the odds that Nadal finds his best form on his favorite surface, suddenly running as fast as before, unleashing ground strokes and serves at paces considerably higher than the whole of 2024. On the other hand there are the odds that Alcaraz's wrist injury doesn't hurt him that bad, or Sinner's hip clicks back to where it should be, or Djokovic retrieves his mental state, or Ruud, Tsitsipas or Zverev finally take their game beyond a GS final. Any of these odds IMO is higher than Rafa's sudden retrieval of top form. In such a fuzzy environment, I wouldn't forget about a certain player, who has won a GS before, who can grind it out like the very best in history and who's somewhat ignored because of his reputation on clay. I'm of course talking about Medvedev.
Honestly, I also thought Rafa could win. I watched the match; it was closer than the score may indicate. He needed an easier match for the first round to get his confidence back, but zverev was very solid. It was not meant to be this year. Hope Rafa can get healthy and give it another go next year.
You have guts picking Nadal to beat Zverev on Monday. But then if Rafa did not think that he could win Roland Garros, he wouldn't play the tournament. I too believe that Nadal can beat Zverev on Monday. And if he does, watch the hell out 🙂
I love the comments at the end, re wishful thinking :0 Very comprehensive predictions. it is up in the air on the men's side, should make this French Open very exciting indeed. If I want someone to win, I think its time for Tsitsipas. Can he do it this time?
Told people last year Novak likely wins RG This year I have to say he is almost certainly losing. Probably to Ruud. Which I can't believe I'm saying either, and probably Ruud wins the whole thing. Long time since some 1 slam wonders has happened, and I think the stars have aligned for it this time Otherwise Alcaraz is in good position. I also cannot count Nadal out. I think he has one of the best paths to win, because a lot of players in the 1st quarter have a lot of clay people that could get tangled up in 5 setters who will be weared down. And Nadal is not chasing points, that he faces Zverev r1 or qf, doesn't matter a final or 1st round, Rafa is only interested in the win. He has also shown he can beat Zverev, and beat the most peak version I've ever seen in under 2 sets, where Nadal was a shadow of himself last time.

I think because Nikola got the Nadal prediction so wrong he should give all subscribers a free lesson. Hehe
😂
I love the comments at the end, re wishful thinking :0 Very comprehensive predictions. it is up in the air on the men's side, should make this French Open very exciting indeed. If I want someone to win, I think its time for Tsitsipas. Can he do it this time?
Told people last year Novak likely wins RG
This year I have to say he is almost certainly losing. Probably to Ruud.
Which I can't believe I'm saying either, and probably Ruud wins the whole thing. Long time since some 1 slam wonders has happened, and I think the stars have aligned for it this time
Otherwise Alcaraz is in good position.
