Roddick might be the most intelligent guy that ever played the tour. Everything he says is interesting and/or funny.
Agassi is a lot more knowledgeable and tactically brilliant than Roddick.
Some times.
0:55 "You would've been betting on hackers like me." Wow, this comment shows how incredibly modest Roddick is. People are idiots. They don't understand what Herculean talent it takes to win even ONE tennis major! I remember when Andy won the U.S. Open. His serve was second to none. I remember how he was the toast of the world and yet when he appeared on David Letterman he was like a deer caught in the headlights, stupefied at all the attention he was getting. It was amazing to see. The world was Andy Roddick's oyster and yet here he calls himself a hack. Wow, what a good guy. Thanks mom for raising him right.
I think Ruud has a very good chance to win his 1st GS.Would love to see him win it.
Ruud favorite if he stays injury free. Alcaraz would be favorite, but I don’t believe he can stay injury free for a long tournament.
Zverev best outsider, maybe Tsitsipas. Nobody else.
Djokovic, Alcaraz, Sinner, Nadal all out of form so anyone from Tsitsipas, Rublev, Ruud, Zverev and even Medvedev have good chances.
My picks are Casper, Jannik, Zverez, in that order. Outside chance: Tsitsipas.
@@KnowTrentTimoy Casper has not beaten Tsitsipas in their last clay court match and Sinner is a much better player than Casper. I think Alcaraz will win it this year and that Sinner might have to retire.
@@adelaideholmes5674Ruud beat Tsitsipas in Barcelona lol
I think Tsitsipas and Zverev have good chances to win the FO.
They are the top contenders in my opinion
Djokovic, zverev tsitsipas or ruud
Yep.I think Zverev will win it.
Never count Carlos out, he confirmed he will play yesterday
@@user-tc9fn9ux2u that's good. Carlos and Jannik are the two top seeds and favourites, but if they are not fit, Zverev and Tsitsipas are next in line
Zverev or Rudd are good bets. Rudd knows how to get to the end. Maybe he can finally win it
Do you mean Ruud? Otherwise, I don't know who this guy "Rudd" suppose to be..
It's now or never. Before the young guys take over
Yeah, Paul Rudd!
I think that rublev and tstitsipas will come far at FO. Alcaraz looks unsure and the southtirolian kid will probably not play, so this is the big chance for them make something.
I wish Andy wouldn’t put himself down even as a joke as much as he does. He’s a hero and a lot of us really look up to him!
You can never rule out Djokovic. But the most in form players on clay right now are Tsitsipas, Rude, Zverev and Rublev. If Tsitsipas can maintain his form I think he is probably the favourite. His spot serving, forehand and back hand have never looked better.
Rudd and rune are both hurt rn. Ruud tweaked his back and rune got arm problem atm
You cannot know this before the draw comes out.
Djokovic V Nadal 1st Round would be EPIC!
Nobody’s interested in that boring match. Nadal is fine on his own.
@@Skjeggspir
U started watching tennis last week or something?
@@crasherbasher8067 wrong, Nadal has zero interest in that match. Only you desperate Jokeovic fanboys need it. Nobody else. Nadal crushed him in the last match and has zero interest in his inferior ex rival anymore.
Sorry this fact was too advanced for your brain, now go cry some more.
Why are we in such a weird spot in tennis Andy!? Like watching these great players in their decline is sad but I guess it is just the way it goes they are so great I do not think they NEED to win anymore 🎉🎉 but I will miss seeing them play
I think it’s because we’ve never seen anything like the big 3 in the history of tennis. In the past great players like Sampras and Roddick didn’t fade away while at the top. They got beaten away by younger players. The age of 30 was the maximum age you could expect to keep playing and be relevant. But the big 3 plus Murray have hung around well past where previous generations have been. Until Alcaraz and Sinner (with a possible exception of Thiem who has a positive record against the big 3) it seems like 2 generations of players have been unable to compete with those 3.
I would love if Alcaraz can win but i think Zverev will win his 1st grand slam IF the draw is the right one for him.
Zverev has been a top player for years now. About time he gets a Slam.
@@alburaq3290
Well, its always about how mentally strong you are.
Tennis is all 'head'.
Forearm injuries tend to heal fast with rehab… + he’ll endure more discomfort for a grand slam. I see Carlos still being a serious threat at the tournament!
I keep wondering if Alcaraz is going to be one of those injury prone geniuses whose talent is off the charts but don't succeed at what they are capable of. I thought Nadal was one of these people. He proved me wrong. How many majors will Alcaraz win? How can he keep free from his injuries?
@@davidhunternyc1 Alcaraz only turned 21 and had absolutely no chronic injuries so far. Just minor stuff like a tendinitis in his forearm right now that will heal with enough rest. Nadal had a chronic foot injury from a very young age (Müller-Weiss syndrome) and still managed to win 22 Grand Slams.
@@mireafelder8194 Then let's hope Alcaraz shatters records too.
@@davidhunternyc1 He already has as the youngest World No.1 and Year End No.1 in tennis history ever.
@@mireafelder8194 Here's hoping he keeps going and remains injury free... but please, after Djokovic gets one more major, #25.
90s was a great time for tennis
I'm glad you didnt withhold on the "domestic abuse" words when mentioning Zverev's trial
Even more impressive that Zverev plays well after being the victim
of abusive women. More women assault men than the opposite, in all western countries. Didn’t you learn anything after Johnny Depp’s case?
@@SkjeggspirWhat on earth are you talking about? Statistically, men abuse other men and women more, and Zverev, along with his father, abused his former girlfriend. You are so thick.
Andy: A minus (-) usually represents a favorite. Meaning if Alcaraz was a -175 favorite and Djokovic was a -275 favorite Alcaraz would be considered statistically to have a 63.64% chance to win the tournament. At -275, Djokovic would be a 73.33% favorite to win it all. You meant Alcaraz is a +175 while Djokovic is a +275.
The odds are as follows:
Alcaraz +175
Djokovic +275
Sinner +400
Zverev +600
Tsitsipas +700
Ruud +1100
Nadal +1600
Rune +1700
Rublev +1800
Medvedev +2000
Off topic obviously but I think small bets on Medvedev, Ruud and Rublev provide good value and I think Zverev at +600 and Tsitsipas +700
There’s rarely ever a - (or pre tournament favorite to win a Slam). The rare exception? Rafael Nadal. The 17 times he’s entered the tournament, I would say he was a - favorite 12-14 times in his career and an outright favorite at least 15 times.
Federer was probably a - favorite to win Wimbledon 3-4 times and probably for the next 8-10 (aside from the French) after his 92-5 season which saw him win like 12 titles, have 4 of his 5 losses in finals and 4 of 5 them against Nadal.
Betting on Ruud is money in the bank.
CRAZZZZZZZYYYYY Rafa/Sasha R1???? WHAAAAAATTTTTT! Throwback Stan/Andy! So wide open 4 obvious reasons. Nole form & fitness. Carlos & Yannik injuries impact. Taking Novak d. Sasha in 5 & Sinner d. Alcaraz in 4. Novak d. Yannik in 4 for RG#4/CGS#4. Think Nole has found enough form in Geneva w/3 matches under his belt. My RG winning pix prioritized: Novak then Sasha then Yannik then Carlos based on form, fitness & injury questions. Thanx guys. Cheers, Milan
For the first time in a long time this years French Open is wide open, for sure.
Fun to have a wide open Slam for the first time in a very long time. Was boring to watch Rafa win every year
not for us Rafans
Glad to see you are sponsored by Wilson, my favorite tennis racquet brand!
I agree there is no favorite in RG.. but i think Djokovic will win if he gets to the final
Novak got a moderate concussion, rahpas got one foot plus a hip in the grave, carlos an arm injury, and sinner off a hip injury...ok I see why there are no clear favorites
Rafa go rafa.
Andy is right, alot of people can win not only RG but also Wimbledon in my opinion
I love Novak and I am a huge fan but I agree 100% !!! He is searching for something; motivation, form, something!
Zverev and Tsitsipas have shown the best forms coming into this French; and they should be considered as favorites. Alcaraz and Sinner are already goners plagued by injuries. Nowadays if you’re not totally fit entering a Grand Slam, you have zero chance. Djokovic should never be overlooked as he has proved over the years it’s extremely difficult to overcome him in a 3-out-of-5-set match. He may not have won a title all year and he may not have any significant momentum; yet he’s still unquestionably the GOAT in the game of tennis. Last but not least, the star of this tournament will be Nadal. He will lose early; but his record of 14 titles in Roland Garros will, in my book, never ever be duplicated.
Wrong, the convicted criminal Jokeovic only became the BOAT after he stupidly made himself hated worldwide, the most Booed of All Time.
He’s history after the infamous drug test in November 2023 when he was prevented from taking the steroids and has lost everything since that…which is expected when someone goes off the drugs.
Also, you failed to mention one of the biggest favorites Ruud, noob.
The so much for keeping your viewers, the very reason for the channel, out of the conversation.
Rafa Nadal.....vamossssss
PLUS 250. But yes, it's been a lonnnnng time
Ruud can win because of his experience in the final, but Zverev has made multiple semis and is playing amazing this year, would be surprised if someone other than Ruud, Zverev, Tsits, or Djokovic or Rune wins
Alcaraz?
if Alcaraz is healthy he is heavy favorite, but my favorite is Stef.
It's a long shot, but Fritz has the tools. I would like it if someone outside of the top 15 would win.
Quarters would be amazing for him. Would take a lucky draw to go further.
Ruud, Zverev, Tsitsipas in my opinion one of them is going to the semifinal. Alcaraz and Sinner have injury issues , Novak lost a bit of the motivation, nothing else to prove anymore and propel him. I doubt Nadal body could handle all the way to the final.
Don’t forget about Rune. He might have a chance if he gets hot.
that's what she said.
Im still betting novak and carlos vs the field. Novak in best of 5 mental advantage is leaps and bounds over everyone especially without sinner. And carlos hot on clay, which he will be after this training..should be super good
I dont k ow what betting odds Andy is looking at but Nadal is certainly not 4th favourite. The current top 4 favourites according to betfair in order are:
Alcaraz 3.75
Djokovic 4.1
Sinner 6.4
Zverev 8.2.
Nadal is 7th favourite at 18.5
Djokovic is still a heavy favourite, he just can't be bothered to play in anything other than Grand Slams, he clearly lacks motivation. He'll sort himself out.
That is all well and good but he's out of form,he has no coach his father just had a major accident and surgery and I don't think Clay is his best surface.
I don't think anyone can pick Nadal as the favorite when he hasn't even been to a final this year.
I will say that I think if he loses it will be in the first week but then again Carlos beat him in the final last year.
I suggest you find someone else to stan over because his days are numbered. Thank God
@@SScott-nr9vl Not staning for Djokovic at all, it's just that the ATP is a dumpster fire at the moment. Would prefer someone else to win.
@@kuab1313I think it’s a fun time to be watching tennis. I loved the big 3 (well, not a Djo fan because of his personality) but after 20 years of them winning most tournaments it’s fun to see the new players have a go at it.
@@adamcravets5408 Agreed but they are injured half the time...and not as consistent as the WTA big 3. Of course largely it's not their fault, it's the mad schedule with no breaks and lots of mandatory tournaments. Also because of more uniform/slower speed of different surfaces, which makes the rallies longer, leading to more injuries.
@@kuab1313Djokovic is no favourite stop joking
I think ruud is looking good
How about Jarry! ...he could beat any player in the top 10
This is a good thing, isn't it?
Sinner vs alcaraz and zverev vs ruud. Should be alcaraz vs ruud in finals with alcaraz taking it easily.
Come on Zverev!! This is your chance! Just needs to avoid Tsistipas and everyone else is very beatable.
Alcaraz will make it look easy
We wont know future of novak until usopen hes got 3 tries
This dude said he was born 1998? He looks older than Andy wth 😆
I bet some south American player
I bet on Sinner 😊😊😊
Definitely Sinner if fully fit
Unfortunately his doctors are recommending he not play so he may not be there.
Men tennis is wide open right now there are no clear favorites. I think Carlos probably the favorite and then Stefanos Tsitispas, maybe Zverev, then Casper Ruud. Rafa I think he is too old now. Novak is out of sorts right now. I think six or seven men got realistic chance going all the way. Disagree with Andy about 15 guys.
No one knows how healthy alcaraz is. If he is not fully healed, zverev or novak or tsitsipas or medvedev have a good shot. Tabilo, jarry, paul and struff will be dark horses. Nadal will be a nightmare 1st or 2nd rd matchup.
I think Ruud is the favorite with Zverev close second. I wonder where are all the Spanish and Argentinian clay court specialists. You can’t consider Tabilo or Pedro Martinez as contenders. Where are the new Moya, Costa, Corretja, Gaudio etc?
It's like Taco Bell 🤣
Rafa to win one last time on clay
It's open for Stefanos Tsitsipas. :)
Private jokes funny only to those in the joke
If Novak wins RG again, he will be the only player in history to have won every GRANDSLAM 4 times or more!
I don't see any of the younger generations breaking that record anytime soon. (Even if Alcaraz is barely 21)
I think his main focus is the Olympics, if he wins that fair. He would be one of the players that won every big tournament there is at least once.
Andy I have your back because Novak is playing like crap and he's acting weird and weird s*** is happening his father needed major surgery the bottle on his head it's like the universe is telling him that he sucks and it's time to retire.
How much does he need to win give someone else a chance.
Today anybody can win, every tournament is open. Ofc Sinner and Alcaraz are ahead of everyone but they are not healthy right now so...
Zverev has them both beat in H2H...just saying.
This is Zverevs year
Novak, Carlos and Sinner are battling physical and mental challenges and are nowhere near the level they need to be to make a serious run. I expect all 3 to get bounced in the first week
Medvedev is not 100% but he does have a good draw and Tsitsipas is having major squabbles with his father so I’m not sure how far he’ll go.
Zverev is in form and one needs only to look at his run in 2022 to see how good he is on clay
When he went down in that incredible semi, the match was about to go to a second set TB after an incredible first set TB. that match was already 3 hours old and the 2nd set wasn’t even over yet!
And oh, by the way, he took out Alcaraz in the quarters
Dead on regarding Novak. To me, he’s lost. There’s no purpose and edge to his game this year which is why he won’t make it out of the first week
I love Tommy Paul’s draw and I think he’ll go deep
In the other half, incredible opportunity for Dmitrov and I like him in the final to face Zverev but I think Zverev is ready to grab his first slam
First round? Shame for Rafa and I can see him summoning some RG magic to make it a competitive first set and possibly even winning but at the end of the day, Rafa does not have that much in the tank and I think Zverevs power and physicality will overwhelm Rafa. Hope I’m wrong but I think this will be a beat down. 6-4, 6-2, 6-1
If jannik would win RG....
I leave it to the experts, like Andy, to tell us what to expect. As an amateur, what I HOPE is that Novak wins the French and gets his 25th Open win. Ohhh... how sweet it would it be to defeat Nadal too. I don't care. Novak could've easily had a couple more majors under his belt but because of his own volition he does not. Genius turns into entitlement and becomes temperamental. Still, it would be historic to see Novak get his 25th on clay, where he's won 3 French Opens. I like to see records shattered. I want to see Djokovic surpass Margaret Court's record. In my mind Djokovic is the GOAT but there are too many naysayers. They must be silenced. I'm a bit scared of Sinner and Alcaraz though. I don't want to sound like the Nelly-John McEnroe, but is Djokovic aging out? Andy said it best, "It's like Taco Bell right now. It's open 24/7."
Djokovic won't even make it to the semis.
@@jonbonesmahomes7472 I hope you're wrong but I'm thinking you're right. How many times has Djokovic proved to the world we were wrong? Still, we keep pontificating his demise. Of course, we all fail. Humans fail and when Djokovic fails the peanut gallery will thump their chests and thunder, "You see! We were right!"
@@davidhunternyc1 Maybe he wins..who knows..but am not so optimistic..
Would be even sweeter to see Nadal beat Djokovic and win his 15th title there, Nadal could’ve easily had a few more majors if not for injury
