Świątek dobrze powiedziała po meczu, żeby kibice też trzymali standard, bo to nie piłka nożna, czy inny sport. To sport jedyny w sobie, szlachetny i nie chcę żeby na trybunach powiewały flagi, były race i krzyki kibiców. Takie sporty już mamy, a tenisa zostawmy takim jaki był i jest. Niestety wschodnia Europa, w tym Polska przenosi przyzwyczajenia ze stadionów piłkarskich na korty. Tenis, to sport ekskluzywny i trzeba umieć się zachować na trybunach.

It's no big deal to win a match when you dominate from the beginning. The trick is to win when the opponent imposes her own style of play.

Despite the visible chaos in her game, I noticed a certain pattern in Iga's game. She managed two parts of the matches and actually played two sets, not three. The first part was when Osaka was allowed to play on her terms, which ended with her being completely destroyed by IGA in the tie-break. However, the second set was a kind of provocation, she was up for grabs and in total she gave up 11 games to 3, then she started playing her game and it ended as usual. I feel the hand of a psychologist here. This is a really high bar in women's tennis, to which all other players and their preparation teams must adapt to be able to play with Iga on equal terms. The match in Madrid against Sabalenka took place at the same tactical level.

Even if Osaka was dominating most of the time and got more winners she still cannot manage to beat Iga on her bad day. She is former champion but not mentally (I hope she will get back to her best shape, just to make women tour more interesting). Osaka is indeed a warrior, but to compete u need both physical and mental strength.
And I can understand why Iga wasn't so happy about this win. It was a real struggle, bigger than she expect. And she probably knows she could do better next time. That's the difference between a champion and you. She becomes better while you are at your best, at the rock bottom :) Cheers!
