It must have been terrible for the people to experience this windy wall of death coming directly to them... Those footages are of brilliant quality, thank you Celton!
At first glance, it looks like many homes were spared with the drone footage. Then, you take a closer look and see the homes are off their foundations. How wretched! I listened live to Ryan Hall Y'all when this tornado was bearing down on this community. He called it early and was spot on. Such a heartbreaking event.
Thanks man, thankfully recovery efforts are well underway, I was genuinely surprised by the amount of aid that was coming in already when I was there and the tornado had occurred less then 48hrs prior. We see a lot of the dark side of this world but there is also a lot of good even if it doesn't get as much attention.
@@CeltonHenderson: That is amazing and I completely agree too. There is so much good in this world that just doesn’t get publicized but at least we know it’s out there.
@@CeltonHenderson wow. I would’ve thought the nasty ground scouring(in Bremen particularly) in addition to some houses being swept away would have warranted a lower end EF5 rating
@@RCmaniac1231 A lot of people do but I can’t verify the quality of the construction of the leveled structures in Bremen. The latest from the NWS has found a 190mph damage indicator in both Bremen and Mayfield.
This is absolutely horrible... Looking at the damage, everything is completely destroyed...it's almost a miracle that there isn't more victims... thanksfully... My prayers goes to the family of the victims, and to everyone who had to experience this nightmare :(
Looking at the devastation, how is this not rated EF5? Even Reed Timmer expected it to be an EF5. I know the rating is preliminary currently, but still.
It’s because of the quality of the construction observed, although there was a lot of “Degree of damage 10s” observed, none of the structures were built well enough to satisfy an upper bound wind speed estimate so the winds were estimated based upon the greatest damage observed to the most well built structure which in the case of this tornado was 190mph, just shy of EF5 strength. This tornado very well could have had (and probably did have) 201+ mph winds, however these winds did not impact the most well constructed buildings. Feel free to ask if you have any additional questions, I’m happy to answer.
@@CeltonHenderson the rating system needs to change imo. Add more radar sites possibly, and other stuff. Reed Timmer expected it to be EF5, almost everyone else expected it to be EF5. I personally doubt the 8 year streak of no EF5s. It seems like ratings always get close to, but not at the highest rating. It always is the case with Cat4 hurricanes too.
This is very well shot and valuable documentation of this devastating and heart breaking event. Excellent job Celton.
Thanks Hank, this event changed my outlook on tornadoes.

Thank you Achillion, always nice to see you in the comment section.

Good job my friend. I hope people are doing better down there.

the damage can still be seen on google maps today
Some Tornado can be deadly as like a EF-4 or a EF-5 right?
Yes, violent tornadoes like this are responsible for the majority of tornado related fatalities.
Is the rating on this still preliminary or have they settled on EF4?
The tornado is currently rated as a high end EF4 with estimated peak winds of 190mph observed in 2 different towns. Data is still preliminary.
@@CeltonHenderson so basically an upgrade is still possible
@@RCmaniac1231 yes an upgrade is still possible but unlikely.
