As a white man who is pretty much non-religious, I think it is confusing that a person of any culture, not just Muslim, moves to a Western country and wants that country to change to suit its needs. An example of that is we had a legal court case where an Islamic woman committed a driving offence, and a religious group refused to show her face to the police officers who stopped her. When it went to court, she was found not guilty as they could not confirm she was the driver, so she took complete advantage of her cultural beliefs to avoid taking responsibility for her actions, which were hazardous driving charges. When the government reviewed the case and tried to change the laws, the Society that represents those Islamic people called it discriminatory
Muslims need to move to Muslim majority countries and make these places better. If there was mass migration from the west to any Muslim country, the immigrants would be able to mould society in a way that balances the best of the west with Islamic life.
This is the type of video the western left falls for.....It's impossible, i mean, IMPOSSIBLE, for Islam to cater to any secular advance western societies made throughout centuries.....that religion is that rigid. I am at awe at the left in the West falling for this, and the way it's all in for that religion when it despise EVERYTHING that left fights for. This attitude will backfire big time, and we are heading there. And given how islam is the center to everything for a muslim, i quite don't understand why the fervent ones leave their own muslim country
I mean, if they left their muslim countries which are so great, one could only ask why. Why move into the West, specifically? Why try to seep in the same culture that caused the conditions you fled from in the first place? It makes little sense.
”Marketplace of ideas” is not correct, the West sees some values and ideas as intrinsically better than others. Those who are opposed to freedom of speech should not use freedom of speech to promote their ideas, that is hypocritical and disrespectful. If you live in the West and you want to instill muslim values in your children, it is a direct contradiction to western societies goal to assimilate immigrants into a secular democracy with as few subcultures as possible to keep social cohesion. If you don’t agree with this secular goal, you should not live in the West. If you don’t think the law of the western land you live in trumps sharia, you should not live in the West. If you condone religious values and actions that are illegal or generally seen as immoral in the West, you should move.
1st paragraph: freedom of speech should not be opposed. 2nd paragraph: you either agree with my values or should leave. Perhaps you’re the biggest threat to freedom and just lack any self-reflection?
@@practicalislamicfinance 😂 well the first paragraph is absolutely correctly understood. You should not use a right in order to shut down that same right. The second paragraph is not what I said, however. It’s not MY values, it’s general cultural values and laws. Western countries have their own cultural values, you know. Easy to forget if you describe them as marketplaces…
@@Ianopike Using a right in order to shut down that same right is exactly what you're attempting to do. "My values are general cultural values and laws and don't tolerate any type of challenge" is the antithesis of freedom of speech. You've found yourself in the classic conundrum of thinking you believe in freedom of speech but realizing that you actually don't when you don't agree with what is being said. Ironically, the very thing you erroneously ascribe to Muslims. My idea, is actually the opposite i.e. Let all ideas be subject to critical interrogation and let the best idea win in a free marketplace of ideas. The only reason to oppose this is doubt with regards to how well your own ideas will hold up.
@@practicalislamicfinance Nope, and the same argument can be made for tolerance: you cannot use tolerance to promote intolerance (f ex tolerating muslim intolerance of gays. Why on Earth should we accept that kind of intolerance?) Your argument only works if tolerance and freedom of speech is limitless, but it never has been. It’s a political arena where you have to accept the rules in order to get inside it: you can only ask for free speech if you are ready to give it to others, same with tolerance. Secularism, tolerance and freedom of speech has been around for centuries in the West, it’s a fundamental part of our culture. It only works in societies where the majority population uphold those same values. No country has an obligation to accept ideologies that are trying to use their cultural rights in order to destroy those same rights.

Most Muslim countries have a ton of issues that put many of us off as well. Many don’t have a good standard of education, poor justice and lack opportunities, many are also ruled by dictators or an elite that hate Islam. The west is morally bankrupt but it many of the things the Muslim countries lack. However, we are now entering a very bad period in the west - where the morals and ethics are poles apart from Islamic values. It is now incumbent on us to seriously consider moving, even at some economic or monetary loss. The akhirah is more vital to us than this dunya.
@@rozenabashir6705 on the one hand do we go back our countries of origin (for those who aren’t native) and build new communities that keep to better standards? But not isolated ones. Middle East is possibility, mainly gulf states, but expect not to become a citizen as they don’t allow that. So it’s temporary really.
