Here in New Zealand we got smashed with the worsted cyclone in the last 100 years . The tons of silt has smothered alot of reefs and these millions of tons of logs and other stuff sitting on the sea floor. This will have in time a massive impacted on our crayfishing and wetfish industry
Soooo happy for the Mad Mullet that the crabs have not gone missing post cyclone. Happy days all is OK. Big hit on the Mud Crabber huts. Stay happy all will be ok.😊
Yes the Mad Mullet is the Star. So good to see you guys back out on the water getting into the crabs Stay safe and well and looking forward to the next adventure Cheers Garry
Loving the vids mate FYI in NSW you’re allowed to keep female crabs so long as they aren’t carrying ova(eggs) and they are over the legal size just in case people keep saying you shouldn’t be allowed to keep females just tell them in the most populated state in the country you’re allowed to keep female mud crabs as well.
I hope the boys do well this year, they certainly put the hard yards in. Just realised how Mullet ties his crabs, smart man, I will be doing that in the future.
Great to see ya back in the water guy s , couldn’t help but notice the flash new carpet mullet . Might sort out the cod slime hey . See ya’ s in a week or 2
I saw a couple of other fellas commented something similar. It would be interesting to find out if that's true. I saw that big buck you got in your recent video... "That'll keep the girls happy!" haha. Good stuff. It wasn't until you put your hand up next to the claw that you realise how big the fella was.
You guy’s really are true blue Aussies, my wife and I are currently in Cooktown with our car, boat and caravan and are just waiting for the roads to open so we can get to the tip of Australia and then we head to our buck list destination of King Ash Bay 😁😁. We are so excited to finally get there and a beer in the pub with you guys would be the ultimate, with some luck you might just be sitting at the bar when we walk in, who knows ? Another fantastic episode Mickey, well done mate
There is a fair chance we will be sitting there mate. Haha. Thanks for the support. And hope you enjoy The Cape mate. Can you please bring back a rock for Bullfrog?
great stuff guys, the mullet is a bloody champ hope it does go viral fellas, bloody educational as well learned a new way to tie crabs, keep em coming Mikey
I remember Ash talking about the difference between a slow long rain vs dumping back in the early episodes. I was wondering how this was going to impact the muddies. I guess I'll tune in to find out!
Hello from central Qld, another great episode Mikey always good to see you guys. hope the boys have a great season and looking forward to seeing more great content. cheers boys
Congratulations Mad Mullet & I wish I could help fix your home where you stay but it is a long way from Brisbane mate. I hope all the boys up there do well. Cheers Denise - Brisbane
Great to see you and mad mullet survived the cyclones that pulverised the area, we coped it hear in FNQ too at Port Douglas and we're cut off for a while after our road in was destroyed but we made it too, hopefully the barra are going nuts too
Mate I dead set love these crabbing vids with the man the myth the legend the mad mullet 😂 I’m super keen to catch up with all use boys on my lap of aus 🤙🏼🍻
Great to see a couple of smiles on faces ,great that you can get some content out and the crabbers can make some money. Great clean looking crabs keep it up fellas I bet Ash will be chomping at the bit to get out there good luck
Bloody good to see you back Mikey and with the Darwin shagger the Mad Mullet! Hope you all have a very prosperous ‘24 after those devastating cyclones. My no video withdrawal symptoms have eased!
Yea it was such a good start to the year, bloody Megan came along and stuffed things up. Anyway… hopefully we can kickstart the year again and make it great again.
Awesome video mate. Can't believe how flooded King Ash bay got. As far as Jennie's go from what I've been told at legal size in the NT they don't breed anymore so why the other states don't allow it I just don't know 🤷. Hope to get up there next year after the wet and hopefully catch up with you guys 👍 and looking forward to the next podcast 😊👍
Hey Mikey and Mad Mullet, top trip to begin the year with after a crazy NT Wet season. Quick question lads, after pulling a rock solid full crab from the system , tying up and transport then to table, do they lose meat content from being rock solid out of the water on catch to the table ? Also can the Mad Mullet predict after doing a round on the pots where the movement is of them given some sections of pots have more than others in them for his next drop of pots to follow them ? Also how many crab to average a full basket legends ? Love ya bloody work guys, cannot wait to get some time out from Darwin to come visit and experience the life you guys have there. Well Done Team.👍 🍻🍻🍻🍺
To answer your first question, everything happens so quickly that from the time Mullet catches the crab, it can be on a restaurant table within a few days. Probably maximum of 10 days. So they are stil l going to be top quality by the time they are consumed. And predicting the crab movements... years ago he used to put a small cable tie on a few empty crabs that he would be throwing back. If he caught one of them in the next week or so in another location, he would know where they are moving. But he doesn't do that any more. He just hunts around with his pots and if some come up empty, he will just stack them on the boat and move them to a new location.
@@MikeyCunninghamFishing awesome mate, I've actually done the same and moved around to see if I catch that crab with a small cable tie on it with no luck. Thanks for the input legend.
Yea I reckon Queensland’s is the only one with the female law for mudcrabs. Thanks heaps for watching and commenting mate. Thanks for the support. Mikey👍🏼🤠
@@rigger314 if you’re on Facebook, send me a message to my “Mikey Cunningham Fishing” page. And I’ll get my wife Jazz to order whatever you need mate. 👍🏼🤠
Yea they have used the hen wings for a few years now. I think it’s a combo of reasons… price, availability and also very convenient to rebait pots with the hen wings.
MAD MULLET FOR PM .....BE GETTING ME ONE THEM MAD MULLET RUB AND TUG SHIRTS FOR SURE......😂😂😂😂😂

It always took me a good week to dig out of a blizzard so relax, catch fish and crabs. Have fun.
Greetings from the BIG SKY of Montana. Around here those storms are called a hurricane. Getting 2 of them is a bit trying I'd wager.

Yea, probably a good yarn to go with how he aquired the carpet too. Haha. He didn't buy it... that's for sure.
is it true that when the big gurls get over a certain size they stop breeding? good video boys!!

yea mannn.. nice day out.
Unreal lads love it keep em coming!! The mullet can tie a crab
Unreeeeeal 👍🇦🇺
What happens to everyone's boats when the cyclone hits. Are they tied to a big tree
Some people tie their boats down. Most people try to find some shelter for their boats.
@@MikeyCunninghamFishing thanks mate 🤙
clean shell = recently molted = no meat
You're not eating the shelll mate haha
Floods are great for prawns i believe so hopefully that translated to crabs too.
Thanks for another fun vid
Good work books love the content
perfect
just got new merch today .thanks
Thanks for the support mate.
GREAT CATCH! What makes them in or out?
When they are soft, he throws them back. If they are soft, they probably don't have much meat in them and won't survive the trip to the restaurants.

How much money can 2 boxes of crabs make? If you don't mind answering.from indonesia🇮🇩
It varies throughout the year depending on the market price of crab. Can be a few hundred dollars. But can be over a thousand.
@@MikeyCunninghamFishing Thank you very much friends for the information and finally my curiosity has been answered & good luck always
How many hours mate does mullet usually run his yammy too before he trades them in there a great engine the 150
We just swapped the motor on his boat a few weeks back. The old one had over 3,000 hours.
What’s the chances off a old Aussie sea dog enjoying a week in your life doing these type trips?
We kinda talked about it in the video mate. Mullet is gonna need to become a registered tour operator or something. Haha.
Great stuff, Cheers

Who builds those tinnies ??
Love your shorts but I bought your 7xl shirt and it was like 2 sizes to small. Not a problem I will live with it.
