- Featuring The Mad Mullet, Andy Total Carnage, King Ash and myself (Mikey Cunningham) with a few other guests and appearances along the way. It's Andy's first time to King Ash Bay, and we plan to spend a few days on the water with him... but with the first big cold snap of the year, the timing of the trip couldn't be worst for Barra fishing.
But with a lot of time and effort (and some help from The Mad Mullet) we finally get onto some fish.

Those shows on your sounder look like prawn schools, could be bait schools but I'd say prawns..be worth having a drop in it on the lower tide periods or when there's some run off pumping through...or bang the 12ft top pocket net over it lol

Top stuff boys living it.! Ime the mad mullet too.from just south of mackay.did fishing charters here for a few years.dozens of islands out front still go out for a few days camping on them love it. Ime touching 70 now but still pretty able. Have fished king ash a few times back in the day.anyways good to see Andy down there with youz.keep em comin Mikey.🐟🍻😜

@@MikeyCunninghamFishing I really enjoy your videos and have given all I’ve seen a like. It is great entertainment, and as a viewer you almost feel like you know the characters like Ash and Mullet. I am liberal with my likes for others as well unless they are objectionable. Entertainment provided for me doing things I would love to do but will never be able. Sure, you do have fun. But, you also spend many hours driving your motorcar, spending your money on all the expenses incurred, and then hours editing. Unless people hate fishing (and then they shouldn’t watch) they should like, costs nothing! Like using blinkers and headlights are a courtesy and don’t cost. Giving a like to an entertainer shows appreciation and respect. End of Rant, go Mikey, Ash, Mullet, Young Boy and all your other movie stars. 👌👍😊

I would fish around mullets boat late afternoon and night with livies in that deep hole. Prime time for big barra and jewies to feed. The arches look like barra and jew feeding on what appear to be bait schools. Even a 8m deep diver black lure with red head and white markings would be worth a troll as it silhouettes at night I think they are called Dr Evil.

Might have a school of Jewies in the hole you sounded, was it a neap tide? In the gulf they'll sit in the holes on neaps. Not always bite though, and can be lazy. Try that same spot next neap with slabs of mullet or catfish

I'm still at a loss as to why big cod are thrown back.
Properly blead and filleted the nice thick slabs are as good eating quality as most other fish.
Quiet frankly i'de give my right eye for cod and chips with a side salad ?
That's true and the fillets cook in their own oil. Healthy for you. If you can get a legal wire netting cod they are 5 star.🤠👌

Yea they are good eating. But we are spoilt for choice here. People here usually have 2 or 3 species that are their favourites that they will take home.
At 19:12 it could be prawns on the sounder, the archers are fish but at 19:12 I would of chucked the cast net to see if they were prawns.
The fish might of been feeding on them too so they weren’t interested in the lures

Yea. I do… but it’s old and not very good picture. Getting a new sounder in October. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Mate try putting sounder onto sidescan at 800Mhz in that depth (try a combo screen - sidescan, traditional chirp and clear vue) and you should get a better idea of what is down there. In 4m sidescan will resolve well enough to tell whether its barra or not. You need to run a the other screens to get a better idea. I can shoot you a good link to a RUclipsr that explains how the 3 interact. Once you do I reckon you will clean up.
This sounder is getting old now… I’ve got a new sounder coming in October. So will try some new setting like you suggested.
It looks like fish to me, going off Ryan Moody's sound course.

Hey Mikey been watching your videos for a long time now I bought a boat about a year ago and decided to update my sounder and found out all the original marks are still on it and they are all from king ash bay MacArthur river I’m from Sydney it’s a long way from me I was curious if you would no the original owner by chance the boat is a 4900 tabs territory pro side console
Wow that’s crazy. I don’t think I’d be able to track the original owner unless it was a very distinctive boat.
