You cam find books and mineral/geological reportts and maps by the gov. Also google the topic you'll be surprized. Best places to find gold is in areas where others have. Also on youtube enter the area/river or state and topics gold/panning/detecting etc. See what others have done.
We have hundreds of kilometres mountains and all type like forest mountains. Hard rock.bed rock.desert mountains....can i find gold there if i buy gold detector and pann for panning...reply

Most certainly keep your eyes out for black sand even In the desert you will see it, and look for mountains that are vertical to the sky.
