- How to connect to a router if Router ip address doesn't work. 192.168.1.1 is not working on laptop.
Troubleshoot wifi, the problem is found to be default gateway is not available. Since default gateway is the router. Router settings not working.
Common router IP addresses are
192.168.0.1 (Tplink wireless router)
192.168.1.254 (BT Home Hubs)
192.168.1.1

This was the most useless video i have seen. Of course you can't connect to your router if you set a static IP address to another network. Change it to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and it will work. If you don't know what you are doing, run it on default settings.

haha the fix for me was that i was trying to use 192.168.1.1 and not 192.168.0.1 so by simply reading the title you fixed it :D thanks!
mine was the opposite. Tried using 192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.1
when i go to the protocol, its blank for subnet mask, gateway, and ip, im scared if i enter the gateway in it will break my internet

My ISP installed a new cable modem/router and I had them connect it to my existing router. Now, 192.168.0.1 points down at the cable modem level and ignores 192.168.0.1 on my old router. Even if I unplug the cable modem and I'm connect to only my old router I can no longer access its control panel (192.168.0.1). I can see other computers on the network just not the control panel. My control panel had important features which I can no longer access. Anyone have any ideas?

Before you follow these instructions. With my Netgear router if I cannot login. I turn it off and back on and it resets the login address. Then I can login perfectly fine.
