- The gunman behind New Zealand's worst mass shooting, Brenton Tarrant, has faced survivors and relatives on the third day of his sentencing hearing.
Tarrant killed 51 Muslim worshippers in a rampage he carried out in Christchurch last year and livestreamed on Facebook.
He is likely to be given life without parole.

No. Hes serving permanently in solitary confinement. No mail no contact with outside world... He has bounty on his head if he goes into general population. He recently tried to argue to get his "fanmail" and that was both shot down by the courts/he removed his application to argue the fact. He will not be deported because aussy government will refuse to take him even though hes an aussy national... Even as their own govt deports criminals to nz who are born bred aussies but had a parent who was kiwi..

hes in solitary, he has no mail, no newspapers, no internet, no tv, no library privileges, no phone calls, no visitors, even the guards dont speak in front of him. He gets to sit in his cell with nothing to distract him. his meals are delivered to his cell 3 times a day so the only time he gets to leave his cell would be to shower possibly and to exercise - alone, no other prisoners around just his assigned guards. if they put him in the general prison population he would be dead very very quickly. so he has to be kept in solitary. we dont say his name here, he is not acknowledged he is just known as the mosque gunmen and so hated, he wont escape, he would be hunted down by well 5 million people cos he killed our people,

That's the mindset of these people. He won in the end. Life sentence in prison? He might meet people who think like him in there, which will mean paradise for him.

I've seen the video. It's weird for me; it's not that bad in terms of gore, but to hear an innocent man greet that thing with "hello, brother!" Or the last couple victim in the video crying " help me! Help me!" It gets to me. Did you even watch the video? Their is no death penalty in NZ, therefore the court gave him the highest sentence possible which is life in prison without parole. I don’t see how you consider his actions that of a lucky man , as he will be locked up in some cell looking at absolutely nothing for many years asking himself the same questions everyday -why? can you imagine spending the next 50 or so years with no outside contact, no internet, no tv, no radio, no newspapers, no books to read, no mail, in the same very small room NO HUMAN CONTACT the only people u come in contact with is a prison guard who doesnt talk who just delivers your meals, and may say a word or two like get up, shower, or get up exercise. and when u leave the cell u go have a cold shower, then back to your cell or outside into a concrete yard surrounded by concrete walls and barbed wire, then back to your cell - you never see anyone, you dont hear other voices, you know nothing of what is going on. he has already tried to appeal solitary, tried - it didnt get to court, it was denied. that is his life until he dies. it is mental torture. and it is what he deserves oh the meals well they are extremely basic, no one said he couldnt have the same meals over and over again - a death sentence would give him instant relief, he doesnt deserve instant relief. his name is not mentioned here, we honour our people and the people at the mosque chose our country, they chose to live with us, that makes them our people and some horrible foreigner comes into our country and kills our people, well he's going to get the worst possible punishment until he dies.

So he couldn't enjoy a beautiful life, and most of all he couldn't hurt anyone for the rest of his miserable life.
