Theaters need talent and passions like this for their costumes, most of the time actors are dressed up in mere exhibitionist rags than costumes. Gosh, he'd make a perfect costumes designer.
Having a dad who hand makes beautiful dresses for his daughter is a better flex than dads who buys “designer clothes,” for their daughter.
Everyone has a different profession of expertise your comment does not make any sense . That is like saying a dad who is a chef is better than a dad who treats you in a restaurant?
Agreed
I believe they mean it to say that she may appreciate that effort places more. Like I can go buy a card but when I make them my family appreciates the effort more. If you sacrifice to buy something it's the same level. I don't think it was meant to degrade the concept of the purchase but rather praise the effort.

in a country where families prefer boys to girls, seeing how much he loves his daughter and imagining his daughter having a girl too, is very touching
Not all prefer boys. It's normal human behavior to prefer rarity. So yea. 😂 Boys now are legit in the "overrated" category in some community / family in China.
With the now loosened policy, most families wanted both girl and boy. "Only kids make choices, adults want both. "
@@newname3718 true, nowadays people don't really care as much anymore unless the older generations are the ones who pressure them.
Maybe back in the day, it was more so, now not so much.
Even back in the day it wasn't guaranteed because my uncle is the only male in his family, but he was not treated as well as his sister because his parents preferred girls. This sort of preferential treatment actually made my aunt quite... difficult to work with to say the least.
