0:01 "Greetings and Blessings friends and RUclipsrs."
0:24 Kohl's wanting to Revive Manicheanism
0:30 Kohl had been a very Augustinian Christian.
0:36 Kohl was interested hyper Augustinian Christian known as Jansenism.
**How Kohl Nelson became sympathetic to Manicheanism in 2024**
1:01 Events in Kohl's life, trying to discern why things were happening to him.
1:28 Caused him to struggle with Doctrine of God's Absolute Sovereignty.
1:42 This caused Kohl to become sympathetic to Manicheanism.
1:50 This transition from Augustinianism to Manicheanism was not difficult for Khol Nelson.
    **How people think of Augustinianism**
    2:01 Augustinianism.
2:08 Augustine was a former Manichean.
2:22 Augustine left Manicheanism and thereafter debated Manicheans.
**Kohl's opinion on Augustine's Conversion to Catholicism**
3:01 Kohl's opinion on Augustine's Conversion. Augustine was genuine in his conversion.
3:46 Augustine heavily studied The Scriptures after converting.
5:21 The Manicheans were very Pauline.
5:57 Augustine incorporated Manichean emphasis in order to win over Manicheans.
**Manicheans *considered themselves to be* Christians**
6:41 The Manicheans were not Orthodox Christians due to their Dualism.
6:55 However, The Western Manicheans considered themselves to be Christians.
7:13 Mani himself came out of The Christian sect known as The Alkazites(?).
7:34 Trying to get what Paul is saying and incorporating what Paul is saying into their own thinking.
**The Orthodox Christian battle with Gnosticism**
    9:27
10:07 Augustine is himself a sort of reformer.
*The Big Difference between Augustinianism and Manicheanism*
    10:37
**Sin as Privation, God's allowance for sin to happen*
12:07 Everything that happens, sin is privation, an absence of the Good.
12:43 Every sin, God in a sense ordains, but in another sense permits.
13:31 To a Manichean that is abrorrant.
    14:23 "This couldn't possibly be God's Will."
*What Manicheans have in common with Augustinianism*
    14:44
    15:35 Free Will.
15:54 Dualism allows Free Choice. Forces of Evil and Forces of Good. Choose what wins within you.
16:28 Our efforts and choices are predetermined. "A Bad Tree cannot produce Good Fruit." "A Good Tree cannot produce Bad Fruit."
17:07 There is no 3rd thing, there is no tertium quid.
17:32 Manicheans will write about being a victim of their own sins.
18:11 Your higher self is Divine, your light self cannot sin, cannot desire sin, it's against your nature.
18:38 The flesh chooses sin. "The Good that I ought to do, I don't do."
19:30 Doing good, because your Divine self is dominant and acting according to Good Nature.
    *Unrebuke and Grace by Augustine*
    20:02
20:33 The Power of External Influence.
20:54 Dark power is limited. Ascetic efforts are not useless, not valueless.
21:30 Inspiration by Divine Grace to receive Holy Communion. Habitual Grace overpowered Temptation.
22:31 Manicheanism. Man is a balance, a scale, a battleground of Good force and Evil force.
*Dieting. Choosing not to take in more darkness*
    22:47 Diet.
23:53 "My weight is my love; my love is my weight."
24:10 "Man is like a reed."
24:31 Pascal's Wager. A Start, not an end to being faithful.
    *Victorious Delectation*
25:12 We do what we want to because what we want appeals to us.
26:02 It may not be something you positively enjoy, but man always chooses that which he most desires.
26:40 Romans 5:5 "Hope does not disappoint." Divinity being poured into us.
    27:42 The The Beatific Vision.
*Delatpatsio Carnalis: The Delight in The Flesh*
29:04 If we don't perceive God, we delight in the world and the flesh.
29:36 What is good about the flesh is that it mirrors God, but without intuitive apprehension, we fall into sin.
30:14 Rebuke matters. God is them means unto which His creatures achieve predestined ends.
    *How the will works*
    30:42
    31:09 Monism vs Dualism.
31:23 "Why does God put me through this?" "What good is there in this?"
31:51 "God is Good and Gracious. I am becoming sympathetic again to the Augustinian position."
32:15 "I don't believe in Universalism." Massa Damnata, Massa Perdiciones.
32:45 Some are negatively predestined. Of those God saves, He has Mercy on us.
33:12 God had great mercy on Paul, and on Kohl.
33:56 Figurism. Sense of Purpose, understanding why everything happened.
    *Moving back towards Augustinianism*
34:32 No ill will towards Manicheanism, Mani and Manicheans were of "Good Genuine Attention" striving to follow "The Gnosis of The Savior."
*The Manicheans rejected The Old Testament*
35:42 Augustine comes to understand The Old and New Testament's relationship.
    36:30 Flip Flopping.
    37:29 Ideas of The Demiurge.
    38:07 Genesis Story.
38:51 Moving away from Manicheanism. Renewed appreciation of Augustine.
*Wishing the best for The Ecclesia of Light*
    39:25
*Wish you The Best. God Bless you."
40:13 "God consigned all to disobedience so that He could have Mercy On All."
    40:55
41:03 "I wish all of you the best. God Bless you. And be well."

Your difficulties are called cognitive dissonance. The god that you hope for is not the one that a plain and intellectually honest reading of the Bible describes.
Just read 1 Samuel 15: 3 say aloud "this verse is good and true" and mean it. Then read Matthew 7: 12 and do the same thing. If you notice a difference that is cognitive dissonance.

On the surface it doesnt look like such a cold blooded order could come from a God who says "love your enemies" ... which is what makes Manichaean and Gnostic interpretations of the sacred scriptures appealing.
However when we consider the sacred mission of the Jews and how through Abraham's seed all the nations of the world are to be blessed ... then we can see why for reasons of the greater good it was important for God to preserve His revelation and safegaurd the Jews from corruption via the influence of the Canaanite tribes. (Deut/Devarim 20:18)

@KohlNelson Sorry but I am not interested in being "lectured" by anyone who would seek to "excuse" the slaughter of babies and the unborn. Sick beyond belief.
I fully understand that you have chosen to sacrifice your integrity, humanity and morality on the altar of your demonstrably utterly depraved deity. I however have no intention of kowtowing before your god, professing my "love" and begging "forgiveness" for breaking any of an arbitrary set of rules that your god has chosen to make impossible to fully understand and keep, under the threat of extreme eternal violence.
I simply explained why I believe that you are suffering from cognitive dissonance and the fact you put all your effort into "excusing" the first verse and no effort into "excusing" the second, should tell you all you need to know.
