This man does one of the best reviews on Autocar India. Some, if not most of the other reviewers have such dreary (and sometimes annoying) delivery that it's actually embarrassing to watch. Presenting is a skill to be learnt. Some people seem to think it's simple and anyone can do it. Those people couldn't be more wrong. Gavin D'Souza sounds natural unlike some of the others who sound so scripted that it could have been done by a junior school student.

This presenter reminds of BBC Top gear former host Jeremy Clarkson.
Telling all the stats properly with a bit of expressions of the drive feel and some jokes here and there.
Mark my words, this Man will be one famous person.

the problem is the 2017 vento ,jetta, passat, ameo, polo almost look the same

We have a 2012 VW Jetta. It feels exactly the same. The exterior differs obviously. But, the new features in the new jetta are impressive. Makes me realise that we did a big mistake by buying the 2012 model for 20 lakhs as today you get the same model for 13 to 15 lakhs! Its equal to the depreciated value of our car!

the jettas here has 170 and also a 225 hp gli, i am from canada btw, i notice when i look at the specs the indian market has lower spec vehicles even the high end ones! and vw is not really known for it reliability even the audis which i owe too many electrical problems!

Prijo Johnson cause if not priced well it just won't sell.... performance is not the first thing that comes to mind or safety for that matter... its comfort, looks, and luxurious interiors... also most car buyers are chauffeur driven at this price point .. it doesn't matter..

Prijo Johnson Indians demand more bang for the buck when it comes to mileage, not many buy the jetta, it's the Octavia which finds fancy with the Indians, Indians rarely look for performance vehicles they are more accustomed to the japanese frugal efficient engines that get the job done in heavy traffic. The Germans have a tough time against the Japanese in India. You can't race on the roads here, either you'd kill someone or get killed yourself :)

Fuel quality is a reason they don't want to put high stressed engines into models.

VW Jetta must deserve the Sunroof. Without sunroof it looks incomplete sedan having 2000 CC.

Disappointed still.... Expected the new car would pack more punch with VW's new 2litre TDI, but sore... C'mon VW, Skoda's using new engine's developed by you... Also expected black leather upholstery, since the beige's are getting dirty quite often, and black's look sharp indeed... Hill hold missing, USB missing, and what about start stop button and kessey folks... I simply love Jetta for its dynamics, straight line stability, handling, braking, safety.. But our Indian version's keep disappointing many like me...

I have been driving a Jetta since last 4 years. Its diesel and has been giving lots of trouble with defogger, aircon which the local service guy has not been able to fix. Every time they open up and car to fix it, pretends to have fixed it but actually doesnt. When confronted they saw Jetta car defogger is like this , it's the manufacturers fault, they cant do anything. Utterly disappointed. Avoid Volkwagon like the plague

      In terms of equipment... yes.
In terms of safety... obviously no. Jetta gets independent rear suspension, 2 extra air bags and dynamics is a lot better

    • @ponygt6629
      @ponygt6629 9 лет назад +3

Even fuel efficiency the new Corolla sucks big time, Indians are so much Japanese brand biased that they ll buy anythimg with a Japanese brand symbol above it,
      Eg toyota etios,honda city etc
Both are pathetic cars, built cheap and has skinny tires that can kill the occupants or someone onnroad if driven with some pace, skinny built quality, pathetic light weight construction and super cheap feeling interiors, yet it has a badge on it, Toyota or Honda, over Indians will buy it,

Nitin Sharma VW makes cars that stay valid for over a decade comfortably. Unlike the Japanese, where you'd get bored of the funk in a few years
