They can get quite large, but they don't have aggressive root systems and the branches are flexible. You can cut them back as much as you need early spring, or late winter.

Bought a black lace today that grows pink flowers. Are these suitable for berries and tea?
Black Lace Elderberries are edible, but will need another variety of Sambucus nigra for a polinizer.
