Excellent review. Thanks for including speaker and mic samples both close and far away. That's very helpful.

I suggest that you use human speech rather than music to test the performance of the speaker, as this type of product is designed for speech intelligibility, not music reproduction. Additionally, one of the two brands you are comparing claims to have two ways noise cancellation. Testing with speech would allow us to verify this claim.

That is a good suggestion, but there is still merit to testing with music. There are very few USB speakers of any quality on the market today, for some reason. Everything has gone Bluetooth. The gentleman here did not test the USB connection (I wish he would have!), unfortunately, but at least we got to hear the sound quality. I've gone on elsewhere about why Bluetooth is not always a good choice for a desktop computer speaker, but suffice it to say that there are reasons one might want to have a USB rather than Bluetooth speaker, and particularly a one-piece device that can sit under the monitor or at least take up less space somewhere on a potentially cluttered desk (who, me?!). The microphone here becomes basically a bonus; who doesn't have a webcam today? But the microphone in the webcam is too far away for optimal intelligibility. So having a mic/speaker device that you can put on the desk right in front of you, this could be a win-win.

The emeet sounds really good ... how is the noise cancelling with keyboard typing?

OKish. Noise cancellation is good. Keyboard sounds are really hard to eliminate if it is close and loud. Really kind of depends on the keyboard though.

To me, the microphone on the Anker sounded better. The Emeet sounded tinny.

bought the emeet in sept 2022 and WFH 100%. Mine didn't come with extra mic. Emeet was sufficient using USB A dongle (no bluetooth due to my computer) until May 2024 where it stopped holding a charge. As of last week, it will not even turn on now. So DOA in under 2 years with full business use. I would say this is subpar and now looking for new speaker. Will not buy Emeet again.

Same happened to me. Just over a year and a half of daily use and now it won't hold a charge. And, now people are occasionally complaining about my mic. I unplug and replug and it works great again but it's on its way out. Really torn because I have a Jabra 510 and Anker Powerconf in hand right now and, in side-by-side testing, on a current call, everyone likes the eMeet Luna mic the best, and hands down I like the eMeet speaker quality the best. So, I'm about to send the others back and get another eMeet, but still hunting for an alternative.
