I really enjoy your videos and I don´t want this comment to come across as hate or anything. I just didn´t like that it felt more like an advertisement than a review. No comparisons in heat-up-time to other kettles, no measurement of the exact temperature, no exact pouring rate, no critique-points... I would like to see more in-depth-reviews in the future with a more critical approach. Keep up the (otherwise) good work!
Hey josh, it would be useful if in future kettle reviews included actual temperature measurements with an external thermometer. Seems that every kettle doesn't behave equally good in every situation
I liked the review. I am interested in the quietness. You said it is quiet but how quiet? Ours is super noisy. I don’t want a gooseneck and looked at a number of reviews including Russell Hobbs quiet, which people say becomes super noisy after a month or so. I imagine it is to do with build up of contamination with use. Could we get some idea of noise compared to similar products.
Hey Josh, what do you think about the large one for doing pour overs? I like the larger capacity and the larger spout for daily uses, just wondering how you found the lager spout for finer work?
how pedantic are you with your pours? -- It's not ideal - but certainly doable. You're able to pour at around 8-10g / sec. For reference - ideal pouring is around 4-6g/sec for pourovers. Though perhaps if you use the Hario Drip Assist as well - then there'd be no question it's doable 👌 alternativebrewing.com.au/products/hario-v60-drip-assist
I move a lot, and looking for a new kettle that will be easy to take with me. Something that won’t break but will still be light enough. Would you recommend this one?

@@trypeak Yes, better feel imho. Simple and effective. Really comfortable to hold and pour with. Fast to boil. 👌 I have not used the most recent Fish no :(
Yea flow is a little more consistent on the EKG over the 10cm stream threshold- otherwise pace of flow, and balance of kettle whilst pouring are on par

Hey! thanks so much ! I appreciate all feedback and yeah you’re right - I see how this video review was quite brief. I’ll do better in the future 🙏
@AlternativeBrewing I really appreciate how you handle criticism and i‘ve become a fan your content the past days. So thank you as well!
A friend gave me a Kenmore electric/cordless kettle. Love it, worked for over a decade. I spend my $$ on quality coffee and organic milk /cream

excellent choice - will do - thanks for the tip 🫶

What is the minimum fill rate of these kettles?
Also what is the lowest flowrate you can achieve with the spouted version?
Minimum fill is 250ml. Lowest flow rate for the spouted kettled (under control) is 10ml/sec
Thanks, that gooseneck spout looks more sensitive than the Stagg and where are they made?

The spout is not condusive for pour over. Except french press or Aeropress

Yes 🙌
Kettle can be ready when you are!?? Whats the point mine takes 1.5-2mins in this time i setup the brewer and grind the coffee..
Is this just Fellow sold under a different brand name? It looks identical.
NO, completely different brand/. Next to each other the differences are easy to spot
@@AlternativeBrewing Maybe easy to spot the subtle differences....but it is way beyond inspired by Fellow. Some would say imitation.
those are pretty expensive, just get an oxo for the same experience and function, I have the OXO gooseneck adjustable temp
Is this plastic free? Or toxic heavy metal free??
Love how they don't even list a price for the kettles.

Brewista or Varia Kettle?
Varia 🙌
@@AlternativeBrewing Why? Better flow control? Did you take a look at the new timemore fish smart pro?

@@AlternativeBrewing Thanks for your answers. Is the flow similar to that of the fellow ekg?
