We love your videos, the amount of historical information behind them is wonderful!
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoy them.
I traveled rt 66 back in the 50s twice, once going out to California & once coming back. My dad wouldn't let anyone look under the hood of the car & kept a close watch on it while filling up with gas. You covered some of the scams but there were a bunch of them. A razor blade to cut fan belts, oil squirted on a differential imitating a leak. Same with shock absorbers. Motels were not always the greatest, some didn't even have an indoor toilet and few had a shower if they had one. One gas station we stopped at had an outdoor toilet that had a cactus growing through a crack on the side wall. Earlier this year we made a trip to southern California and tried to follow as much of rt 66 as possible. Before the trip I had watched a lot of U-tube videos about the mother road & one stuck in my mind. Can't remember the name of the town but there was a scam artist who ran a garage and he was notorious for being very dishonest. One day someone shot him dead, reason unknown. They tried to blame a passing sailor but that didn't stick. Never did find the culprit. The old mother road wasn't as glamorous as they depict it. Thanks for the video, needed to be done.
Thank you for the comment and kind words. . It was not all gold and glitter on Route 66. I appreciate you sharing your recollections as well. It’s nice to hear first hand accounts.
Really great video, structure and content.
Glad you liked it!
Awesome video!
Thanks for watching.
I like your videos, though I'm not a fan of the AI art at all.
Thanks for the comment. I am working to pull back on reducing the number used, as several have commented on this. We often need to use them where we cannot obtain photos to display. We will work on it.
