Een dag nadat onze strijder Tony aka Cyberzombie veel te vroeg naar Walhalla is gegaan, komt Heidevolk met dit nummer.... Toeval bestaat niet. Rust zacht strijder en drink er 1 op ons.

Anywho. Not a bad song, it just feels.. Softer? Far less hitting than the powerful 'VOORWAARDS, VOORWAARDS' of Nehallenia or 'Hulde aan de Kastelein', nor as growly as Winterwoede. The chanting at 2:50 was a really nice touch though

Takes time to get used to hearing your own language in music you usually listen only in English, doesn't it? Was the same for me with Finnish (as a Finn), at first it sounded ridiculous but I learned to appreciate it and now I love every Finnish heavy song I hear.
I love to hear bands sing in their native languages. English is way too prevalent in music imo although metal is quite diverse nowadays with languages all over the world!

After "Klauwen Vooruit" this is sadly yet another generic metal song. Sadly to see that there is no power in Heidevolk anymore to produce something special. It's beyond average, not more, not less. And also far beyond the potential of this band.

Never knew that generic metal bands also had choirs and string quartets in their songs. What is your advice for them to do? Since you are clearly an “expert”?
Imo, they have gone backwards in the meaning behind their songs. They used to sing of old folk stories etc. Now its just generic folk metal text. I loved them since their first album but the last two albums are falling behind imo.
@@Kerstlamers Maybe you should read about thematics in albums. Or maybe read about the meaning of the songs. Another completely Dutch folk tale themed one like Velua would be difficult, since almost all Dutch folk tales from the region already have a song by them.
