Like it often does actually. Look at "Control" main character for instance. There are many examples of ugly main characters in western games (Returnal, Last of us part 2, Freya in God of War ...) Japanese games are the only ones actually making good looking character based on real model (Ashley from RE4 for instance, Quiet from MGSV, Death Stranding characters) because they aren't afraid of beauty.

I'd say its perfectly feasible for a 19 year old tribal huntress to have a very small, thin frame and still possess the strength to perform the athletic feats she does.

Then dont forget to sprinkle in the fact that all humans in horizon are descendants of hand picked genetic specimens who were likely deemed to be the peak human examples of their time. Hell you can even look at MMA fighters and grapplers, many of them do have visually powerful cores, but a solid amount of them retain a thinner waist, indicating that it isnt as huge a factor in athletic ability as you seem to believe. Hunter gatherers simply dont have access to the food sources to maintain 2500-3000+ caloric requirement. So the body cend up shedding unnecessary weight and improving muscles in a way that leaves you leaner but very efficiently athletic. Aloys waist is not unaturally thin at all anyway, the whole characterd design is lean and thin, and for the situation and environment, it makes perfect sense. Dont forget that Aloy is the clone of a 21st century scientits and very successful public figure, not a roman heroine gladiator.
Hannah Hoekstra's performance in The Canal is absolutely fantastic. The movie is great and all actors give such a performance in which you can't tell if it's a movie or a real footage.
That's the weirdest and creepiest interview I've ever seen in my life and I didn't even understand anything, 😕, but the girl is indeed really gorgeous, it was a really good choice for the game.

You can look s recent as the vietnam war to realise that the natural body of a very young, strong and fit individual is generally thin and toned. And this is displayed pretty well in alloys character model. She has a very small frame but is incredibly toned (which you can see literally just when aiming your bow) and her waste seems proportionally natural, it just seems slimmer because of the bulky belts and costumes she wears. I'd say its perfectly feasible for a 19 year old tribal huntress to have a very small, thin frame and still possess the strength to perform the athletic feats she does.

Many of whom were physically fit and capable warriors, arguably with access to more food and dietary preparation than any hunter-gatherer. And these people were all MEN. (if you didnt know that, then I dont know why you're complaining about lore supported character styling if you've not even finished the game).
Hell you can even look at MMA fighters and grapplers, many of them do have visually powerful cores, but a solid amount of them retain a thinner waist, indicating that it isnt as huge a factor in athletic ability as you seem to believe.
Hunter gatherers simply dont have access to the food sources to maintain 2500-3000+ caloric requirement. So the body cend up shedding unnecessary weight and improving muscles in a way that leaves you leaner but very efficiently athletic. Aloys waist is not unaturally thin at all anyway, the whole characterd design is lean and thin, and for the situation and environment, it makes perfect sense. Dont forget that Aloy is the clone of a 21st century scientits and very successful public figure, not a roman heroine gladiator.
