Blackout is probably my overall favorite thing to come from the COD franchise. The game was filled with moments like 5:08 and that's just the normal BR mode. The LTM's like Pandemic, Heavy Metal Heroes, Hot Pursuit, Bounty Hunter, etc gave me the coolest moments I've ever had on COD. Sitting in Buried fighting Zombies with Wonder Weapons in a Battle Royale? Nothing comes close to the amount of fun things to do in Blackout. And on top of all of that the mode actually has a good meta/skill gap with the way the weapons, ballistics and TTK is. I love Blackout, thanks for playing it
9:07 also by the way Blackout actually has lots of cool rewards you can get for winning, you can find challenge items around the map and win games to get things like Operators and Skins. You can also do contracts that give you Reserves that can be used to earn basically all the stuff you can only buy in the shop today (Mastercrafts, Reactive Camos, Skins, etc etc).

Thats what kept me hooked, only cod experience that legitimately played out like the trailers at times. Especially 50v50
blackout would've had so much more success if it was free to play and the graphics weren't as messed up

I love how in blackout you don't have to be scared of moving. Even in an empty field, if you got the movement you can dodge bullets and heal. The ttk and slow bullet velocity encourages movement
And recoil, it took skill to hit long range AR shots

I actually really liked blackout. The armor levels were always a problem to me, however, I really liked the attachment hotbar due to a lot more versatility. I have a couple vids on my channel of it and still proud of them
Whats so bad about the armour levels? Theres only technically 2 levels. Level 3 was Level 2 with added headshot protection
@@ChilledP the only problem I had with it is just like apex. The luck to get better armor than others that gives the edge over others is what I didn’t like. OG warzone made this not a problem and you were sure how you could deal with your enemies.
@@ChilledP armour just gave durability advantages and is luck based unlike the armour system in warzone where all players gave a pretty equal chance

I loved blackout because it felt like I had a reason to play because you would have to find certain items and complete their challenges to unlock characters
I enjoyed blackout too however my only problem is that it's creation kinda ruined and killed zombies

@@okay3364 bo4 zombies was scuffed because at the last second Activision wanted treyarch to include a br thus taking developers and budget from the multiplayer and most importantly zombies. And because of blackout warzone was created. Most of the call of duty budget and development time now mostly goes to warzone leaving multiplayer and zombies with scraps

There were little to no devs pulled from zombies till the expansion of the map.

I have very fond memories of blackout. I know warzone is better at this point, but I played blackout more than I ever did warzone.I wonder what would’ve been if it ever became free to play.
I think it comes down to personal preference. I personally enjoyed Blackout a whole lot more than I ever enjoyed Warzone.

@@ChilledP I disagree. I would consistently get 60 and 70 kill games on BO4 due to exploitation of certain specialists and extremely overpowered, unbalanced guns. I played that game much less because it always felt too easy if that makes sense. I’m a lifetime 2 KD player across almost every COD but BO4 I was closer to a 4 KD

I always liked what they did with the game in terms of the colour palette, the map and the fact that weapons could be picked up and it would apply your chosen camo to it but it was insanely sweaty and unbalanced which made it impossible for me or anyone I knew, to win.

@@Settiis that joke is so over used and for it to look like puke (sarcasm or not) it would have to look washy and indistinguishable but it isn't. Everything pops out and is vibrant, you clearly prefer dead colour pallettes like on Verdansk or cod games that look like cod ww2
I remember how fun even spectating was or even going back to look at the replays on the whole warzone map
WOW I forgot about this game! I'll be honest, I don't know if it's because I had a buddy of mine play this with me all the time, but I have nothing but fond memories of playing blackout. Really fun game that I wish stuck around a little longer.
Things that Warzone 2 needs to take from this game:
1. Helmets, maybe making them a rare drop like the self revive or something you get from an armor box. The helmet is not an extra armor plate, its only to save you from a one shot headshot
2. No loadout, I don't mean to take costume weapons out of the entire game but making a game mode where weapons and attachments drop
3. Better / Fun mobility since this game feels way ahead in mobility with the grappling hook. Maybe make it like the Combat Bow?
4. Brightness, it is a lot easier to find people inside and outside buildings in this game
(Edit) Forgot that the parachuting system in this game is also better not having you wait forever on your parachute instead allowing you to glide and actually control how fast you drop even across the map

My most memorable Blackout moments were when my buddy and I went for the “Masochist” challenge/calling card and when we went for the “Path of Peace” challenge/calling card. Jev I think you gotta give it a try man 😂

Blackout was the best BR ive ever played. Most of the armor, helmet, and looting comments you made were not as bad if you actual played. All about positioning, accuracy, and consistency made it so fun.

It really surprises me that people don't have a generally more positive view of Blackout looking back. Everyone just craps on it but I never hear reasons, so I like that you pointed out the RNG of armor, because as someone who no-lifed Blackout, that issue and some audio problems were the only standout problems with the game imo. All that happened is the genre evolved, other big titles took off, and unfortunately there was a moment where the balance updates began to actually make Blackout worse.
Watching Shroud play this was the best!

Since I have finished all the new cods I’ve been playing a lot of bo4 and have been having a fun time grinding the camos it’s refreshing to just get some head shots and some other challenges to get a mastery camo

The only thing I hate about Loadouts is how accessible they are. If warzone has supply drops instead of buy stations, I think it would solve some issues.
the whole point is that theyre meant to be accessible so everyone has good guns so theres less rng.

Bad take JEV. The BR experience of finding loot is an added layer of excitement and fun. It's awesome when you find the good loot. That's a major component of a real BR. Having a loadout like Warzone really makes it something other than a BR. It's basically a free for all on a giant map.
He said there’s no skill and it’s just luck when it comes to getting loot.
It takes skill to use what you find efficiently. Then when you drop enemies you gotta be decisive about what you take and it doesn’t just automatically fill all your ammo and throwables.
I don't play BR really, but to me BR seems to be about getting eliminated after you die and only one person stands in the end. Thats the core of what makes something a BR, not finding loot.
I honestly love the blackout map, they have the zombies mansion and zombies bosses. I also love how colorful it is, modern warfare was so colorless and grey I have already gotten used to it

This games map was beautiful I don’t understand how graphics have taken a step back over the last couple years.
This may have not been perfect but it is a hell of a lot more fun than what we are currently getting
Tbh Black Ops 4 has its drawbacks sure, but it was a great game that I personally loved and enjoyed a ton it's one of the few games I wished to go back to release day and play all over again. Blackout was just an extension of that fun that put a twist on my love of COD it didn't feel like an entirely different game. I don't find myself playing COD that often anymore, mainly because of my views on warzone and what it has done to the latest COD games and the dwindling multiplayer scene, but COD is a game I still get whenever it releases and I will play till it dies.
Side note: I love the videos jev keep it up, you bring so much to the COD and YT scene.
blackout was incredible. way better than warzone and w2. loadouts ruined the true br experience. i loved finding guns and attachments. it made each match feel different plus the POI locations were WAY better here. I wish they would go back to something like this but with blueprints that you can buy with real money, itll never happen and its sad.
Seems like your blinded by nostalgia. Now i’m not saying blackout wasn’t good I actually loved it. It started the whole COD BR track. But, what we have now is thousands of times better than Blackout. And really if they were to bring back blackout, not only would it flop, but everyone saying that it was better than warzone and warzone 2 would play it and be like “oh god this is awful, how do I get my loadout?🥴” Ya no. We can thank Blackout for the immensely positive and powerful impact it had on the COD franchise and how it essentially saved COD from dying out. In some ways you could argue its slightly better than warzone but not by much. Being able to have your custom loadout instead of having to scour through the map to find guns and find attachments for those guns. I remember having 0 trouble finding suppressors because they were literally just empty cans. Having to find attachments instead of picking up a gun and already having stock attachments is way better. Like I said Blackout was amazing but once Warzone and MW19 were announced, Blackout died faster than a fruit fly. I will say though I really wish you could buy your loadout in Warzone 2, they really fucked up with the loadouts. I only hope they change the system.

Blackout will always have my respect. They laid down the ground work for Warzone. It was basically the prototype/test run. Lots of fun playing it. Also they added zombies too which made it even more fun.

if you have a ps5 you can go to setting and enable 120hz if you feel like doing that but you also need a monitor that supports 120hz
I think one of the main reasons why blackout died is because it was based off BO4/BO3 movement and its weapons. It felt clunky on top of the game being rushed with glitches, exploits, crashes, and lag in the servers.

i love black out. warzone is the biggest piece of trash. i can die several times in blackout and won’t be mad but after dying to a mf with a knife one time on warzone i’m off the game. blackout was super engaging and immersive.

This game definitely was better than Warzone. It was more varied, there were weekly modes included and it was a true BR.

The excitement I had finding a KN-57 on the ground beats almost any Warzone win I've ever gotten.
@@SkyzzV_ right, but it was not heavilt influenced by the team you were playing with. My Duo partner in blackout had almost a 5 k/d while mine was a measly 2 something. Same duo on WZ has a similar k/d but I cannot paly with him because our lobbies are filled with players like him. Blackout > WZ. SBMM is also why I do not like Black Ops 2. MW19 just took it to a whole new level

I’ve always said that if we had Blackout with the WZ mechanics, without the loadouts, it could rival most other BRs out there. I still stand by that today.
