Brilliant motor, watching you guys go into the store room to collect the speakers and stuff reminded me of us a kid walking around toys r us.
Haha.. that's exactly how we feel when we are walking round the warehouse 🤣
Yes Raj, change the steering wheel! We have the Momo on our SEC. Looks and feels great!
Can't wait to see this come out.
The Merc will be totally transformed in the next episode once the Airlift Suspension has been installed 👍🏽
Mods are coming along well, love the stereo upgrade (speakers & subs)...I think you should change the steering wheel. Can't wait to the see wheels back on the car, good taste Raj!
Thanks for watching and the feedback 👍🏽
So glad I found this channel , I was a massive car audio fan in the 90s having been around Ian pinder and a mate Peter who now has dynamic sounds good to see there's still some like minded people out there . I'd like to come to a meet but not being on social media how would I find out about some of your meets .
Thanks for watching and the feedback. Our website will have a link available soon indicating all the dates of forthcoming Car & Coffee meets - www.caraudiosecurity.com
Awesome work as usual guys. Regarding the steering wheel, as cool as the momo one is I think keep the stock one 👌🏼
Love the channel, I'm a w124 owner myself. What shocks and struts/bags is it sitting on? Coils?
Raj loving the motor, I've got one myself which I'm restoring slowly aswell and need the security system and sound system in mine. Can you help a brother out?? And as for the steering wheel it's nice, if you do get rid of it let me know👌👍
Thanks for watching - please drop us an email when you need some help with the audio and security upgrades/ links to the products used are available in the description at the end of this video 👍🏽
What's the best affordable sub to get for a new set up that bangs a bit
How does the bass sound? the W124 has the Gas tank between the cabin area and the trunk. Does the sound carry well into the cabin? Getting ready to tackle this on my W124.
Hi i really love your car very nice build. I have a w124 e220 myself. I want to install a subwoofer similar to this one in my car as well. Im just a Little Bit conserned, because the fuelltank is between the trunk and the cabin. Does this affect the sound quality or is still enough coming trough in your case ? Thanks for your videos Kind regards from Germany 😊
What was the budget..? I fancy doing this to mine. Og steering wheel without wood. Great content by the way..-)
I love what you're doing to this modern classic Benz. How do I make sure I'm informed when the work is done and I can bid to buy the car?
A further update will be out in a couple of weeks - car will be advertised for sale on our socials 👍🏼
Leave the steering wheel or change to 90s SL steering wheel. Keep it classic!
Otherwise good work so far 👊
Appreciate the feedback 🙌🏼
That’s a cool modification! May I know what’s the name of the BGM?
Base box on back looks amazing. I love to build one like that for my mercedes 124 320 ce is it any chance you could send me over messurmet of the base box please or copie of sheet how to build it thanks
There is something about driving an old classic with a modern stereo cruising about lol
Hi Raj. I have a W124 pre merger AMG coupe for which i want to upgrade the sounds. How did you modify the front speakers to fit?
Using the same Powerbass speakers (link in description), remove the speaker collars and trim a small section of the dash below the original grill - the speakers should fit in snugly 👍🏽
Brilliant job where r u guys based as I have some work to do on my a124 Mercedes
Bilton Way, Hayes, UB3 3NF - caraudiosecurity.com
I have a 99 E430 I've been hooked on mercs not percs get it ever since
This is giving me ideas for my ML 280 cdi ...
Glad we could help 😊
What kind of seats are those?
Subwoofer just ruined the boot space.
I fitted a flip out screen Pioneer head unit with CarPlay. It is much more useful than just a vanilla head unit. Sound is good but I’m fitting Jehnert door bass speakers in the custom build door cards.
So what’s happening with this build? You given up?
Great work and a gorgeous car! The steering wheel in the car is pretty nasty, so you should replace it with the other one, or source an OEM Mercedes half wood, half leather wheel from that era.
Is it possible to do remote start in a manual?
yes it is
Original good
Leave the steering wheel however maybe get rid of the wood finish, or upgrade to another merc wheel, keep it oem
Momo steering wheel is nice but not to sure about the chrome. Black centre or even leather would go well thats my opinion anyway. Good job so farr btw 👍
Thanks for the feedback 👍🏽
surely any criminal that instercepts the signal will also be able to start the car?
Honestly I would've left the stock headunit. Its soo good looking. Just get a bluetooth cassette.
MOMO steering wheel definitely
Is that steering wheel ready to be sent to my residence?😂
Hope the steering wheel wasn't changed.
Leave the original steering on
Looks awesome, but please don't change the steering wheel. It's gonna look tacky and cheap. re upholster it and paint the woodtrim
It's the wood trim we do not like - thanks for your feedback 👍🏽
Hi Raj… would you sell this car?
Yes, it will be up for sale next month. Last Merc episode dropping this Thursday
Used the E 55 flat bottom would be better
Leave the original steering wheel but without these modification. 👌🏻👍🏼👍🏼
original steering wheel.
Steering wheel won't look to good covered in parts of a person's face while you wave out the window
leave the original steering wheel please
Even though the wood trim does not match the rest of the interior?
@@CarAudioSecurityUK I think the style of the steering wheel adapts more to the interior, if the wooden trim seems to bother the visual, then I'm wondering if we can get the same without the wooden trim. Just my thoughts
keep the steering wheel mercedes but get a nicer one!!
Not a fan of the MOMO steering wheel but also not a fan of this current steering wheel as it has that silly wood piece in the middle which isn’t ‘original’ no Mercedes steering wheel has ever had wood in the middle of it, none! Lol, if possible Find the ORIGINAL CE steering wheel with wood pieces on the top and bottom of it lol around £400 ish.
What was the budget? I fancy doing this to mine as it looks a bit tried. Og steering wheel without wood..-)
Leave the steering wheel 🙃
Leave the original steering wheel bro.
Ive got a genuine leather steering wheel from a 1995 e320 coupe. Message me.
Leave the original steering wheel
you don't put a cheap American steering wheel into a classic Euro beauty.
Keep it lose the wood grain
Steering wheel : It does look outdated and takes up visual landscape for no reason so yeah get rid.
Thanks for the feedback 👍🏽
I own a W124 E320 coupe myself and I am all for original, so please do not use the Momo steering wheel....it is far to ugly!
You say you have a budget but you're adding subwoofers and considering changing out steering wheels. With all due respect you're doing too much.
This is a MERCEDES if you want to put these kind of things by a Honda or a Toyota.MERCEDES must remain as it was made from the factory.
